Towards Robust Classification in Adversarial Learning using Bayesian Games

    Get PDF
A well-trained neural network is very accurate when classifying data into different categories. However, a malicious adversary can fool a neural network through tiny changes to the data, called perturbations, that would not even be detectable to a human. This makes neural networks vulnerable to influence by an attacker. Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) have been developed as one possible solution to this problem [1]. A GAN consists of two neural networks, a generator and a discriminator. The discriminator tries to learn how to classify data into categories. The generator stands in for the attacker and tries to discover the best way to cause the discriminator to make wrong classifications through perturbing the input. Our work improves on this method through the application of Bayesian games to model multiple generators and discriminators rather than one of each. Through training against multiple types of input perturbation, the discriminators will improve their classification of adversarial samples

Data Sonification from the Desktop: Should Sound Be Part of Standard Data Analysis Software?

    Get PDF
The design of auditory formats for data display is presently focused on applications for blind or visually impaired users, specialized displays for use when visual attention must be devoted to other tasks, and some innovative work in revealing properties of complex data that may not be effectively rendered by traditional visual means. With the availability of high-quality and flexible sound production hardware in standard desktop computers, the potential exists for using sound to represent characteristics of typical “small and simple” samples of data in routine data inspection and analysis. Our research has shown that basic properties of simple functions, distribution properties of data samples, and patterns of covariation between two variables can be effectively displayed by simple auditory graphs involving patterns of pitch variation over time. While such developments have implications for specialized applications and populations of users, these displays are easily comprehended by normal users with minimal practice. Providing further software enhancement to encourage exploration of data representation by sound may lead to a variety of useful creative developments in data display technology

Kata Kunci : Multipath Fading, MIMO, Kapasitas KanalABSTRACT: The performance of a communication system was defined by the medium or the channel that its used. In the last few years the technology of radio frequency or usually called with wireless communication has increased rapidly. It’s caused by some reason, one of them are the big necessary of application can be obtained by the consumer. from these things. Anyway, for the next few years the multi data rate service can be very dominant. This service needs the big sufficient capacity and, one of the technology can required this service is MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output). This project will show an explanation about the capacity in MIMO system, which divided by 2 channel condition, they are LOS condition (Line Of Sight) which used ricean distribution and NLOS condition (Non Line Of Sight) which used rayleigh distribution. Each of them will generate by the simulation process which are properly with some parameters that has defined before, and then the validity of coefficient channel generation will be checked according to the curve of their pdf (probability distribution function). The simulation show the MIMO channel capacity with difference user condition like motionless or make any movement with difference velocity, and the channel information on the receiver or transmitter (Channel State Information). Each measurement about channel capacity with the expected condition will appropriated with the used channel distribution, they are rayleigh fading channel and ricean fading channel.Keyword: Multipath Fading, MIMO, Channel Capacit

    A Strategic Audit of Hasbro

    Get PDF
This strategic audit dives into ten components of Hasbro’s strategic management. The first component discusses Hasbro’s history and current strategic leadership. This is followed by an analysis of the impacts of its external and internal environment. Next, the audit examines Hasbro’s recent performance and competition it faces in the Toy Wholesaling industry. The sixth, seventh, and eighth components consider different levels of strategy that Hasbro pursues. Lastly, the strategic audit considers Hasbro’s corporate governance and its organizational structure and controls. Overall, we conclude that Hasbro is a mature company in a slow-growing industry. Its ability to translate its iconic and well-known brands from toys to online games and TV shows provides a source of competitive advantage that allows it to differentiate itself from competitors. However, Hasbro faces stiff competition from Mattel, which has seen higher profit margins and stronger financial results recently

A method of decreasing plasma cholesterol is disclosed. The method includes oral administration of coprostanol-producing bacteria to humans. These organisms, once in the small intestine, will reduce free cholesterol to coprostanol, which is absorbed poorly. Pharmaceutical compositions for delivery are included as are different methods of delivery such as placing the microorganisms in food

Net Energy of Finishing Diets Containing Light or Normal Test Weight Corn

    Get PDF
Net energy (NE) of diets containing 77.7% whole corn of either normal (53.8 Ib/bushel, NC) or light (40.8 Ib/bushel, LC) test weight was determined by total collection and indirect respiration calorimetry using six crossbred steers (avg wt 327 kg). Diet treatments were applied in a switchback design. The steers were initially adapted to ad libitum intake of either NC or LC diets for 32 days followed by 7 days total feces and urine collection. Gaseous exchange was subsequently measured for at least 48 hours. Intake was then reduced to an estimated 1.1 times maintenance for 6 days and collections were repeated. The steers were then switched between NC and LC diets and the entire process was repeated. As a percentage of gross energy consumed, fecal energy losses were 32% greater for the NC diet compared to LC (P\u3c .01). Urinary energy losses were unaffected by diet (P \u3e .20). Although energy lost as methane did not differ between diets at high intake, it was 27% greater for LC than NC at low intake (interaction P.20). Partial efficiencies of ME used for maintenance (k,) and gain (k,), as well as ME required for maintenance, also were not different (P\u3e.20). Diet NE for maintenance and gain was 13% greater for LC than NC. NE estimates calculated by difference for light and normal whole corn were 2.48, 1.65, 2.15 and 1.43 mcal/kg dry matter, respectively. These data demonstrate that corn of low test weight is not inherently lower in NE content than normal corn

Objective: To characterize physical and mental health in trauma-exposed refugees by describing a population of patients with regard to background, mental health history, and current health problems; and to identify pre- and post-migratory predictors of mental health. Method: All patients receiving treatment at the Psychiatric Trauma Clinic for Refugees in Copenhagen from April 2008 to February 2010 completed self-rating inventories on symptoms of PTSD, depression, and anxiety as well as level of functioning and quality of life before treatment. Then, associations of pre and post-migratory factors with mental health were explored using linear and logistic regression and Pearson’s correlation coefficients. Results: Among the patients, the prevalence of depression, somatic disease, pain, psychotic symptoms co-existing with PTSD and very low level of functioning was high. Persecution, being an ex-combatant and living currently in social isolation were significantly associated with PTSD arousal symptoms and self-reported pain. Conclusions: New treatment modalities should seek to address all of the symptoms and challenges of the patients including psychotic and somatic symptoms and social isolation, and studies of treatment effect should clarify all co-morbidities so that comparable populations can be included in treatment evaluation studies
