Determining proficiency in a heritage language: A comparison of different testing methods based on Polish as a heritage language in Germany

The paper discusses several methods of evaluating heritage speakers’ abilities in their heritage language. Speech rate in spontaneous text production, lexical knowledge and grammatical proficiency in the heritage language have been found to correlate strongly with one another. Therefore, they are recommended in the literature as quick and reliable diagnostics for establishing the general degree of heritage language maintenance among heritage speakers. Based on data from 20 heritage speakers of Polish in Germany, the current paper shows that lexical and grammatical proficiency are indeed strongly correlated, but speech rate did not turn out to be an indicator for heritage language proficiency in the examined population

The New Istanbul Grand Airport (IGA) Status

Mr Irfan Gündüz started his speech by stating that the Istanbul Grand Airport (IGA) is aimed to be opened in the beginning of 2018. He further stated the new airport project is conducted on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis. The airport will be managed by the company for 25 years before it is transferred to another company in 2043. Microstructure and mechanical properties of stable austenitic steel after thermomechanical treatment

The features of microstructure and mechanical properties of stable austenitic steel after thermomechanical treatment consist of low-temperature deformation, warm deformation and subsequent annealing have been investigated. It is shown that under these conditions in the steel direct (γ → α')- and inverse (α' → γ)-martensitic transformations are realized. As a result of the thermomechanical treatment submicrocrystalline structural states with a high density of micro- and nanotwins and localized deformation bands are formed. The yield strength of these structural states more than 3 times increases by the original value

Lectin prospecting in Colombian Labiatae. A systematic-ecological approach. - II

This is the second study of lectin and mucilage detection in Labiatae nutlets from Colombia. It was carried out on 31 taxa belonging to 7 genera in which no previous studies have been carried out in this field. A differential response was observed in the group of genera and species studied in terms of mucilage presence as well as lectin activity which consistently increased following extract treatment with Pectinex. Lectin activity was detected in 28 species, being important (greater than 60% activity) in at least 75% of them. Genera such as Hyptis, Scutellaria, Aegiphila and Lepechinia, whilst not presenting mucilage, did present lectin activity, having high activity in most cases. By contrast, Salvia (in all sections studied) presented mucilage and important lectin activity.Este es el segundo estudio sobre la presencia de mucílagos y lectinas en núculas de Labiadas colombianas. Se llevó a cabo en 31 taxones, pertenecientes a siete géneros, sobre los cuales no se disponía de información en este campo. Se observó una respuesta diferencial en los géneros y especies en lo relativo a la presencia de mucílago y a la actividad de lectina que se incrementó de manera consistente después de tratar los extractos con Pectinex. Se detectó actividad de lectina en 28 especies, siendo muy importante (mayor del 60%) en al menos 75% de ellas. Aunque los géneros Hyptis, Scutellaria, Aegiphila y Lepechinia no presentaron mucílago, su actividad de la lectina fue alta. Анализ физико-химических методов борьбы с осложнениями при эксплуатации высокообводненных скважин

Цель работы – анализ физико-химических методов борьбы с осложнениями при эксплуатации высокообводнённых скважин, определение их эффективности на опыте использования нефтедобывающими компаниями. В выпускной квалификационной работе представлены сведения о видах осложнений и причинах их возникновения при эксплуатации высокообводненных скважин. Рассмотрены физико-химические методы направленные на борьбу с осложнениями различного происхождения. Проанализированы результаты применения представленных физико-химических методов борьбы с осложнениями различных нефтедобывающих компаний и сформулированы выводы об эффективности их внедрения.The aim of the work is to analyze the physicochemical methods of combating complications in the operation of highly watered wells and to determine their effectiveness on the experience of using oil producing companies. In the final qualifying work information on the types of complications and the causes of their occurrence during the operation of highly watered wells are presented. Physicochemical methods aimed at combating complications of various origins are considered. The results of the application of the physicochemical methods of combating the complications of various oil producing companies are analyzed and conclusions on the effectiveness of their implementation are formulated
