The Political Economy of Exchange Rate Policy in Colombia

    Get PDF
This paper looks into the political economy forces that helped shape exchange rate policy in Colombia since the early 1960s. As witnessed by the remarkable longevity of the managed crawl, Colombian exchange rate policies since 1967 did not take the form of major regime changes. Policy shifts came about through variations in the rate of crawl, varying degrees of administrative restrictions on capital flows and, on occasions, ad-hoc measures to generate multiple exchange rates.

Vacuum stability conditions of the economical 3-3-1 model from copositivity

By applying copositivity criterion to the scalar potential of the economical 3313-3-1 model, we derive necessary and sufficient bounded-from-below conditions at tree level. Although these are a large number of intricate inequalities for the dimensionless parameters of the scalar potential, we present general enlightening relations in this work. Additionally, we use constraints coming from the minimization of the scalar potential by means of the orbit space method, the positivity of the squared masses of the extra scalars, the Higgs boson mass, the ZZ' gauge boson mass and its mixing angle with the SM ZZ boson in order to further restrict the parameter space of this model.Comment: 22 pages, 7 figures, added text and references. Characterisation of the dynamical quantum state of a zero temperature Bose-Einstein condensate

    Get PDF
We describe the quantum state of a Bose-Einstein condensate at zero temperature. By evaluating the Q-function we show that the ground state of Bose-Einstein condensate under the Hartree approximation is squeezed. We find that multimode Schroedinger cat states are generated as the condensate evolves in a ballistic expansion.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figure

Constant of Motion for several one-dimensional systems and outlining the problem associated with getting their Hamiltonians

The constants of motion of the following systems are deduced: a relativistic particle with linear dissipation, a no-relativistic particle with a time explicitly depending force, a no-relativistic particle with a constant force and time depending mass, and a relativistic particle under a conservative force with position depending mass. The problem of getting the Hamiltonian for these systems is determined by getting the velocity as an explicit function of position and generalized linear momentum, and this problem can be solved a first approximation for the first above system.Comment: 15 pages, Te

A general panorama is presented on how remote working can significantly aid to the professional insertion of disabled persons. The goal of this study is assessing the feasibility of remote work for handicapped persons. More specifically, the main competences will be identified in the persons, disabled to some degree, who are willing to work. Also the study will look for the main reasons for work discrimination. In order to begin this research, the PRELIMINARY results of a huge poll will be presented: “Remote work as a contribution to the professional inclusion of educated disabled people in Chile”, and a discussion will take place on how these results can contribute to hiring handicapped remote workers. One of the main conclusions is that ITT oriented to hiring disabled people must try to satisfy both social and commercial necessities and must have the support from the whole community
