International audienceTo speak of the body in a relationship with cinema is to enter into a form of intimacy through the representation that is made of this body. Introducing it into a documentary system means affirming the apprehension of a reality anchored in a place at the same time as the various protagonists of the film are positioning themselves. Based on the interactions between filmmaker, filmmakers and spectators, this film genre is based on an educational approach insofar as it allows to acquire knowledge on how to live in a territory. The experience of fifteen years of making workshop and documentary films in the so-called "cities" in the South of France, offers a unique situation to build a representation of this way of being in a space particularly stigmatized by the media. A process of collaboration, (co-)creation or participation develops at the same time as the bodies set up. These are affirmed at the same time as man positions himself within society, thus testifying to a policy of bodies.

The series of documentary movies « to Live in the territory » questions the urban plans of renovations set up in many « cités » in France. [EN] There are cases treated in detention centers that present some specificities with respect to other affordable educational strategies from social component. This we refer to the need to address situations in which the same symptom of transgression resulting in an offense that carries a legal measure has other bases that generate and / or maintain, or etiology marking its expression and so much attention. The approach to interventions with children and young people is a seriously disruptive content submitted to numerous debates, discussions and disagreements. In this regard, therapeutic placements would be for those cases in which the intervention on symptom requires a specific and specialized perspective. Beyond clinical approaches, therapeutic placements should from the intervention on self-regulation problems (emotional, behavioral, and cognitive) and behavioral expression and as a key defining element. To this we add that we have observed in our practice in recent years an increase in problems related to the field of mental health and /or drug and alcohol consumption on children and young people entering the judicial context. This requires expertise and implement a therapeutic approach in centers for juvenile justice. It is particularly important in these cases performed from the beginning of internment clinical and social diagnostics to guide and design the specific educational and therapeutic intervention required for each particular case, in the interest of optimizing the operation and achieve higher levels of efficieny.[ES] Existen casos atendidos en los Centros de Internamiento que presentan algunas especificidades respecto a otros abordables desde estrategias educativas de componente social. This research offers a reflection on the use of fairy tales as a source for historians, showing thus the approach to the tale of Beauty and the Beast with the concepts of beauty/ugliness and civilization/barbarism.Thus, the analysis is based on the relation between the cinematographic adaptations and the original tale. It also presents the cinematographic language dichotomy in which Beauty, a civilized character, tries to tame the monster (Beast). The study is based on the tale written by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont and it is focused on identifying the characteristics of the aforementioned dualities. After identifying the characteristics, the article presents an analysis of the transformations suffered by the story in the cinematographic adaptations produced in the United States between 1960 and 1991 in order to understand the way in which the society highlights the virtues or the defects in the representations of the characters.

    Propagation of social representations

Based on a minimal formalism of social representations as a set of associated cognems, a simple model of propagation of representations is presented. Assuming that subjects share the constitutive cognems, the model proposes that mere focused attention on the set of cognems in the field of common conscience may replicate the pattern of representation from context into subjects, or, from subject to subject, through actualization by language, where cognems are represented by verbal signs. Limits of the model are discussed, and evolutionist perspectives are presented with the support of field data

The red leg dilemma: a scoping review of the challenges of diagnosing lower limb cellulitis

    Get PDF
Background: Suspected lower limb cellulitis presentations are commonly misdiagnoses, resulting in avoidable antibiotic prescribing or hospital admissions. Understanding the challenges posed in diagnosing cellulitis may help enhance future care. Objectives: To examine and map out the challenges and facilitators identified by patients and health professionals in diagnosing lower limb cellulitis. Methods: A scoping systematic review was performed in MEDLINE and Embase in October 2017. Thematic analysis was used to identify key themes. Quantitative data was summarised by narrative synthesis. Results: Three themes were explored: (i) clinical case reports of misdiagnosis, (ii) service development and (iii) diagnostic aids. Forty‐seven different pathologies were misdiagnosed, including seven malignancies. Two different services have been piloted to reduce the misdiagnosis rates of lower limb cellulitis and save costs. Four studies have looked at biochemical markers, imaging and a scoring tool to aid diagnosis. Conclusions: This review highlights the range of alternative pathologies that can be misdiagnosed as cellulitis, and emerging services and diagnostic aids developed to minimise misdiagnosis. Future work should focus on gaining a greater qualitative understanding of the diagnostic challenges from the perspective of patients and clinicians. This article is protected by copyright.
