The Electromagnetic Form Factor of the Kaon in the Light-Front Approach

The kaon electromagnetic form factor is calculated within a light-front constituent quark model (LFCQM). The electromagnetic components of the current are extracted from the Feynman triangle diagram within the light-front approach. We also obtain the electroweak decay constant and the charge radius for the kaon in the light-front approach. In this work, the kaon observables are calculated and a fairly good agreement is obtained with a very higher accuracy when compared with the experimental data.Comment: Paper with 4 pages, 1 figure, reference: XII HADRON PHYSICS Conference - to appear in AIP Conference Proceeding

    Dialectical polyptych: an interactive movie

    Get PDF
Most of the known video games developed by big software companies usually establish an approach to the cinematic language in an attempt to create a perfect combination of narrative, visual technique and interaction. Unlike most video games, interactive film narratives normally involve an interruption in time whenever the spectator has to make choices. “Dialectical Polyptych” is an interactive movie included in a project called “Characters looking for a spect-actor”, which aims to give the spectator on-the-fly control over film editing, thus exploiting the role of the spectator as an active subject in the presented narrative. This paper presents a system based on a 3D sensor for tracking the spectator's movements and positions, which allows seamless real-timeinteractivity with the movie. Different positions of the body prompt a change in the angle or shot within each narrative, and hand swipes allow the spectator to alternate between the two parallel narratives, both producing a complementary narrative.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

An integrated approach for urban water modelling, linking a watershed hydrological model and a cyanobacteria dynamics model in urban lakes

International audienceIn the future, the frequency and the intensity of cyanobacteria blooms in urban lakes are expected to increase in response to climate change and expanding urbanization. In order to study the impacts of watershed changes on cyanobacteria dynamics in urban lakes, a modelling approach, in which an ecological lake model is connected to a hydrological watershed model, is proposed. To validate this approach, the water quality (temperature, transparency, dissolved oxygen and chlorophyll-a) was monitored at high frequency (5-30 min) on two study sites in contrasted regions (climate, land-use...). In the first part of this paper, we show the advantage of using high-frequency data to simulate cyanobacteria dynamics in Lake Enghien (France), a temperate urban lake. In a second part, the methodology used, to link the ecological lake model and the hydrological watershed model is explained for Lake Pampulha (Brazil), a tropical urban lake. Some preliminary results of the ecological modelling of Lake Pampulha are also presented. The integrated modelling approach proposed, will allow us to study the lake response to different future cenarios of the watershed evolution. Furthermore, high-frequency data are expected to provide a better understanding of the lake functioning during extreme meteorological conditions (e.g. heavy rainfall events or drought)

    Electromagnetic Structure of the Pion

In this work, we analyze the electromagnetic structure of the pion. We calculate its electromagnetic radius and electromagnetic form factor in low and intermediate momentum range. Such observables are determined by means of a theoretical model that takes into account the constituent quark and antiquark of the pion within the formalism of light-front field theory. In particular, we consider a nonsymmetrical vertex in this model, with which we calculate the electromagnetic form factor of the pion in an optimized way, so that we obtain a value closer to the experimental charge radius of the pion. The theoretical calculations are also compared with the most recent experimental data involving the pion electromagnetic form factor and the results show very good agreement.Comment: Paper with 4 pages, 1 figure, presented in XII HADRON PHYSICS Conference - to appear in AIP Conference Proceeding
