    Limitations of PLL simulation: hidden oscillations in MatLab and SPICE

    Nonlinear analysis of the phase-locked loop (PLL) based circuits is a challenging task, thus in modern engineering literature simplified mathematical models and simulation are widely used for their study. In this work the limitations of numerical approach is discussed and it is shown that, e.g. hidden oscillations may not be found by simulation. Corresponding examples in SPICE and MatLab, which may lead to wrong conclusions concerning the operability of PLL-based circuits, are presented

    In this paper, we develop a method based on the analysis of the Kovalewski exponents to study the integrability of anisotropic and homogeneous Universes. The formalism is developed in scalar-tensor gravity, the general relativistic case appearing as a special case of this larger framework. Then, depending on the rationality of the Kovalewski exponents, the different models, both in the vacuum and in presence of a barotropic matter fluid, are classified, and their integrability is discussed.Comment: 16 pages, no figure, accepted in CQ

    Focusing and imaging with increased numerical apertures through multimode fibers with micro-fabricated optics

    The use of individual multimode optical fibers in endoscopy applications has the potential to provide highly miniaturized and noninvasive probes for microscopy and optical micromanipulation. A few different strategies have been proposed recently, but they all suffer from intrinsically low resolution related to the low numerical aperture of multimode fibers. Here, we show that two-photon polymerization allows for direct fabrication of micro-optics components on the fiber end, resulting in an increase of the numerical aperture to a value that is close to 1. Coupling light into the fiber through a spatial light modulator, we were able to optically scan a submicrometer spot (300 nm FWHM) over an extended region, facing the opposite fiber end. Fluorescence imaging with improved resolution is also demonstrated.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure

    Low energy onset of nuclear shadowing in photoabsorption

    The early onset of nuclear shadowing in photoabsorption at low photon energies has recently been interpreted as a possible signature of a decrease of the rho meson mass in nuclei. We show that one can understand this early onset within simple Glauber theory if one takes the negative real part of the rho N scattering amplitudes into account, corresponding to a higher effective mass of the rho meson in nuclear medium.Comment: REVTEX, 9 pages, including 4 eps figure

    Evidence for spin liquid ground state in SrDy2_2O4_4 frustrated magnet probed by muSR

    Muon spin relaxation (μ\muSR) measurements were carried out on SrDy2_2O4_4, a frustrated magnet featuring short range magnetic correlations at low temperatures. Zero-field muon spin depolarization measurements demonstrate that fast magnetic fluctuations are present from T=300T=300 K down to 20 mK. The coexistence of short range magnetic correlations and fluctuations at T=20T=20 mK indicates that SrDy2_2O4_4 features a spin liquid ground state. Large longitudinal fields affect weakly the muon spin depolarization, also suggesting the presence of fast fluctuations. For a longitudinal field of μ0H=2\mu_0H=2 T, a non-relaxing asymmetry contribution appears below T=6T=6 K, indicating considerable slowing down of the magnetic fluctuations as field-induced magnetically-ordered phases are approached.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, to be published as a proceeding of HFM2016 in Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS

    Simple model for quantum general relativity from loop quantum gravity

    New progress in loop gravity has lead to a simple model of `general-covariant quantum field theory'. I sum up the definition of the model in self-contained form, in terms accessible to those outside the subfield. I emphasize its formulation as a generalized topological quantum field theory with an infinite number of degrees of freedom, and its relation to lattice theory.     Hot and dense water in the inner 25 AU of SVS13-A

    In the context of the ASAI (Astrochemical Surveys At IRAM) project, we carried out an unbiased spectral survey in the millimeter window towards the well known low-mass Class I source SVS13-A. The high sensitivity reached (3-12 mK) allowed us to detect at least 6 HDO broad (FWHM ~ 4-5 km/s) emission lines with upper level energies up to Eu = 837 K. A non-LTE LVG analysis implies the presence of very hot (150-260 K) and dense (> 3 10^7 cm-3) gas inside a small radius (∼\sim 25 AU) around the star, supporting, for the first time, the occurrence of a hot corino around a Class I protostar. The temperature is higher than expected for water molecules are sublimated from the icy dust mantles (~ 100 K). Although we cannot exclude we are observig the effects of shocks and/or winds at such small scales, this could imply that the observed HDO emission is tracing the water abundance jump expected at temperatures ~ 220-250 K, when the activation barrier of the gas phase reactions leading to the formation of water can be overcome. We derive X(HDO) ~ 3 10-6, and a H2O deuteration > 1.5 10-2, suggesting that water deuteration does not decrease as the protostar evolves from the Class 0 to the Class I stage.Comment: MNRAS Letter

    Many different information technology frameworks have been proposed to assist organizations implementing information technology. However, these frameworks are complex, difficult to implement and overlap each other turning their simultaneous implementation even more difficult to accomplish by organizations. This study proposes to develop an overlapless maturity model that not only help organizations dealing with the problems aforementioned. The model was applied and evaluated by experts in five organizations. The artefact was recognized as useful, complete and helpful in a multi-framework implementation by PM experts.
