A MATERIALIZAÇÃO DA CULTURA NO ESPAÇO: OS CÓDIGOS CULTURAIS E OS PROCESSOS DE IDENTIFICAÇÃO

The culture presupposes all the imaterial and material aspects that pervade a social group, guiding its attitudes in relation to its fellow criatures and its environment. This way, the relation culture-space presupposes the existence of a symbology responsible for its identification, through the materiality of the cultural codes. In this sense, this paper proposes some considerations pertinent to the cultural environment, having as central focus the analysis of the representative aspects of the culture. Under a “geographical look”, the symbology responsible for the culture materialization and identification in space was privileged. For that, we started from the conception of culture for Geography, with considerations pertinent to this thematic in the present time, mainly, as to its use in the academic environment and in common sense. In this way, we approached, mainly, the cultural codes and the cultural identities construction, focusing the main factors thatr act in these two processes inherent to a specific cultural group. In the last stage, a culture-code-identity relation was made, in which it is the base of culture representation. Key words: Culture. Cultural Codes. Cultural Identity. Symbology.A cultura pressupõe todos os aspectos materiais e imateriais que permeiam um grupo social, guiando suas atitudes em relação aos seus semelhantes e ao meio em que vivem. Sendo que, a relação cultura-espaço pressupõe a existência de uma simbologia responsável pela sua identificação, via materialidade dos códigos culturais. Nesse sentido, esse estudo propõe algumas considerações pertinentes ao âmbito cultural, tendo como foco central a análise dos aspectos representativos da cultura. Sob o “olhar geográfico”, privilegiou-se a simbologia responsável pela materialização e identificação da cultura no espaço. Para tanto, partiu-se da concepção de cultura para a Geografia, com reflexões pertinentes a essa temática na atualidade, principalmente, quanto ao seu uso pelo viés acadêmico e pelo senso comum. Desse modo, abordou-se, particularmente, os códigos culturais e a construção de identidades culturais, enfocando os principais fatores que atuam nesses dois processos inerentes a um grupo social específico. REGIÃO, IDENTIDADE CULTURAL E REGIONALISMO: A CAMPANHA GAÚCHA FRENTE ÀS NOVAS DINÂMICAS ESPACIAIS E SEUS REFLEXOS NA RELAÇÃO CAMPO-CIDADE

Ao se resgatar questões como região, identidade regional e regionalismo, na Campanha Gaúcha, observam-se que novas dinâmicas espaciais tem seus reflexos na relação campo-cidade. Pode-se dizer que, a tradicional área de pecuária rio-grandense, tem experimentado transformações no decorrer da evolução do seu espaço produtivo, vinculadas, sobretudo, às questões econômicas. Desde as primeiras estâncias, voltadas à criação de gado no oeste do Rio Grande do Sul, até a atualidade, destacam-se, temporalidades e espacialidades significativas para a definição política, econômica e cultural deste recorte espacial gaúcho. Nesse contexto, propuseram-se algumas reflexões acerca da questão regional implícita na Campanha gaúcha, enfocando aspectos essenciais do processo de reorganização do espaço produtivo local/regional e da identidade cultural na relação campo-cidade

The national inventory of geological heritage: methodological approach and results

A existência de um inventário nacional de património geológico é fundamental para se poderem implementar estratégias de geoconservação. Este trabalho apresenta a metodologia usada no desenvolvimento do mais completo inventário de geossítios, realizado até ao momento em Portugal, assim como os principais resultados obtidos. O inventário vai integrar o Sistema de Informação do Património Natural e o Cadastro Nacional dos Valores Naturais Classificados, ambos geridos pelo Instituto de Conservação da Natureza e da Biodiversidade.The existence of a national inventory of the geological heritage is of paramount importance for the implementation of a geoconservation strategy. This paper presents the methodological approach used to produce the most complete geosites inventory in Portugal, so far, and the obtained results. Os territórios da imigração alemã e italiana no Rio Grande do Sul

