Autonomous stochastic resonance in fully frustrated Josephson-junction ladders
We investigate autonomous stochastic resonance in fully frustrated
Josephson-junction ladders, which are driven by uniform constant currents. At
zero temperature large currents induce oscillations between the two ground
states, while for small currents the lattice potential forces the system to
remain in one of the two states. At finite temperatures, on the other hand,
oscillations between the two states develop even below the critical current;
the signal-to-noise ratio is found to display array-enhanced stochastic
resonance. It is suggested that such behavior may be observed experimentally
through the measurement of the staggered voltage.Comment: 6 pages, 11 figures, to be published in Phys. Rev.

Measurement of the neutron detection efficiency of a 80% absorber - 20% scintillating fibers calorimeter
The neutron detection efficiency of a sampling calorimeter made of 1 mm
diameter scintillating fibers embedded in a lead/bismuth structure has been
measured at the neutron beam of the The Svedberg Laboratory at Uppsala. A
significant enhancement of the detection efficiency with respect to a bulk
organic scintillator detector with the same thickness is observed.Comment: 10 pages, 7 figure
Measurement of neutron detection efficiency between 22 and 174 MeV using two different kinds of Pb-scintillating fiber sampling calorimeters
We exposed a prototype of the lead-scintillating fiber KLOE calorimeter to
neutron beam of 21, 46 and 174 MeV at The Svedberg Laboratory, Uppsala, to
study its neutron detection efficiency. This has been found larger than what
expected considering the scintillator thickness of the prototype. %To check our
method, we measured also the neutron %detection efficiency of a 5 cm thick
NE110 scintillator. We show preliminary measurement carried out with a
different prototype with a larger lead/fiber ratio, which proves the relevance
of passive material to neutron detection efficiency in this kind of
calorimeters
Ordering in a spin glass under applied magnetic field
Torque, torque relaxation, and magnetization measurements on a AuFe spin
glass sample are reported. The experiments carried out up to 7 T show a
transverse irreversibility line in the (H,T) plane up to high applied fields,
and a distinct strong longitudinal irreversibility line at lower fields. The
data demonstrate for that this type of sample, a Heisenberg spin glass with
moderately strong anisotropy, the spin glass ordered state survives under high
applied fields in contrast to predictions of certain "droplet" type scaling
models. The overall phase diagram closely ressembles those of mean field or
chiral models, which both have replica symmetry breaking transitions.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, accepted for PR
Measurement of the Slope Parameter for the eta->3pi0 Decay in the pp->pp eta Reaction
The CELSIUS/WASA setup is used to measure the 3pi0 decay of eta mesons
produced in pp interactions with beam kinetic energies of 1.36 and 1.45 GeV.
The efficiency-corrected Dalitz plot and density distributions for this decay
are shown, together with a fit of the quadratic slope parameter alpha yielding
alpha = -0.026 +/- 0.010(stat) +/- 0.010(syst). This value is compared to
recent experimental results and theoretical predictions.Comment: 4 pages, 7 Postscript figures, uses revtex4.st
Upper Limit on the eta to gamma gamma gamma Branching Ratio with the KLOE Detector
We have searched for the C-violating decay eta to gamma gamma gamma in a
sample of ~ 18 million eta mesons produced in phi to eta gamma decays,
collected with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAFNE. No signal
is observed and we obtain the upper limit BR(eta to gamma gamma gamma) less
equal than 1.6x10^(-5) at 90 % C.L.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures Systematic study refined, some figures reordere
Study of the a_0(980) meson via the radiative decay phi->eta pi^0 gamma with the KLOE detector
We have studied the phi->a_0(980) gamma process with the KLOE detector at the
Frascati phi-factory DAPhNE by detecting the phi->eta pi^0 gamma decays in the
final states with eta->gamma gamma and eta->pi^+ pi^- pi^0. We have measured
the branching ratios for both final states: Br(phi->eta pi^0 gamma)=(7.01 +/-
0.10 +/- 0.20)x10^-5 and (7.12 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.22)x10^-5 respectively. We have
also extracted the a_0(980) mass and its couplings to eta pi^0, K^+ K^-, and to
the phi meson from the fit of the eta pi^0 invariant mass distributions using
different phenomenological models.Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Physics Letters B. Corrected typos
