Designing Listening Materials Based On Contextual Teaching And Learning Approach

Instructional teaching materials play an important role in English Language Teaching. To make sure that the learning objectives are fulfilled, teaching materials should be in line with the curriculum and learners' needs. This study is an attempt to produce listening materials based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. Local-content materials are used because using topics which stimulate students' prior knowledge can help them comprehend the materials better. The samples are intended to be supplementary in teaching listening. In conducting this research, the researcher uses ADDIE procedure where the participants are the teacher and the tenth grade students of a high school in Pontianak. The result shows that local-content materials can be used for teaching listening. The researcher suggests that the teachers use contextual materials to activate students' prior knowledge in listening

Déprise agricole et stratégies locales des acteurs, contribution pluridisciplinaire à l'évaluation et à l'explication de la déprise agricole sur le canton de Banon (Alpes de Haute-Provence)

Afforestation of pastoral or cultivated areas as a consequence of land abandonment is a preoccupation for decision-makers, because it is perceived as a territory dysfunction symptom. A methodology is suggested, on a small region, in relation to land abandonment and local actors' expectations, to delimit its real extent, but also to explain it by farmers' and owners' strategies. We notice that it is accute in the pastoral areas, which belong to local farmers in activity, but low in cultivated areas. Moreover it appears that the abandoned sectors are the subject of diffuse uses attractive enough to heighten a local perception of the phenomenon rather favourable but not very aware of the risks which it entails. / La fermeture par boisement d'espaces pastoraux ou cultivés comme conséquence de la déprise agricole est une préoccupation pour les décideurs, car perçue comme un symptôme de dysfonctionnement du territoire. Une méthodologie a été proposée sur une petite région pour resituer la déprise par rapport aux attentes des acteurs locaux, en cerner l'ampleur réelle, mais aussi l'expliquer en la reliant aux stratégies des agriculteurs et des propriétaires. On constate qu'elle est forte au niveau des espaces pastoraux, qui appartiennent à des exploitants locaux en activité, mais peu marquée sur les zones cultivées. Par ailleurs il apparaît que les secteurs en déprise sont l'objet d'usages diffus assez attractifs pour renforcer une perception locale plutôt favorable du phénomène mais peu sensible aux risques qu'il induit à moyen terme
