Expanding FLew with a Boolean connective

We expand FLew with a unary connective whose algebraic counterpart is the operation that gives the greatest complemented element below a given argument. We prove that the expanded logic is conservative and has the Finite Model Property. A simple and efficient face detection algorithm for video database applications

The objective of this work is to provide a simple and yet efficient tool to detect human faces in video sequences. This information can be very useful for many applications such as video indexing and video browsing. In particular the paper focuses on the significant improvements made to our face detection algorithm presented by Albiol, Bouman and Delp (see IEEE Int. Conference on Image Processing, Kobe, Japan, 1999). Specifically, a novel approach to retrieve skin-like homogeneous regions is presented, which is later used to retrieve face images. Trapping of light beams and formation of spatial solitary waves in quadratic nonlinear media

Serie estratigráfica de Liásico de la provincia de Girona

La serie estratigráfica del Liásico de la provincia de Girona se reconstruye a base de cortes muy fraccionados En ella se identifican paieontológicamente el Carixiense (zonas Jamesoni, Ibex y con ciertas reservas Davoei), el Domeriense inferior (zona Stocke-si) y el Toarciense medio (zonas Variabilis con reser-vas, Thouarsense e Insigne). El Toarciense inferior (zona Serpentinus) se halla representado por restos de fauna no "in situ". El Toarciense más inferior (zona Tenuicostatum), así como el Domeriense medio (zona Margaritatus) Y superior (zona Spinatum) representan con reservas sendas lagunas estratigráficas