Território, cultura e tempo são referências basilares para entender a diversidade territorial que se manifesta no Globo, nos territórios nacionais, nas regiões e mesmo nos lugares, considerando a base espacial transformada pelo homem, como um ser social. Neste sentido, é necessário “recontar”, resgatar a história do território e dos homens que o criaram, para entender a dinâmica atual, a organização e as possibilidades de desenvolvimento futuro. Nesta perspectiva, construímos uma base teórica para compreender o território numa perspectiva multidimensional, destacando os processos culturais e econômicos vinculados à colonização alemã e italiana no Rio Grande do Sul. Tratamos da construção histórica do território, identificando e explicando elementos simbólicos e materiais, isto é, atividades econômicas e políticas desenvolvidas pela sociedade que o constrói, dotando-o de significados. A (i)materialidade do território se reflete na organização da sociedade, em relação aos seus semelhantes e às diferenças, num movimento processual de constante (re)criação, (re)construção, isto é, de territorialização, desterritorialização e reterritorialização (T-D-R). No intuito de compreender a relação território-poder-apropriação simbólica, realizamos pesquisa bibliográfica e empírica, que proporcionou interpretar e analisar a territorialização dos imigrantes alemães e italianos no Rio Grande do Sul e a consequente formação dos territórios da imigração. O território como uma construção histórica, com mudanças e permanências...Territory, culture and time are references to understand the basic territorial diversity manifested in the Globe, within the national territories, regions and even in places, considering the spatial base transformed by man, as a social being. In this sense, it is necessary to retell, rescue the story of the territory and the men who created it, to understand the current dynamics, the organization and the possibilities for future development. In this perspective, we built a theoretical foundation for understanding the territory in a multidimensional perspective, highlighting the cultural and economic processes tied to the German and Italian colonization in Rio Grande do Sul. We treated the historical construction of the territory, identifying and explaining symbolic and material elements, that is, economic activities and policies developed by the society that builds it, giving it meaning. The (i) materiality of the territory is reflected in the organization of society in relation to their peers and to the differences, in a procedural motion of constant (re) creation, (re) construction, that is, territorialization, desterritorialization and reterritorialization (T-D-R). A região cultural como categoria de análise da materialização da cultura no espaço Gaúcho

The regional matter, at the present time, presents different analysis perspectives which can be evidenced by the transformations imposed by the globalization process in the space organization. In this perspective, this paper intends to consider the area under the optics of culture, considering it as a true promoter agent of the space cuttings, once they are constituted in one of the structural pillars that obstruct the homogenization of the cultural codes, taking the responsibility for the diversity in ways of organization of the space. The concept of region is focused through symbolic processes inherent to culture, which materializes, in the space, its characteristic forms, originating regional cuttings with cultural connotation, in other words, the cultural areas. RIO GRANDE DO SUL: UMA PROPOSTA DE REGIONALIZAÇÃO GEOECONÔMICA / Rio Grande do Sul: a proposal of geoeconomic regionalization

The regional approach reflects the society-nature inter-relation in different nuances goingfrom the onstruction of the geographical space. The focus of the research was defined from theobjectives proposed for the regional analysis, once the same embodies the human aspects andthe relations that mantain between each other in the production and reproduction of the space.Having as central focus the southern regional matter (in Rio Grande do Sul), it was proposedthe regionalization of the state, considering its geoeconomical aspects. Such proposition of study divided seven geoeconomic regions and sub-regions, in which the main productiveactivities of the state were developed, based, mainly, in farming. Considering the transformationsimposed here by capital, as reorganizer agent of the spacial standards, and responsiblefor its flexibility, front to the requirements imposed by the globalization process, it was tried toclassify the geoeconomic regions according to its dynamics and according the new economicagents that are inserted in this space. It was possible to observe that, therefore, the similaritiesand singularities materialized in the state territory throught the accumulation of practicesturned to the economical production, strictly linked to the question of cultural identity becauseof the expression of regionalism in the Rio Grande do Sul state
