In this paper, we reflect about the epistemological characteristics underlying on the interactivity process taking place in the Western Civilization since the second half of the twentieth century with the predominance of the new information and communication technologies. Also, we ask ourselves about the advantages and the disadvantages that people have in the access, management and control of the new information and communication technologies. For that reason, we will review the opinions of some of the main communication and information technology theorists like McLuhan and de Kerckhove

Reactivation of a hyperextended rift system: the Basque‐Cantabrian Pyrenees case.

This contribution investigates the role of a hyperextended rift system in the formation of the Basque-Cantabrian Pyrenees by discussing their present-day architecture as well as the inherited rift template. Moreover, this work attempts to decipher the onset of reactivation of a hyperextended system and to discuss the related processes during collision. To carry out this study, two regional, crustal-scale cross-sections are presented that provide geological and geophysical information and interpretations across the Central and Western Basque-Cantabrian Pyrenees. Moreover, the two sections are restored back to the Cenomanian and Barremian, corresponding to the end of two independent rift stages respectively. The two sections document different structural styles observed along the orogenic belt. The Central section, involving the Iberian and European plates, shows a thin-skinned structural style, where the Upper Triassic salt acted as a decoupling level between the sedimentary cover and the underlying basement during both extension and reactivation. The Western section, by contrast, crosses only the Iberian plate (i.e., intra-plate section) and displays a hybrid situation showing both thin- and thick-skinned structural styles that were conditioned by the irregular distribution of Triassic salt. Extensional deformation was localised in the north (i.e., Bay of Biscay) and less important in the south. Despite compressional reactivation, the northern part of the Western section preserves its rift template, which provides key insights to restore the internal part of the Central section. In contrast to the Western section, the Central section shows stacked depocenters, resulting from overprinted Mesozoic rift events that had a first order control on the subsequent reactivation. This study corroborates the importance of rift inheritance during the onset of convergence by reactivating the most distal and weak part of the rift system (i.e., serpentinised mantle) before starting the collision phase. A key learning is that the understanding of the nature and distribution of decoupling levels at a crustal scale is fundamental to reconstruct the structural evolution during the formation and reactivation of a hyperextended rift system

&nbsp

Guided Bone Regeneration of an Atrophic Maxilla Using Heterologous Cortical Lamina

Alloplastic dental implants are currently the best way to replace lost teeth. In order to achieve good function and prognosis of dental implants, having bone and soft tissue to support them is necessary. When the amount of bone left is not enough to ensure the outcome of the implant, techniques such as shorts implants, zygomatic implants, or guided bone regeneration have been used. Even though autologous bone is mostly the 'gold standard,' other biomaterials such as xenografts have led to the reduction of the morbidity of treatments and to the improvement of the regeneration technique outcomes. We present a clinical case of severe atrophy of the maxilla in which we used different types of biomaterials: heterologous cortical lamina, xenograft and autologous bone, and microscrews

Active Commuting to School among Spanish Preschool Children: A Temporal Change Study between 2013 and 2017

Background: Active commuting to school may increase the total daily physical activity and achieve health benefits among preschool children. Rates of active commuting to school among Spanish children and adolescents have been widely analysed, while the rates of active commuting to school among Spanish preschool children are unknown. Aim: The main objective of this study was to examine the changes in the rates of active commuting to school in a sample of Spanish preschool children between 3 and 6 years old from 2013 to 2017. Methods: Data were found from five studies carried out across Spain. The study sample comprised 4787 preschool children (4.59 0.77 years old; 51% males). The overall changes in active commuting to school were assessed using multilevel logistic regression analysis. Results: The rates of active commuting to school in Spanish preschool children are around 52%, and the active commuting to school rates have stayed stable throughout the period assessed (odds ratio from 0.40 to 0.58, all p > 0.05). Conclusion: In preschool children, the present study obtained a favourable result on active commuting to school, showing a pattern stability in the examined period similar to other ages. It will be of great importance to promote this behaviour to obtain high levels of active commuting to school. [EN]Allergenic pollens originated health problems in a rising segment of population on developed countries. Adequate forecast of extreme health related events such peaks or start of pollination season could allow taking preventive measurement that reduce hospitalization cases and an improvement in life conditions for patients. AEMET and partnership institutions are developing models that would allow early warning to Health Authorities., Plane tree pollen is one of the main causes of pollen relate allergies in Iberian Peninsula
