    A Resource Intensive Traffic-Aware Scheme for Cluster-based Energy Conservation in Wireless Devices

    Wireless traffic that is destined for a certain device in a network, can be exploited in order to minimize the availability and delay trade-offs, and mitigate the Energy consumption. The Energy Conservation (EC) mechanism can be node-centric by considering the traversed nodal traffic in order to prolong the network lifetime. This work describes a quantitative traffic-based approach where a clustered Sleep-Proxy mechanism takes place in order to enable each node to sleep according to the time duration of the active traffic that each node expects and experiences. Sleep-proxies within the clusters are created according to pairwise active-time comparison, where each node expects during the active periods, a requested traffic. For resource availability and recovery purposes, the caching mechanism takes place in case where the node for which the traffic is destined is not available. The proposed scheme uses Role-based nodes which are assigned to manipulate the traffic in a cluster, through the time-oriented backward difference traffic evaluation scheme. Simulation study is carried out for the proposed backward estimation scheme and the effectiveness of the end-to-end EC mechanism taking into account a number of metrics and measures for the effects while incrementing the sleep time duration under the proposed framework.     A performance comparison of the contiguous allocation strategies in 3D mesh connected multicomputers

    The performance of contiguous allocation strategies can be significantly affected by the distribution of job execution times. In this paper, the performance of the existing contiguous allocation strategies for 3D mesh multicomputers is re-visited in the context of heavy-tailed distributions (e.g., a Bounded Pareto distribution). The strategies are evaluated and compared using simulation experiments for both First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) and Shortest-Service-Demand (SSD) scheduling strategies under a variety of system loads and system sizes. The results show that the performance of the allocation strategies degrades considerably when job execution times follow a heavy-tailed distribution. Moreover, SSD copes much better than FCFS scheduling strategy in the presence of heavy-tailed job execution times. The results also show that the strategies that depend on a list of allocated sub-meshes for both allocation and deallocation have lower allocation overhead and deliver good system performance in terms of average turnaround time and mean system utilization

    Motor vehicle has been known as a source of air pollution. The exhaust gas from the vehicle can impact the environmental and the human health. The four wheel vehicle or car is the biggest contributor of CO and NOx. Concentration of emisions is effected from the gasoline that used. The others thing that can affect the emmisions are the mileage and the ages of the engine. The method that used is the direct method that testing the vehicle directly and also an interview to the owner of the car.From the results mileage and ages of the engine was positively related to the concentration of CO emission, where the further the distance and the older the age of engine, the more it will increase its CO concentration, with a correlation value of 89.40% and 99.5% perspectively.While mileage and ages of engine negatively related to the concentration of NOx emissions, where the farther the distance, and the older the age of engine,the more it will decrease its NOx emission concentrations, with correlation value of 88.6% and 93.8% perspectively

Large investments invested in the form of inventory willcause problems related to the cost of organizing where the cost will increase the warehouse costs. Inventoryis very vulnerable to damage, theft, and misappropriation. The inventory accounting system plays animportant role in the arrangement of avoiding the repatriation of the company's wealth, especiallyinventory. Proper and correct accounting treatment of inventory is absolutely necessary. This is becausethe inventory post has a considerable influence in the financial statements, which is in the balance sheetand in determining the price of inventory in the income statement. The problem in the research is how todesign good documents, records, and procedures related to the inventory accounting system ofmerchandise at Usaha Dagang Li Jaya Kupang and how the internal control system prevent the multipositions, mis-recording, and possible misappropriation of inventory of at Usaha Dagang Li JayaKupang. The results showed that the inventory accounting information system at UD. Li Jaya hasweaknesses in terms of inventory recording undone because of the limited educational background of theexisting workforce and in terms of its internal controls that have not been effective. The obstacles faced byUD. Li Jaya Kupang is the absence of computerized administration in the recording system, so that isno recording at all in the warehouse section. The inventory accounting information system at UD LiJaya Kupang must have its own recording administration, so that employees do not record bythemshelves.     Hylotrupes bajulus (L.) (Col., Cerambycidae): nutrition and attacked material

    Hylotrupes bajulus, attacks softwood utilising the cellulose contained in wood walls as food. The fibre is digested in variable percentages, depending on the type of analysis, 20 to 48% and, according to some authors, without the assistance of intestinal symbiotic microorganisms. Furthermore, there is published work referring to Hylotrupes, concluding that "starch” … “plays no role in the nutrition of the larvae". Nevertheless, considering that attacks of this species decrease with wood seasoning increasing and having been demonstrated, and that “lignin degradation products of spruce wood do not influence larvae development”, it is possible to suppose that cell walls alone are not sufficient to feed this wood boring species. Furthermore, Hylotrupes larvae have chisel shaped mandibles, similar to those of powder post beetle larvae that feed on starch and need to pulverise the wood to access the cellular content. Preliminary research suggests an utilization of wood fibre as well as of starch by larvae of H. bajulus. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to test the degree of digestion of wood fibre from different sources (sapwood or heartwood) and the possible role of symbiotic microorganisms. Larvae of H. bajulus were grown on synthetic diets made of purified wood fibre and/or starch as main components supplied with mineral and vitamin. Substrates and frass were analysed for fibre fractions, starch and acid insoluble ash, the latter used as an indigestible marker. Larvae purified DNA was analysed by means of metagenomics approaches carried out by direct retrieval and analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences free of cultural bias in order to discover the bacterial diversity from larva alimentary channel alone. Over the past several decades, the 5-year survival following resection of CRLM has increased and the criteria for resection have broadened substantially. Even patients with multiple, bilateral CRLM, previously thought unresectable, may now be candidates for resection. Two-stage hepatectomy, repeat curative-intent hepatectomy, and even selected resection of extrahepatic metastases have further increased the number of patients who may be treated with curative intent. Multiple liver-directed therapies exist to treat unresectable, incurable patients with adequate survival benefit and morbidity rates

    Tambang Intan Cempaka sudah ada sejak masa Kerajaan Negara Dipa di abad 15. Sehingga, permukiman para penambang intan di sekitar tambang diyakini sezaman dengan kegiatan penambangan intan tersebut. Dilihat dari segi usia, kawasan permukiman Cempaka dinilai berkarakter tradisional. Namun saat ini, kawasan ini termasuk salah satu kawasan kumuh Kota Banjarbaru. Permukiman kumuh identik dengan kondisi ekonomi warga. Oleh karena itu, pemerintah Kota Banjarbaru mengupayakan perbaikan kawasan ini melalui program Kota Tanpa Kumuh dan pengembangan kegiatan indusri rumahan. Kegiatan industri rumahan mendatangkan banyak wisatawan ke kawasan ini. Namun secara fisik, kawasan ini belum siap menjadi destinasi wisata. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas kawasan, maka upaya mengenali karakteristik kawasan penting untuk dilakukan sebagai langkah awal perancangan kawasan. Metode yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian lapangan dengan metode deduktif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menemukan faktor pembentuk karakteristik permukiman Cempaka yaitu rumah-rumah vernakular yang menyebar tidak beraturan, menyesuaikan konteks/lokalitas eksisting.
