In this paper we show a simple treatment of the complexity of Linear Programming. We describe the short step primal-dual path following algorithm and show that it solves the linear programming problem

The Brazil – Retreaded Tyres Case

The objective of the present paper is to investigate, in an exploratory fashion, how the current legal framework governing global relations was managed in the Brazil – Retread Tyres case in an attempt to perpetuate the unequal distribution of environmental risks and costs related to waste tyre disposal both from a statist and a globalist perspective. After introducing the issue, the context of tyre production and waste tyre disposal is presented. Then, the strategy related to discourse and forum choice will be outlined. Finally, some remarks on possible future developments will conclude the paper

In this work we demonstrate that the Mizuno-Todd-Ye predictor corrector primal-dual interior-point method for linear programming generates iteration sequences that converge to the analytic center of the solution set

WFPC2 Observations of NGC 454: an Interacting Pair of Galaxies

We present WFPC2 images in the F450W, F606W and F814W filters of the interacting pair of galaxies NGC 454. Our data indicate that the system is in the early stages of interaction. A population of young star-clusters has formed around the late component, and substantial amounts of gas have sunk into the center of the earlier component, where it has not yet produced significant visible star formation or nuclear activity. We have photometric evidence that the star-clusters have strong line emission, which indicate the presence of a substantial component of hot, massive stars which formed less than 5-10 Myrs ago.Comment: 14 pages, 4 figures, Latex (AAS macros), ApJL in pres

Distribuição dos recursos tributários, carga tributária e reforma tributária: impacto nos municípios

The aim of this paper is to analyze the recent evolution of the Tax Burden and the fiscal federalism in Brazil, taking into consideration its effects on sub national levels. More precisely, it intends to show how fiscal federalism changed in the last ten years, and how this behavior imposes vertical and horizontal fiscal conflicts. Besides, this study analyzes the distribution of the Tax Burden in Brazil, since the number of no fiscal contributions as well as a regressive the fiscal structure leads to a fiscal structure that contributes to income concentration in Brazil.Brazil; tax burden; fiscal federalism
