Смешанный клеточный метод умножения матриц

Запропоновано змішаний клітинний метод множення матриць, який сполучає метод Штрассена зі швидким клітинним методом множення матриць, взаємодія яких мінімізує на 25 % мультиплікативну та адитивну складності відомих алгоритмів матричного множення. Наведено оцінки обчислювальної складності клітинних аналогів зазначених алгоритмів, отриманих на основі змішаного методу.A mixed cellular method of matrix multiplication is proposed that combines the Strassen method with a fast cellular method of matrix multiplication. The interaction of these methods makes it possible to decrease the multiplicative and additive complexities of well-known matrix multiplication algorithms by 25%. Estimates of computational complexity of cellular analogues of the mentioned algorithms are given

В статье рассматривается специфика внутренней формы синтаксических дериватов, которую предлагается обозначить термином "грамматикализованная". На примере существительных адъективного склонения, наречий/наречных выражений и отглагольных прилагательных анализируется механизм речевой "обратной" морфолого-синтаксической транспозиции, в основе которого лежит инициируемая внутренней формой транспозитов и квазитранспозитов грамматическая рефлексия говорящих.У статті розглядається специфіка внутрішньої форми синтаксичних деріватов, яку пропонується позначити терміном "граматикалізована". На прикладі іменників ад'єктивного відміни, наречий/наречных виразів і віддієслівних прикметників аналізується механізм мовної "зворотної" морфолого-синтаксичної транспозиції, в основі якого лежить ініційована внутрішньою формою транспозітів і квазітранспозітов граматична рефлексія говорючих.The article examines the specificity of internal form of syntactic derivatives, which is to be named as "grammaticalized" one. By the example of substantives of adjective declension model, adverbs/adverb expressions and verbal adjectives, the author analyzes the mechanism of speech "reverse" morphological-syntactic transposition, and it is speaker grammatical reflexion initiated by internal form of transposites and "quasi-transposites" what underlies this mechanism

Sample collection as a social process: The influence of interaction between doping control officers and athletes on the implementation of anti-doping policy

In anti-doping policy, the doping control process is approached from a technical point of view in which sample collection is a mechanical part of a standard procedure. In this study, we problematise that perspective by critically examining sample collection as a social process: an encounter between a front-line worker–the Doping Control Officer (DCO)–and a reviewed person–the athlete–who interact with each other. Building on Lipsky’s theory of street level bureaucracy and Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective, we analyse how sample collection works in practice, what strategies DCOs employ to deal with this intrusive process, and what influence their interaction with athletes has on the implementation of anti-doping policy. As DCOs have less clients, discretion, and autonomy, they differ from many other front-line workers. Nonetheless, sample collection is not a standardised practice that takes the same form and meaning independent of the situation at hand. DCOs and athletes make use of skills and strategies that allow them to follow strict procedures on the one hand and create a human, workable relationship on the other. Displaying dramaturgical loyalty, discipline, and circumspection, DCOs step out of their roles, show emotions and look for the boundaries of what is permissible. This does not necessarily mean that the reliability and credibility of anti-doping policy is at stake. It actually increases athletes’ confidence in doping procedures. It does, however, raise the question whether the ability of DCOs to apply discretion may elicit inequitable results in different settings worldwide

The paradox of measuring success of nations in elite sport

The achievement of international and especially Olympic sporting success is increasingly important to a growing number of countries. It is however not clear how success is defined and can be measured. The number of medals won in Olympics Games and other international sport competitions offers the most self-evident and transparent measure of success in high performance sport. In this article different methods to measure success of nations are compared. Market share was identified as the best measure of absolute success which enables meaningful time series analysis to be conducted. A Linear regression analysis is used to introduce relative success as a measurement of success when controlling for macro determinants such as population and wealth. This method allows comparing nations on more equal grounds, which is necessary if one wants to measure effectiveness of elite sport policies. Similar analysis is done for Olympic Summer and Winter Sports. It is concluded that conflicting results can be given on nations’ success. Defining success therefore depends on the purpose wherefore it is used and on the priorities of individual nations.Les performances sportives au niveau international, et particulièrement au niveau olympique, prennent de plus en plus d’importance pour un nombre croissant de nations. Mais il n’est pas évident de définir ni de mesurer le succès. Le nombre de médailles gagnées lors de Jeux olympiques ou autres compétitions internationales représente la mesure la plus objectivable et la plus transparente du succès dans le sport de haut niveau. Dans cet article, nous comparons différentes méthodes permettant de mesurer ce genre de performances. La part de marché a été identifiée comme la meilleure mesure de succès absolu permettant de procéder à une analyse de séries temporelles significative. Une analyse en régression linéaire est utilisée pour présenter le succès relatif comme mesure du succès lorsqu’on maîtrise des facteurs macro-déterminants tels que la population et la richesse. Cette méthode permet de comparer les différents pays sur des bases plus égales, ce qui est indispensable si l’on veut mesurer l’efficacité des politiques en matière de sport d’élite. Nous procédons ensuite à une analyse similaire pour les Jeux olympiques d’été et d’hiver, avant de conclure que nous parvenons à des résultats contradictoires quant aux performances des différents pays. En effet, le succès dépend du but dans lequel on l’utilise ainsi que des priorités de chaque nation

Match-Fixing in European Sports: Attitudes and Experiences

Over the past years, the scholarly interest in match-fixing has grown. Although several empirical studies have tried to map the prevalence of match-fixing, the scope has often been limited to a given country, sports discipline, level of sports, and/or type of match-fixing. Moreover, match-fixing is often stereotyped as a problem caused by external criminals, while match-fixing by internal stakeholders occurs on a larger scale. When it comes to internal stakeholders, research to date has mainly focused on the vulnerability of athletes and referees to match-fixing. Nevertheless, other internal stakeholders in sports can also be the instigators of match-fixing, and may have different attitudes toward match-fixing. This study aims to fill these gaps by examining match-fixing among various internal stakeholders (n = 4958) involved in different sports across Europe. The results showed that internal stakeholders’ attitudes toward match-fixing were not uniform. Additionally, almost one fifth of the respondents indicated (in)direct match-fixing incidents in the questionnaire. The majority of the cases concerned sporting-related match-fixing, while our results also revealed that sporting- and betting-related match-fixing can happen together. By examining various internal stakeholders’ attitudes toward and experiences with match-fixing in European sports, this study could navigate future match-fixing prevention initiatives
