Measurement-induced generation of spatial entanglement in a two-dimensional quantum walk with single-qubit coin

One of the proposals for the exploitation of two-dimensional quantum walks has been the efficient generation of entanglement. Unfortunately, the technological effort required for the experimental realization of standard two-dimensional quantum walks is significantly demanding. In this respect, an alternative scheme with less challenging conditions has been recently studied, particularly in terms of spatial-entanglement generation [C. Di Franco, M. Mc Gettrick, and Th. Busch, Phys. Rev. Lett. 106, 080502 (2011)]. Here, we extend the investigation to a scenario where a measurement is performed on the coin degree of freedom after the evolution, allowing a further comparison with the standard two-dimensional Grover walk.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figures, RevTeX

    Anheuser-Busch and The EU

    Get PDF
The following paper provides analysis of Anheuser-Busch, its current position within the European Union (EU), and its opportunities/threats that exist in the EU. Included is background information about Anheuser-Busch containing its products, financial condition, and major competitors within the EU. I have provided extensive analysis o f the areas of concern for Anheuser-Busch in the EU as well as recommendations for the company to consider. The major market for opportunity covered is Germany. Anheuser-Busch is not a current competitor in Germany, however, possible expansion opportunities into the country is addressed. Additionally, a realistic outlook of Anheuser-Busch’s future other EU countries is provided. Craft Beer Expansion in the United States

    Get PDF
For centuries the world’s biggest breweries, including Anheuser-Busch InBev and MillerCoors, have been producing America’s favorite beers like Budweiser and Coors Light. However, more recently smaller, craft breweries have seen significant expansion as a growing number of Americans are drinking craft beers. How has this recent trend affected the beer market in the United States? More specifically, how has the recent success of craft breweries affected Anheuser-Busch InBev and MillerCoors? I examine the economic factors that have led to craft beer’s success in a highly competitive market, and further, how this success has impacted Anheuser-Busch InBev and MillerCoors. My study reveals that the premier quality of craft beer has distinctively separated itself from the traditional American lagers, like Coors and Bud Light. Furthermore, as the United States has experienced economic growth, more and more Americans are choosing craft beers over these American lagers. In final, I examine and explain Anheuser-Busch InBev and MillerCoors’ recent multi-billion dollar investments into the craft beer industry

    How sharp are PV measures?

Properties of sharp observables (normalized PV measures) in relation to smearing by a Markov kernel are studied. It is shown that for a sharp observable PP defined on a standard Borel space, and an arbitrary observable MM, the following properties are equivalent: (a) the range of PP is contained in the range of MM; (b) PP is a function of MM; (c) PP is a smearing of MM.Comment: 9 page

The Yagita invariant of symplectic groups of large rank

Fix a prime pp, and let RR be any subring of the complex numbers that is either integrally closed or contains a primitive ppth root of 1. For each np1n\geq p-1 we compute the Yagita invariant at the prime pp for the symplectic group Sp(2n,R)Sp(2n,R).Comment: Minor changes compared to first versio
