A complete study of the angular distributions of the processes, , with and or is performed.
Emphasis is put on the initial polarization produced in the
proton-proton collisions. The polarization density-matrices as well as angular
distributions are derived and help to construct T-odd observables which allow
us to perform tests of both Time-Reversal and CP violation.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figure
The impact of time limitation: insights from a queueing experiment
We experimentally explore the effects of time limitation on decision making. Under different time allowance conditions,
subjects are presented with a queueing situation and asked to join one of the two given queues. The results can be grouped under two main categories. The first one concerns the factors driving decisions in a queueing system. Only some subjects behave consistently with rationality principles and use the relevant information efficiently. The rest of the subjects seem to adopt a simpler strategy that does not incorporate some information into their decision. The second category is related to the effects of time limitation on decision performance. A substantial proportion of the population is not affected by time limitations
and shows consistent behavior throughout the treatments. On the other hand, some subjects’ performance is impaired by time limitations. More importantly, this impairment is not due to the stringency of the limitation but rather to being exposed to a time constraint

Modeling, Simulation and Emulation of Intelligent Domotic Environments
Intelligent Domotic Environments are a promising approach, based on semantic models and commercially off-the-shelf domotic technologies, to realize new intelligent buildings, but such complexity requires innovative design methodologies and tools for ensuring correctness. Suitable simulation and emulation approaches and tools must be adopted to allow designers to experiment with their ideas and to incrementally verify designed policies in a scenario where the environment is partly emulated and partly composed of real devices. This paper describes a framework, which exploits UML2.0 state diagrams for automatic generation of device simulators from ontology-based descriptions of domotic environments. The DogSim simulator may simulate a complete building automation system in software, or may be integrated in the Dog Gateway, allowing partial simulation of virtual devices alongside with real devices. Experiments on a real home show that the approach is feasible and can easily address both simulation and emulation requirement
Testing Fundamental Symmetries with \Lambda_b \to \Lambda -Vector Decay
Putting together kinematical and dynamical analysis, a complete study of the
decay channels , with
and or
is performed. An intensive use of the helicity formalism is involved on the
kinematical side, while on the dynamical side, Heavy Quark Effective Theory
(HQET) is applied for an accurate determination of the hadronic matrix elements
between the baryons and . Emphasis is put on the major
role of the polarization for constructing T-odd observables and the
standard mixing has the benefit effect of amplifying the
process of direct CP violation between decays.Comment: 47 pages, 10 figures and 3 table
Remove Noise in Video with 3D Topological Maps
International audienceIn this paper we present a new method for foreground masks denoising in videos. Our main idea is to consider videos as 3D images and to deal with regions in these images. Denoising is thus simply achieved by merging foreground regions corresponding to noise with background regions. In this framework, the main question is the definition of a cri-terion allowing to decide if a region corresponds to noise or not. Thanks to our complete cellular description of 3D images, we can propose an advanced criterion based on Betti numbers, a topological invariant. Our results show the interest of our approach which gives better results than previous methods
Laser-driven quantum magnonics and THz dynamics of the order parameter in antiferromagnets
The impulsive generation of two-magnon modes in antiferromagnets by
femtosecond optical pulses, so-called femto-nanomagnons, leads to coherent
longitudinal oscillations of the antiferromagnetic order parameter that cannot
be described by a thermodynamic Landau-Lifshitz approach. We argue that this
dynamics is triggered as a result of a laser-induced modification of the
exchange interaction. In order to describe the oscillations we have formulated
a quantum mechanical description in terms of magnon pair operators and coherent
states. Such an approach allowed us to} derive an effective macroscopic
equation of motion for the temporal evolution of the antiferromagnetic order
parameter. An implication of the latter is that the photo-induced spin dynamics
represents a macroscopic entanglement of pairs of magnons with femtosecond
period and nanometer wavelength. By performing magneto-optical pump-probe
experiments with 10 femtosecond resolution in the cubic KNiF and the
uniaxial KNiF collinear Heisenberg antiferromagnets, we observed
coherent oscillations at the frequency of 22 THz and 16 THz, respectively. The
detected frequencies as a function of the temperature ideally fit the
two-magnon excitation up to the N\'eel point. The experimental signals are
described as dynamics of magnetic linear dichroism due to longitudinal
oscillations of the antiferromagnetic vector.Comment: 25 pages, 10 figure
