O presente trabalho apresenta uma análise da cascata no rio Passo dos Índios na cidade de Chapecó enquanto geossítio. A escolha do local deve-se pela beleza cênica evidenciando a diversidade geomorfológica. Para a análise foram consideradas as classificações sobre ameaças à geodiversidade, tipos de valores e métodos de geoconservação. O conhecimento geocientífico da área contribui com a conservação do geodiversidade, o acesso ao geossítio e o planejamento ambiental por parte do Poder Público
