The arrival of the 5G network in Croatia encourages the increasing use of mobile networks in all areas of human life, including sports. To see the possibility of using mobile networks for recreation purposes, measurements of air interfaces of 4G and 5G mobile networks on 3 routes for recreation in the city of Zagreb were carried out. A detailed analysis of important radio parameters that are essential for high-quality data transmission between the base station and the user was made, as well as an analysis of the quality of the user experience (QoE) through two main parameters that are observed: the speed of user data transmission in the downlink (downlink bit rate) and the delay (latency, response) of the network. The measurement results for 4G and 5G mobile networks are compared. The possible ways of using mobile networks on the measured routes are listed considering the measurement results

Considerations of national culture's role in explaining competitiveness

This paper aims to map the connection between national culture and competitiveness. Competitiveness includes the set of institutions, policies, and factors that determine the level of productivity of a country. Although competitiveness can be a result of several drivers, we argue that as some of these are people driven, competitiveness must be related to basic underlying assumptions, espoused values and artefacts shared by the people from the observed entity. This makes competitiveness closely related to national and organizational culture. Cross-country analysis has indicated that national culture features do have an impact on national competitiveness. The empirical analysis of global competitiveness index and Hofstedeā€™s cultural variables has shown that uncertainty avoidance index negatively affects competitiveness, but long term orientation index affects competitiveness in a positive way. Therefore, policy makers should be aware that not only tangible economic factors lead to competitiveness but intangible factors such as culture should also be considered in attempts to improve competitiveness

Robust High-Dynamic-Range Vector Magnetometry via Nitrogen-Vacancy Centers in Diamond

We demonstrate a robust, scale-factor-free vector magnetometer, which uses a closed-loop frequency-locking scheme to simultaneously track Zeeman-split resonance pairs of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond. Compared with open-loop methodologies, this technique is robust against fluctuations in temperature, resonance linewidth, and contrast; offers a three-order-of-magnitude increase in dynamic range; and allows for simultaneous interrogation of multiple transition frequencies. By directly detecting the resonance frequencies of NV centers aligned along each of the diamond's four tetrahedral crystallographic axes, we perform full vector reconstruction of an applied magnetic field

Remote Sensing and Control of Phase Qubits

We demonstrate a remote sensing design of phase qubits by separating the control and readout circuits from the qubit loop. This design improves measurement reliability because the control readout chip can be fabricated using more robust materials and can be reused to test different qubit chips. Typical qubit measurements such as Rabi oscillations, spectroscopy, and excited-state energy relaxation are presented.Comment: 3 pages, 4 figure
