Chlorella vulgaris biomass enriched by biosorption of polyphenols
Cell walls of microalgae are variable and contain non-specific domains where different molecules can bind. The enrichment of microalgal biomass with nutrients through adsorption can be an interesting process for the food and feed industry. In this study, naturally occurring polyphenols ((+)-catechin, ()-epicatechin, quercetin, rutin and xanthohumol) were adsorbed onto nonliving cells of freshwater microalgae Chlorella vulgaris. The essential adsorption parameters such as biomass dose and contact time were examined and the adsorption was quantified with Langmuir, Sips and DubininRadushkevich adsorption isotherms. The evaluation of isotherms proved the highest affinity towards Chlorella vulgaris biomass for xanthohumol and quercetin. The biosorption mechanism of Chlorella vulgaris biomass was well described by a pseudo second order kinetic model, with a high regression coefficient. The polyphenol-enriched microalgal biomass was also evaluated for its antioxidant activity. The highest antioxidant activity was detected in the case of biomass enriched with quercetin (77.5% of decolorized DPPH).The financial support by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic through grant MSM6046137305 is gratefully acknowledged. "Aunt Julia" and Vargas Llosa: Literary character of two autobiographies
Rozebere literárnĂ charakter obou dÄ›l a spolu s nĂm i Ăşmysl obou autorĹŻ pĹ™i vĂ˝stavbÄ› svĂ˝ch knih. Práce u obou textĹŻ analyzuje jejich kompozici, ÄŤas, vypravěče a styl. KromÄ› toho práce takĂ© rozebĂrá text Julie Urquidi a zasazuje ho do kontextu dĂla Vargase Llosy. The work will focus on the comparison of Maria Vargas Llosa's autobiographical novel Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter (La TĂa Julia y el escribidor, 1977), where its one half tells a story of his marriage to his "aunt" and the other half presents fictional radio stories, and the autobiographical text What Varguitas didn't say (Lo que Varguitas no dijo, 1983), which is a response to this book, in which the author Julia Urquidi wrote her own version of the relationship with Mario Vargas Llosa. The work focuses on the differences between these two books, which tell the story of the same relationship, but from a different perspective. It will analyze the literary character of both works and with it the intention of both authors during the construction of their books. The work will analyze the composition, time, narrator and style of both books. Especially in the novel Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter, it focuses on the author's play with autobiographical and fictional elements. The work tries to find an answer to the question of how much fiction can be combined with reality and to what extent it can be used in an autobiographical text and vice versa. The work also analyzes the text of Julia Urquidi and places it in the context of the work of Mario Vargas Llosa.Ăšstav románskĂ˝ch studiĂInstitute of Romance StudiesFaculty of ArtsFilozofická fakult
Experimental Plan for the Project: Electrocoagulation Unit for Microalgal Biomass Separation.
Electrofloculation (electrocoagulation) of microalgae is a highly complex process involving a number of very complex transport, electrochemical, hydrodynamic and surface phenomena. The description of this process at the level of single mechanisms involved is too complicated and experimentally demanding, fortunately it is not absolutely necessary for the practical application. The electrofloculation was therefore approached by an engineering method that identified the criteria (range) of the desired variables and the main factors that affect them. For these factors, partial factorial experimental plans were designed
Experimental Report, Period 9-12/2017, Project: Electrocoagulation Unit for Microalgal Biomass Separation.
Production of microalgae in the world is increasing every year, but their use in food, cosmetics, feed and biofuel production is still limited by the high production price and high energy input. The substantial part of the energy costs lies in the separation of algal biomass from the medium, which is most often performed on plate centrifuges. The harvest concentration of algal suspensions in most cultivation systems ranges between just 1-5 g/L. Therefore, to obtain 1 kg of dry biomass, it is necessary to remove 200 to 1000 liters of water (by centrifuging and then drying). This amount of water and thus the energy input can be reduced via flocculation added as a pre-step prior to centrifugation. Electrofloculation is type of floculation, where the flocculant is directly formed by dissolving the electrodes. Suitable electrode material and parameter set enable obtaining of biomass, which is not contaminated by chemical flocculants and meets requirements for food stuff. The main objective of this project is to develop a continuous electroflocculation device suitable for these purposes.\

Feminism and femininity in the poems of Alfonsina Storni
The work focuses on the work of Argentinean author Alfonsina Storni, especially in connection with the new wave of feminism at the beginning of the 20th century. The chosen topic will be set in a wider context, including social conditions, political situation and society's opinions of female authors at the beginning of the twentieth century in Latin America. All these factors will then be used in a detailed analysis of the author's verses. The aim of the work is to define the style of Alfonsina Storni and, based on the content of her poems, to get an overview of her femininity, her relationship to men and how she succeeded in linking modernism with feminism. To all this I will also add the differences between feminism in the life of Alfonsina Storni and the one of today. All this on the basis of her work. Key words: Alfonsina Storni, poetry, feminism, Argentina
Feminism and femininity in the poems of Alfonsina Storni
