Developing a mathematical model of a horizontal looper taking into account the features of a steel strip

    Get PDF
Modern cold rolling mills include devices that form a reserve of strip to ensure the continuous operation of the line. Such devices include a horizontal looper containing a direct current drive. The disadvantage of the existing horizontal looper is significant oscillations of the metal strip in the process of its filling, with the maximum amplitude of oscillations occurring when the strip is completely filled. To study the oscillatory processes in the strip, a model of an electromechanical system has been developed. The necessity of taking into account mechanical properties of the steel strip in the development of a model of an electromechanical system has been substantiated. Mathematical and simulation models of a horizontal looper were developed in two extreme positions. The simulation models have been implemented in the MatLab software package. The results of simulation studies showed satisfactory convergence of the experiments with the physical process. © 2020 Ye.V. Kuntush et al

Analysis of the influence of the parameters of the power supply network on the operating modes of the electric drives of the stands of the hot rolling mill 1700 of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC

The finishing group of stands of the 1700 SRS-1 continuous mill of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC is characterized by high rolling speeds and high productivity. The use of DC motors as power sources for the main drives of the stands of high-power thyristor converter units significantly affects the nature of the operating modes of the power supply system and the quality of electricity on the buses of the SRS-1 substation. Experiments were performed to study the electricity grid supply substation in which the basic indexes of quality of electric energy and the built waveform voltage SAG during rolling. Voltage dips are observed throughout the rolling process and reach 10% of the rated network voltage. Due to the complexity of removing individual parameters of electric drives and conducting experiments on a real mill, an adequate model of the electric drive of the stand of the finishing group of the 1700 SRS-1 mill was developed and built. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

Having joint to the Bologna convention in 2010, Kazakhstan has clearly emphasized furthervector of its movement – tendency to integration together with allHEuropean educational space. In Kazakhstan national credit system of higher education including the assessment of labor credits of each studying discipline and educational program based on AngloHSaxon credit model of education is created.Students of Kazakhstan study not only at universities of Europe, which implemented theEuropean credit system, but also at universities of America, Europe, Asia and Australia focused on other credit systems.According to the State Program of Education Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011 – 2020 the further reforms, which reduce the impact of centralized regulation and supervision and focus on the development of autonomy and academic freedom of universities, are planned.A gradual transfer from the technologies of studying abroad by the scheme: a student of Kazakhstan – the state – a foreign university, which exists nowadays, to the system of academic mobility: a university of Kazakhstan – a student – a foreign university with the financial support from the state is proposed

Development of Low-pressure Electric Steam Heater

The study was devoted to solving the issue of creating new electric heating devices that can be used in autonomous heat supply systems. The issues were resolved by developing an original low-pressure electric steam heater. The study was aimed at improving the efficiency of heat supply systems for buildings and structures. Given the current trends in the global striving for energy conservation, it cannot be fully realized without the introduction of high-tech and low-energy-consuming electrical equipment. As a result of theoretical studies of a heat pipe with an electric heater, a design of an electrovacuum heating element has been developed. The low-pressure electric steam heater can be used in heat supply systems of autonomous users. Thermal energy transfer is currently accompanied by substantial energy losses since the heat carrier has to pass considerable distances. Switching of the facility to the heating plant is impossible in some cases because of technical problems or significant material costs for laying pipelines. As a result of the study, the dependence of heating the heat pipe at various volumes of the heat carrier and mass of the pipe itself was established. When a certain mass is reached, the temperature of the heating surfaces can reach 70 °C which is considered acceptable. The experimental data obtained have made it possible to develop an electric heater of new generation with a fundamentally new design of the heating element. It combines the efficiency of an electric spiral and comfortable warmth from a traditional radiator. This heater is an explosion and fire-safe and can be integrated into the Smart Home syste

Isodensity analysis of comets using the collection of digitized Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory photographic plates

© 2019 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim The field of astronomy dealing with comets is an important component of modern space investigations. This applies both to the study of physical, chemical, and evolutionary parameters and to the determination of connections between meteor showers and their parental bodies. This paper considers the isodensity analysis of Arend-Roland, 45P/Honda, and Bennett comets using the measurements of photographic plates performed at Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory. On the basis of a software aimed at analyzing the brightness of digital images, structural models for three comets were developed. The isophotes of their nuclei, comas, and tails were determined as well. As the cometary nuclei are the elements of dynamical evolution and processes in the Solar Nebula, the study of a digital database on comets will allow refining the theory of their formation and evolution

The transfer of educational technologies of the OECD countries for higher technical education in the CIS requires significant financial and material resources. It is advisable to unite pedagogical teams and the laboratory base of universities that train specialists in related specialties using the Internet. The international scientific and educational network Internet project “Synergy” has been implemented with the support of the concern “Festo” (Germany). The universities directly involved in the regular educational activities of the project are NIU Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, the Baltic State Technical University “VOENMECH” named after D.F. Ustinova, Omsk State Technical University and Karaganda State Technical University. The laboratories of the project participants are equipped with modern training stands and multimedia tools for conducting on-line courses and laboratory work in the remote access mode produced by the leading domestic and foreign companies including world leaders in the field of automation and robotics Festo, Siemens, Mitsubishi Auto Electrician.Regular online training has been organized with the use of exchange, composite and embedded module courses. The experience gained in the process of project implementation became the basis for the development of a new interdisciplinary program for the specialized magistracy as “Robotics. Control systems” for the Kazakhstan industry. The international university network project “Synergy” can become the basis for the practical implementation of the principles of the Bologna process, taking into account the specifics of the CIS countries
