    Amalan Pengajaran Guru LINUS-Literasi

    LINUS ialah program yang dilaksanakan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) di sekolah rendah di seluruh Malaysia. LINUS ialah akronim kepada saringan Literasi dan Numerasi (Literacy and Numeracy Screening) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan tahap penguasaan asas literasi dan numerasi murid-murid tahap satu. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau amalan pengajaran dari segi teknik guru yang mengajar LINUS-Literasi Bahasa Malaysia. Bersandarkan kepada Teori Behaviorisme dan Teori Jean Piaget, guru LINUS perlu berinovasi dengan menggunakan teknik pengajaran yang sesuai dengan tahap kebolehan murid LINUS agar dapat membantu murid yang bermasalah dari segi menguasai kemahiran asas literasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui soalan temubual, analisis dokumen dan pemerhatian, penyelidikan ini menggunakan pendekatan kaedah kualitatif. Hasil kajian ini diharap dapat memberi input kepada guru yang mengajar LINUS-Literasi Bahasa Malaysia

    Newly Developed Nonlinear Vehicle Model for an Active Anti-roll Bar System

    This paper presents the development of a newly developed nonlinear vehicle model is used in the validation process of the vehicle model. The parameters chosen in a newly developed vehicle model is developed based on CARSIM vehicle model by using non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm version II (NSGA-II) optimization method. The ride comfort and handling performances have been one of the main objective to fulfil the expectation of customers in the vehicle development. Full nonlinear vehicle model which consists of ride, handling and Magic tyre subsystems has been derived and developed in MATLAB/Simulink. Then, optimum values of the full nonlinear vehicle parameters are investigated by using NSGA-II. The two objective functions are established based on RMS error between simulation and benchmark system. A stiffer suspension provides good stability and handling during manoeuvres while softer suspension gives better ride quality. The final results indicated that the newly developed nonlinear vehicle model is behaving accurately with input ride and manoeuvre. The outputs trend are successfully replicated

Quantitative methods have been used by distributing questionnaires to target groups. The results of this study found that the perception of society towards graffiti art has been associated with some of these factors. Culvert-culvert ini digunapakai semula dan disusun bagi mewujudkan satu inovasi baharu yang dinamakan Tukun PROKA. Tukun PROKA telahpun selamat dilabuhkan di Perairan Sematan. Dengan wujudkan Tukun PROKA ini, ianya dapat membantu perairan Sarawak mewujudkan ekosistem atau tempat tinggal dan perlindungan bagi hidupan laut serta pembentukan batu-batu karang dan membantu dari serangan pukat-pukat tunda. Dengan wujudnya Tukun PROKA inilah nelayan-nelayan kampung dapat memperolehi ikan-ikan dan hidupan laut yang lebih bermutu dan banyak

    Anchor Bolt Position in Base Plate In Terms Of T and J Anchor Bolt

    Generally, L anchor bolt system has been used for a long period of time in construction industry as one of the distributing load structures. However, there are some weaknesses in L anchor bolt which may straighten and pullup when charged with tensile load. Current practices prefer to use other types of anchor bolt systems, such as headed studs anchor bolt system to replace the L anchor bolt design. There has been lack of studies to prove that it is more effective in terms of performance. A new T anchor bolt which was basically modified from headed studs anchor bolt was proposed in this study to compare its performance of tensile loading in concrete failure to typical L design. This study aims to determine whether the T anchor bolt system gives better performance as compared to an L anchor bolt system. The performance was rated based on tensile loading on concrete failure pattern. A pullout test was conducted on two different anchor bolt systems, namely L and T. The anchor bolt embedded depth, h in concrete were varied according to their hook or bend radius. Each sample was repeated twice. There were totally eight samples. The hook or bend radius used were 50 mm and 57.5 mm for sample L1 and L2, respectively. 90-degree bend were used on sample T1 and T2. Based on test results, it can be seen that the performance of concrete failure pattern under tensile load on both L and T anchor bolt design samples with 200 mm embedment depth was better than deeper embedment depth of 230 mm. But the L anchor bolt design gives the best results as compared to T design. Although T anchor bolt design shows higher resistance before first bond failure to the concrete sample. T anchor bolt was analysed and needed deeper embedment depth to allow formation of cone pull-out shape to acquire better performance

    Employers' Perception On Soft Skills Of Graduates: A Study Of Intel Elite Soft Skill Training International Conference on Teaching & Learning in Higher Education (ICTLHE 2011)

    Abstract Acquiring soft skills competencies becomes increasingly important and relevant for those who are providing services. Human Resource practitioners and employers still find the local graduates lacking or mismatching of relevant soft skills competencies required in their job positions. This paper is a survey research. Basically, this research is about employers' perception on soft skills and about the Intel eLite soft skill training to enhance the soft skills of the graduates. The Intel eLite Program, which is initiated by Intel Malaysia, is an university-industry collaboration between Intel and Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Universiti Teknologi Mara. The objectives are to identify the soft skills required by local and multi-national companies and to identify the contributing factors of graduates' unemployment. This research is done to evaluate the soft skills training program for the Intel eLite students, in terms of speaker, content of the training modules and the facility where the session was held. A total of 79 employers responded to the Questionnaire A and 93 Intel eLite students responded to the Questionnaire B. The findings show that all skills identified in the soft skill training of Intel eLite program are important in working place. Lacking of soft skills become the most likely factors to the unemployment issue of our graduates. Intel eLite program has proven to be a good intervention program to overcome the lack of the relevant soft skills from the perception of students. However a few improvements were suggested
