On the electronic properties of GaSb irradiated with reactor neutrons and its charge neutrality level

    Get PDF
The electronic properties and the limiting position of the Fermi level in p-GaSb crystals irradiated with full-spectrum reactor neutrons at up to a fluence of 8.6 × 1018 cm−2 are studied. It is shown that the irradiation of GaSb with reactor neutrons results in an increase in the concentration of free holes to p lim = (5−6) × 1018 cm−3 and in pinning of the Fermi level at the limiting position F lim close to E V + 0.02 eV at 300 K. The effect of the annealing of radiation defects in the temperature range 100–550°C is explored

In this article considers the effectiveness of the impact of sports on the functionality of the cardiovascular system of girls 17-21 years old living within the Podolsk region. The function of the cardiovascular system of girls was evaluated by the ability to recover after termination of work (by the parameters of heart rate). Classes cycling and playing sports (performance of muscle work of which is connected with the mixed mode of power supply) and martial arts (performance of muscular work is associated with anaerobic (lactate) mode of power supply) contribute to improvement the functional possibilities of the cardiovascular system. This is manifested by the acceleration of recovery of heart rate after metered physical loads of 1 watts and 2 watts per 1 kg of body weight. The smallest percentage of person with a slow recovery of heart rate were detected among athletes, volleyball players and representatives of complex coordination sports. These individuals are involved in the performing of physical exercise with anaerobic (alactate) processes of metabolism. In this article considers the effectiveness of the impact of sports on the functionality of the cardiovascular system of girls 17-21 years old living within the Podolsk region. Replacement of buffer gas with nitrogen in gas storage formations (models, methods, numerical experiments)

    Get PDF
The paper gives description of the object of study - reservoir of the underground gas storage facility. A problem of replacement of buffer gas with nitrogen is raised and the problem formulations for its candidate solution are shown. A mathematical model of replacing buffer gas with nitrogen is proposed, which includes filtering model and convection model - diffusion of gases with concentrated sources. For the cases of unmixing gases the algorithm was developed for finding the propagation path of nitrogen. Numerical experiments were carried out

Optimal design of turbines taking into consideration the mode of operation

    Get PDF
The technique of turbines parameters optimization taking into consideration a variable mode of their operation has been developed. Block-hierarchical representation of design process is used. The hierarchy of local optimization problems is organized by a functional sign and realized in a common information space. The structure of optimization technique is shown, and also the analysis of the data streams uniting these problems in unified process of optimal design is resulted. By means of the developed technique optimal design of the 4-stage turbine expander with rated power 4 MW has been performed. Results of the design are presented and analyzed

On the appearance of space temperature electric structures in hyperconductors under high magnetic fields

    Get PDF
As part of the study of low temperature galvanomagnetic properties of high purity A1 in the Corbino geometry the voltage-current characteristics (IV) under external transverse magnetic field in the regime of given current revealed the effects of voltage stabilization. Here we attempt to ascribe these phenomena to appearance in the sample of bulk temperature structures characteristic of highly nonequilibrium systems. Joule’s heat of flowing electric current gives rise to disk warming. We also discuss the problems of the influence of warming in disks on the phenomena of electric transport with allowance for own magnetic fields being generated in disk

Search for double beta decay of 136^{136}Ce and 138^{138}Ce with HPGe gamma detector

Search for double β\beta decay of 136^{136}Ce and 138^{138}Ce was realized with 732 g of deeply purified cerium oxide sample measured over 1900 h with the help of an ultra-low background HPGe γ\gamma detector with a volume of 465 cm3^3 at the STELLA facility of the Gran Sasso National Laboratories of the INFN (Italy). New improved half-life limits on double beta processes in the cerium isotopes were set at the level of limT1/210171018\lim T_{1/2}\sim 10^{17}-10^{18}~yr; many of them are even two orders of magnitude larger than the best previous results.Comment: 21 pages, 6 figures, 3 tables; version accepted for publication on Nucl. Joule Heating and Current-Induced Instabilities in Magnetic Nanocontacts

We consider the electrical current through a magnetic point contact in the limit of a strong inelastic scattering of electrons. In this limit local Joule heating of the contact region plays a decisive role in determining the transport properties of the point contact. We show that if an applied constant bias voltage exceeds a critical value, the stationary state of the system is unstable, and that periodic, non-harmonic oscillations in time of both the electrical current through the contact and the local temperature in the contact region develop spontaneously. Our estimations show that the necessary experimental conditions for observing such oscillations with characteristic frequencies in the range 108÷10910^8 \div 10^9 Hz can easily be met. We also show a possibility to manipulate upon the magnetization direction of a magnetic grain coupled through a point contact to a bulk ferromagnetic by exciting the above-mentioned thermal-electric oscillations.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Physical Review

New limits on 2ε2\varepsilon, εβ+\varepsilon\beta^+ and 2β+2\beta^+ decay of 136^{136}Ce and 138^{138}Ce with deeply purified cerium sample

A search for double electron capture (2ε2\varepsilon), electron capture with positron emission (εβ+\varepsilon\beta^+), and double positron emission 2β+2\beta^+) in 136^{136}Ce and 138^{138}Ce was realized with a 465 cm3^3 ultra-low background HP Ge γ\gamma spectrometer over 2299 h at the Gran Sasso underground laboratory. A 627 g sample of cerium oxide deeply purified by liquid-liquid extraction method was used as a source of γ\gamma quanta expected in double β\beta decay of the cerium isotopes. New improved half-life limits were set on different modes and channels of double β\beta decay of 136^{136}Ce and 138^{138}Ce at the level of T1/2>10171018T_{1/2}>10^{17}-10^{18} yr.Comment: 19 pages, 6 figures, 2 table
