Attitudes of residents towards tourism. The case of Benalmadena, Spain

Tourism is consumed in the place of production causing a series of impacts. These effects caused by tourism can be perceived positively or negatively by residents. The objective of this study is to analyze the attitude of the residents from the impacts of tourism in the town of Benalmádena, Spanish town that is located within the Costa del Sol. We used a quantitative methodology and we have carried out an extensive survey of 770 residents. Information has been collected through questionnaires and there have been exploratory and ANOVA analysis. The results are: the economic benefits are the most important elements sought and valued by the local population. However, they also recognize the negative effects of this dimension, in the same way as with the socio-cultural and environmental impacts.This study is to analyze the attitude of the residents from the impacts of tourism in the town of Benalmádena, Spanish. This is a mature destination framed in a pattern of sun and beach in 2012 has a total of 10,885 hotel places. An approximation to the standard of living index: the colombian case

This document seeks to show the main properties of a standard of living index using the theoretical approach of Amartya Sen. We establish the link among concepts such as: welfare, well-being, agency achievement and standard of living. Optimal scaling methodology was fundamental in order to test the properties on the Colombian case. These properties are Monotonicity, No independence of irrelevant alternatives, Concavity, Informativity and Substituibility. Resumen. Profile of residents: attitude towards tourism in Benalmádena (Costa del Sol, Spain)

Tourism development and evolution along the time causes multiple impacts. Based on characteristic profiles of resident, these impacts may be assessed differently. Residents´ perceptions of tourism development in Benalmádena (Spain)

DOI: 10.1016/j.tourman.2015.11.007This study examines the residents´ perceptions of the impact of tourism in Benalmádena, and the profiles of the residents according to socio-demographic characteristics. A questionnaire assessed how these characteristics influence the residents' perceptions towards the environment, economy, and socio-cultural aspects. The survey was administered to a stratified sample of 770 residents in Benalmádena. Results show a significant effect of socio-demographic variables on perception of tourism impact. The educational background, place of birth and how long respondents had been living in the community explain a significant amount of the variance in overall attitudes. Interaction analyses revealed that place of birth moderated the relationship between the tourism dimensions and the years of residence. For instance, the respondents with less than five years of residence showed more positive attitude towards the impact of tourism. Algunas dificultades en la comprensión y aplicación del concepto de número fraccionario

Regularmente dar a conocer el concepto de fracción se hace de una forma memorística y no dedicando el tiempo suficiente para que el niño lo asimile y comprenda, en otros casos, simplemente se omite la definición, se inicia en el tema con algoritmos dejando de lado el aprendizaje significativo lo cual genera dificultad en la representación gráfica y en la ubicación en la recta numérica. "Cuando un concepto ha sido incomprendido, y por tanto no sé le ha dado significación al grupo de signos por medio de los cuales se refiere al concepto, los trabajos de tipo sintáctico, que tienen que ver con los manejos algorítmicos, a lo más pueden llegar a desarrollarse de manera mecánica y memorística pero nunca significando las acciones llevadas a cabo con los signos" ( Gaviria Torres, 1997). Basado en las experiencias conocidas tanto por los docentes y estudiantes y por la bibliografía consultada se evidencia la necesidad de plantear estrategias metodológicas donde se le permita al estudiante que observe, manipule, compare, invente, descubra, se equivoque, relacione y llegue a su propio conclusión optimizando así su rendimiento académico, la comprensión de las fracciones, el desarrollo de los niveles de pensamiento y de la conciencia crítica que lo lleve a cuestionar su propia realidad, a mirar los atractivos de su entorno y a comprometerse en su perfeccionamiento

Physical Education from the high school student voice. A case study

Tener en cuenta la voz del estudiante es relevante y útil en el proceso educativo, ya que integra la teoría y la práctica, da al estudiantado la oportunidad de participar en su propio aprendizaje y crea condiciones y posibilidades para que los estudiantes desarrollen o afiancen su propio sentido de ser. De allí que el objetivo principal del presente estudio fue identificar y analizar las creencias y percepciones de los estudiantes de secundaria sobre la asignatura de educación física. La investigación es cualitativa y su diseño es un estudio de caso en una institución educativa de Medellín-Colombia; se valoró su gusto por la asignatura, lo que aprenden en la clase y la importancia que le asignan. También fue incluido el proceso didáctico, la interacción y comportamiento del profesorado. Las estrategias de recolección de información que se utilizaron fueron el cuestionario, la observación y el grupo focal. Los resultados muestran que el estudiantado construye una visión clásica sobre la clase de educación física: diversión, práctica, cambio de rutina respecto a otras asignaturas; e incluye aspectos relacionados con la salud y el aprendizaje de los deportes. Como conclusión, se encontró que uno de los mayores problemas a los que se enfrenta la educación física es la percepción del estudiantado, quienes reducen su participación en las clases a los componentes motrices, desconociendo la posibilidad de una educación física más humana, más integralThe student voice is relevant and useful during the educational process, because it integrates theory, practice, and gives the students the opportunity to participate in their own learning. Additionally, it creates conditions and opportunities for students to develop or consolidate their own sense of being. Hence, the main objective of this study was to identify and analyze the beliefs and perceptions of high school students on the subject of physical education. The research is qualitative and was performed as a case study in Medellin, Colombia. It assessed the interest (enthusiasm) of students in the subject, their learning in the class, and how important the class was for them. The didactic process and behavior was included and the interaction of the teachers. Data was gathered via questionnaire, observation, and focus groups. The results show that students get a classical vision about Physical Education classes that includes a form of amusement, practice, change in routine from all other school subjects; and the inclusion of other aspects related to health and learning of sport. The conclusion of this research showed that one of main problems of the subject of Physical Education was the perception of students, as they reduce the contribution of Physical Education classes to the acquisition of motor skills. Petróleo, IED y crecimiento económico: evidencia para Colombia 1980 – 2018

Trabajo de investigaciónEl precio del Petróleo tiene un comportamiento volátil en el mercado de valores y representa una referencia importante para el mercado bursátil. La producción de barriles, el precio del dólar y el mercado internacional de los barriles son los principales factores que impactan el precio del Petróleo. Este documento estima el efecto de largo plazo que tiene el precio del petróleo sobre el PIB y sobre la inversión extranjera directa, mediante un modelo econométrico VEC se verifica la relación entre el precio del petróleo, el Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) y la Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED) en Colombia para el periodo 1980 al 2018.
