Impact of new collider data on fits and extrapolations of cross sections and slopes
The latest Collider data are compared with our earlier extrapolations. Fits that include the new data are made. Those for which sigma/sub tot/ grows as log/sup 2/(s/s/sub o/) indefinitely give a significantly poorer chi/sup 2/ than those for which sigma/sub tot/ eventually levels out. For the proposed SSC energy for the former fits predict sigma/sub tot/(..sqrt..s = 40 TeV) approx. =200 mb while the latter give sigma/sub tot/(..sqrt..s = 40 TeV) approx. = 100 mb. 6 refs
Composition Of ω-3 And ω-6 Fatty Acids In Freeze-dried Chicken Embryo Eggs With Different Days Of Development
Fatty acids ω-3 and ω-6 composition and specially DHA were determined in freeze-dried chicken embryo eggs with pre-determined incubation periods. Fertile and embryo eggs presented palmitic (23.18 ± 0.54%), stearic (7.70 ± 0.28%), palmitoleic (3.00 ± 0.19%), oleic (36.28 ± 0.58%), linoleic (22.18 ± 0.34%), linolenic (1.08 ± 0.04%), arachidonic (2.04 ± 0.03%), docosahexaenoic (0.91 ± 0.03%), total ω-3 acids (2.26 ± 0.10%) and total ω-6 acids (24.62 ± 0.33%). There were no significant differences in total contents of ω-3 fatty acids (p=0.1226) between freeze-dried chicken embryo eggs with different incubation periods (3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 days) and fertile freeze-dried chicken eggs (day 0). However, there were significant differences in total medium contents of ω-6 fatty acids (P=0.001). There was also a strong statistical evidence that quadratic model was related with expected values of DHA content (p= 0.0013).472219224Abril, R., Barclay, B., Fatty acid analysis of poultry eggs as methyl esters (1999) Método OT-GCPE, Rev. 3.1, , OmegaTech. Analysis of forward and near-forward elastic-scattering amplitudes for pp and anti pp collisions
We will present the results of two recently published (1983) papers by M.M. Block and R.N. Cahn, which analyze for anti pp and pp elastic scattering the rho values (ratios of the real to the imaginary parts of the forward nuclear scattering amplitudes), the total (hadronic) cross sections sigma, and the b values, the nuclear slope parameters. The predictions of the analyses, from ..sqrt.. s bar > 5 GeV, is compared with the recently measured values of sigma and b at the SPS Collider. The analysis has also been redone to include new ISR data available from R211 at ..sqrt.. s bar = 62.5 GeV, in order to estimate odderon contributions, i.e., contributions from odd amplitudes with unconventional (non-Reggeon) energy dependence. Limits of approx. 1% are placed on these amplitudes. Our analysis has been extrapolated up to 100 TeV, to give sigma, rho and b predictions for cosmic ray and future collider energies

HIGH ENERGY pp AND pp FORWARD ELASTIC SCATTERING AND TOTAL CROSS SECTIONS
The present status of elastic pp and pp¯ scattering in the high-energy domain is reviewed, with emphasis on the forward and near-forward regions. The experimental techniques for measuring σtot, ρ, and B are discussed, emphasizing the importance of the region in which the nuclear and Coulomb scattering interfere. The impact-parameter representation is exploited to give simple didactic demonstrations of important rigorous theorems based on analyticity, and to illuminate the significance of the slope parameter B and the curvature parameter C. Models of elastic scattering are discussed, and a criterion for the onset of "asymptopia" is given. A critique of dispersion relations is presented. Simple analytic functions are used to fit simultaneously the real and imaginary parts of forward scattering amplitudes for both pp and pp¯, obtained from experimental data for σtot and ρ. It is found that a good fit can be obtained using only five parameters (with a cross section rising as ln2s), over the energy range
