The aims of this study was to develop a computer-based learning media is valid and practical course on pastry in the ca of IKK FPP UNP. This study uses Research And Development (R & D) is the method used to produce a specific product and test the feasibility of the product. Products produced in the form of computer-based learning media in the Department of IKK FPP UNP. Data collection techniques in this study conducted using questionnaires given to lecturers caterers and questionnaire responses of students to the media developed and analyzed using analysis deskripstif which includes analysis of the validity, and analysis of the practicalities. The results of this study indicate that the validity of computer-based learning media on valid category (0.89). While the practicalities of the test, the lecturer / practitioner gives very practical category (92.7%) and students leave with a very practical category (88.7%). Based on these findings it can be concluded that computer-based learning media is valid and practical to be used as a medium of learning in the subject of Pastry

Single-shot Ad26 vaccine protects against SARS-CoV-2 in rhesus macaques

A safe and effective vaccine for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) may be required to end the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic1–8. For global deployment and pandemic control, a vaccine that requires only a single immunization would be optimal. Here we show the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of a single dose of adenovirus serotype 26 (Ad26) vector-based vaccines expressing the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein in non-human primates. Fifty-two rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) were immunized with Ad26 vectors that encoded S variants or sham control, and then challenged with SARS-CoV-2 by the intranasal and intratracheal routes9,10. The optimal Ad26 vaccine induced robust neutralizing antibody responses and provided complete or near-complete protection in bronchoalveolar lavage and nasal swabs after SARS-CoV-2 challenge. Titres of vaccine-elicited neutralizing antibodies correlated with protective efficacy, suggesting an immune correlate of protection. These data demonstrate robust single-shot vaccine protection against SARS-CoV-2 in non-human primates. The optimal Ad26 vector-based vaccine for SARS-CoV-2, termed Ad26.COV2.S, is currently being evaluated in clinical trials

Abstract Background This study focused upon a curriculum for at-risk students in vocational education aimed at enhancing students’ motivation and engagement for learning. The study explored teachers’ view on effective curricular characteristics and teachers’ strategies to create positive learning experiences for students. Methods Qualitative research has been conducted regarding four curricula for at-risk students; data were collected and examined by means of 16 focus group interviews with teachers and analysis of relevant documents. Results Teachers pointed out the central position of the student, resulting in individual trajectories. Teachers used peer group dynamics, job orientation and sports as tool for student development. Teachers regarded themselves as coaches, as experts in sport activities and as group managers. For positive learning experiences two key curricular characteristics have been identified: (1) equality in the relationship between student and teacher, (2) a positive fit between the curriculum and the students

Regional Politics and Economic Patterns: Glocalisation and the Network Enterprise

    No full text
The exploration of contemporary accents in regional economic policy is the starting point of this paper. The confrontation of this investigation with the theoretical background that is developed within the global-local paradox, leads to a glocalisation concept, being the ratio between global orientation and the local and regional aspects of industrial production. Glocalisation manifests itself as local production complexes that are nodes within global networks. Seen from the production point of view, industrial strategies, leading to the emergence of the network enterprise, are the driving forces behind this process. Both examples, the network enterprise between the Belgian car manufacturing industry and their suppliers and the rail engineering in the Berlin-Brandenburg region as nodes in a global network, support this thesis. In search for a new perspective of regional economic policy, it is clear that the local does not exist without the global. This implies that regional policy must be seen from the point of view of a socio-political entity that defends local interests by attempting to unite the firms’ interests with their own interests. There is no doubt that this concept of local interests is precisely the missing link in the global/local models. From the existence of the network enterprise, for whom local is certainly not the same as it is to the socio-political entity(ies), this also indicates that purely indigenous models and policies are not appropriate
