Análisis de los patrones motores durante el juego en minibásquet

En baloncesto, el patrón de actividad de jugadores adultos, tanto masculinos como femeninos, ha sido estudiado, pero no existen estudios que hayan centrado su atención en el análisis de los desplazamientos de los jugadores de categorías de iniciación deportiva. Tener el conocimiento de las demandas físicas de este deporte permitiría la creación de programas de entrenamiento más acordes con las características de los niños a estas edades. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar descriptivamente la carga física que experimentan los jugadores durante el juego en los entrenamientos en la categoría alevín (M = 11,25 años; peso: M = 38,7; DE = 9,44 Kg; Altura: M = 1,43 m; DE = 0,08; IMC: M = 18,7; DE = 3,14), mediante el análisis por sistema de vídeo. En el estudio participaron un total de 12 jugadores, y se analizó un juego completo que se disputó durante un torneo amistoso. Los resultados obtenidos certificaron que el minibásquet es una especialidad deportiva intermitente donde la tasa de trabajo-descanso fue de 1:1,3. La aplicación de tareas, durante el entrenamiento, que reproduzcan la intensidad del juego durante cortos periodos de tiempo (no superiores a un minuto) aseguraría la adaptación del entrenamiento

Nutrición en el paciente pediátrico con enfermedades oncohematológicas

Introduction: one of the main consequences of oncohematological diseases is the appearance of malnutrition. A suboptimal nutritional status implies a worsening of the quality of life of child and a lower survival rate which indicates the need for increasing knowledge by pediatricians and family doctors of the basic principles that support the area under discussion.Objective: to present the aspects related to the nutritional management of pediatric patients suffering from oncohematological diseases. Methods: a search of the main scientific articles published during the last years was performed, as well as of the printed literature that includes the topic, the most relevant contents for the preparation of the final report were revised, in order to contribute to the doctors who attend these sick children.Results: specialized nutritional support is indicated in patients with malnutrition, oral intake less than 70 % of their nutritional requirements for three consecutive days, and patients with complications that compromise their nutritional status. The types of nutritional support are oral diet, nutritional supplementation and artificial nutrition. Healthy eating provides each individual with all the necessary food to cover their nutritional needs in different stages of life.Conclusions: the nutrition therapy applied to cancer patients consists of correcting, treating or preventing imbalances, nutritional deficiencies with macronutrients and micronutrients, fluids intake, electrolytes and the application of parenteral or enteral nutrition, all these steps are aimed at improving the nutritional status and the quality of life of malnourished patients or at risk of malnutrition.Introducción: una de las principales consecuencias de las enfermedades oncohematológicas es la aparición de desnutrición. Un estado nutricional subóptimo implica un empeoramiento de la calidad de vida del niño y una menor tasa de supervivencia lo que indica la necesidad de un mayor conocimiento por los pediatras y médicos de familia de los principios básicos sobre el tema.Objetivo: describir los aspectos relacionados con el manejo nutricional de los pacientes en edades pediátricas con enfermedades oncohematológicas.Método: se realizó una búsqueda de los principales artículos científicos de los últimos años, así como de la literatura impresa que incluye el tema, siendo seleccionados los contenidos más relevantes para la confección del informe final y contribuir a su utilización por los médicos que atienden estos enfermos.Resultados: El soporte nutricional especializado está indicado en pacientes con desnutrición, ingesta oral inferior al 70 % de sus requerimientos nutricionales durante tres días consecutivos y pacientes con complicaciones que comprometan el estado nutricional. Los tipos de soporte nutricional son la dieta oral, suplementación nutricional y nutrición artificial. La alimentación saludable aporta a cada individuo todos los alimentos necesarios para cubrir sus necesidades nutricionales, en las diferentes etapas de la vida.Conclusiones: La terapia nutricional aplicada al paciente oncológico consiste en corregir, tratar o prevenir los desequilibrios/carencias nutricionales con macronutrientes y micronutrientes, administrando fluidos, electrolitos y/o aplicando la nutrición parenteral o enteral, con el objetivo de mejorar el estado nutricional y la calidad de vida de los pacientes malnutridos o con riesgo de desnutrición

Gearing Time Toward Musical Creativity: Conceptual Integration and Material Anchoring in Xenakis’ Psappha

Understanding compositional practices is a major goal of musicology and music theory. Compositional practices have been traditionally viewed as disembodied and idiosyncratic. This view makes it hard to integrate musical creativity into our understanding of the general cognitive processes underlying meaning construction. To overcome this unnecessary isolation of musical composition from cognitive science, in this conceptual analysis, we approach compositional processes with the analytic tools of blending theory, material anchoring, and enaction. Our case study is Iannis Xenakis’ use of sieves for distributing rhythmic patterns in Psappha. Though disregarded in previous accounts, the timeline and the gearwheel provide crucial conceptual templates for anchoring Xenakis’ idea of time for this score. This case study of conceptual integration templates for temporal representation seeks to gain insight into musical creativity, embodiment, and blending, especially into how virtual interactions with material structures facilitate the construction of complex meanings

Power-dependent effective reflection of fiber Bragg grating as output coupler of Ytterbium-doped fiber laser

In this paper, we discuss the effective reflection of a fiber Bragg grating and its dependence on laser power when it is used as an output coupler of an ytterbium-doped fiber laser (here the effective reflection is considered to be a part of intracavity laser power reflected by the grating back to the laser cavity). We propose and discuss an experimental technique based on spectral and power analysis and derive simple formulae that permits one to obtain the intra-cavity power and the grating effective reflection. We show that, due to spectral broadening, the effective reflection dramatically decreases with increasing laser power, the effect precisely fitted using the derived formulae describing this quantity. The experimental part of the present study is based on an analysis of the operational regime of a long-wavelength ytterbium-doped fiber laser

Online division of labour: emergent structures in Open Source Software

The development Open Source Software fundamentally depends on the participation and commitment of volunteer developers to progress on a particular task. Several works have presented strategies to increase the on-boarding and engagement of new contributors, but little is known on how these diverse groups of developers self-organise to work together. To understand this, one must consider that, on one hand, platforms like GitHub provide a virtually unlimited development framework: any number of actors can potentially join to contribute in a decentralised, distributed, remote, and asynchronous manner. On the other, however, it seems reasonable that some sort of hierarchy and division of labour must be in place to meet human biological and cognitive limits, and also to achieve some level of efficiency. These latter features (hierarchy and division of labour) should translate into detectable structural arrangements when projects are represented as developer-file bipartite networks. Thus, in this paper we analyse a set of popular open source projects from GitHub, placing the accent on three key properties: nestedness, modularity and in-block nestedness -which typify the emergence of heterogeneities among contributors, the emergence of subgroups of developers working on specific subgroups of files, and a mixture of the two previous, respectively. These analyses show that indeed projects evolve into internally organised blocks. Furthermore, the distribution of sizes of such blocks is bounded, connecting our results to the celebrated Dunbar number both in off- and on-line environments. Our conclusions create a link between bio-cognitive constraints, group formation and online working environments, opening up a rich scenario for future research on (online) work team assembly (e.g. size, composition, and formation). From a complex network perspective, our results pave the way for the study of time-resolved datasets, and the design of suitable models that can mimic the growth and evolution of OSS projects
