Scheme for sharing classical information via tripartite entangled states

We investigate schemes for quantum secret sharing and quantum dense coding via tripartite entangled states. We present a scheme for sharing classical information via entanglement swapping using two tripartite entangled GHZ states. In order to throw light upon the security affairs of the quantum dense coding protocol, we also suggest a secure quantum dense coding scheme via W state in analogy with the theory of sharing information among involved users.Comment: 4 pages, no figure. Physical-Biological Oceanographic Coupling Influencing Phytoplankton and Primary Production in the South China Sea

Two cruises were carried out in the summer and winter of 1998 to study coupled physical-chemical-biological processes in the South China Sea and their effects on phytoplankton stock and production. The results clearly show that the seasonal distributions of phytoplankton were closely related to the coupled processes driven by the East Asian Monsoon. Summer southwesterly monsoon induced upwelling along the China and Vietnam coasts. Several mesoscale cyclonic cold eddies and anticyclonic warm pools were identified in both seasons. In the summer, the upwelling and cold eddies, both associated with rich nutrients, low dissolved oxygen ( DO), high chlorophyll a (Chl a) and primary production ( PP), were found in the areas off the coast of central Vietnam, southeast of Hainan Island and north of the Sunda shelf, whereas in the winter they form a cold trough over the deep basin aligning from southwest to northeast. The warm pools with poor nutrients, high DO, low Chl a, and PP were found in the areas southeast of Vietnam, east of Hainan, and west of Luzon during the summer, and a northwestward warm jet from the Sulu Sea with properties similar to the warm pools was encountered during the winter. The phytoplankton stock and primary production were lower in summer due to nutrient depletion near the surface, particularly PO4. This phosphorus depletion resulted in phytoplankton species succession from diatoms to dinoflagellates and cyanophytes. A strong subsurface Chl a maximum, dominated by photosynthetic picoplankton, was found to contribute significantly to phytoplankton stocks and production

The determinants and value-relevance of voluntary disclosure of supply chain information

We use the voluntary nature of supply chain information disclosure in China’s stock market, including both major customers and suppliers information, to study the determinants and value relevance of proprietary information voluntary disclosure. Consistent with information asymmetry concern, disclosure is more likely when firms are seeking external finance or operating with a more concentrated supply chain where the needs of reducing information asymmetry are higher. Supply chain disclosure is found to be associated with a lower firm valuation on average. Good corporate governance reduces such voluntary disclosure, further confirming protecting proprietary information is one of the key considerations of non-disclosure. The disclosure of supplier identity is less value relevant than customer identity

Fluctuations in a Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz Bouncing Cosmology

Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity is a potentially UV complete theory with important implications for the very early universe. In particular, in the presence of spatial curvature it is possible to obtain a non-singular bouncing cosmology. The bounce is realized as a consequence of higher order spatial curvature terms in the gravitational action. Here, we extend the study of linear cosmological perturbations in Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity coupled to matter in the case when spatial curvature is present. As in the case without spatial curvature, we find that there is no extra dynamical degree of freedom for scalar metric perturbations. We study the evolution of fluctuations through the bounce and show that the solutions remain non-singular throughout. If we start with quantum vacuum fluctuations on sub-Hubble scales in the contracting phase, and if the contracting phase is dominated by pressure-less matter, then for λ=1\lambda = 1 and in the infrared limit the perturbations at late times are scale invariant. Thus, Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity can provide a realization of the ``matter bounce'' scenario of structure formation.Comment: 19 page
