Nowadays, ISO 9001 has been adopted by different organizations in all over the world. This standard was first introduced in 1978 by International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Several empirical studies revealed the importance of this quality managementtool for improving continuously performance within the organizations, in order to satisfy customer's needs and promote competitiveness in the market. Although ISO 9001 standard has shown its usefulness to the companies from different sectors, but there isno consensus among practitioners and scholars whether ISO 9001 considerably enables to improve firms' performance. Thus, this study was performed to review the findings of the empirical studies, which tested the hypothesized relationship between ISO 9001standard and the different perspectives of organization's performance, in order to present an aggregate overview of the role of ISO standard in improving performance in the organizations from different sectors. So, the research was designed to identify, select, and review the empirical studies that were relevant to the objectives of the research, and likewise published between 2002 and 2017. From literature review, the only 19 empirical studies selected that were relevant and fitted to the criteria of thestudy with the aim of obtaining the results and conclusions. Finally, the analysis of the results of the empirical studies uncovered that ISO 9001 significantly affected internal business process, while this standard was not correlated with the indicators of innovation and learning perspective at significant level. Furthermore, the systematic review of the existing literature provided enough evidence that the effectiveness of ISO 9001 on customer's results and financial performance were unclear and contradictory

Total quality management (TQM) is a management philosophy that emphasizes on non-stop quality improvement within all aspects of the organizations. Its main aims are to satisfy customers and survive in the market. Thus, it is very vital to specify the factors that cause implementing TQM successfully. Specially, the identification of the TQM critical success factors (CSFs) is more important in the construction firms than other industries, because the majority of construction organizations are confusing related to TQM CSFs, and often they do not develop a proper framework with right and essential factors for TQM implementation. Numerous studies showed construction companies usually fail to implement TQM and achieve performance excellence at project and enterprise levels. The main purpose of this study is to determine these factors as critical success factors of TQM implementation in construction industry. For this aim, the study carried out an extensive literature review to specify the most frequently used CSFs from TQM frameworks of 37 empirical studies in different industries, in order to propose a set of appropriate TQM CSFs. So, Pareto analysis was employed to analyze comprehensively the 37 TQM frameworks. Finally, the findings of this study revealed the seven CSFs, which are as most vital elements in developing an effective model for successful TQM implementation in construction industry

Since past two decades, ISO 9001 standard has shown its capabilities to lower cost, increase productivity, and satisfy stakeholders (customers) in the organizations. Although ISO 9001 standard has proven its benefits to different sectors in all over the world. But there is still debate among researchers and practitioners concerning the usefulness of applying ISO 9001 in construction projects. However, it seems that among different methods, quality cost analysis is an excellent technique to indicate how much ISO 9001 is able to improve effectively quality performance, and reduce costs in the projects. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to assess the effects of ISO 9001 implementation on quality cost in construction projects. For this aim, a literature review was conducted to design a structured questionnaire in a sample of the 67 respondents from ISO 9001:2008-certified projects of large-scale (AAA) construction companies in Metro Manila, Philippine. As a quantitative research, the inferential statistics analysis used to test the hypotheses of this study. Lastly, the results reported that ISO 9001 standard significantly affects the reduction of quality cost within construction projects in Metro Manila

Lastly, the findings indicated that ISO 9001 certification can statistically affect the two main factors of project management, except time length of projects in Metro Manila, Philippines

    Viability under Degraded Control Authority

In this work, we solve the problem of quantifying and mitigating control authority degradation in real time. Here, our target systems are controlled nonlinear affine-in-control evolution equations with finite control input and finite- or infinite-dimensional state. We consider two cases of control input degradation: finitely many affine maps acting on unknown disjoint subsets of the inputs and general Lipschitz continuous maps. These degradation modes are encountered in practice due to actuator wear and tear, hard locks on actuator ranges due to over-excitation, as well as more general changes in the control allocation dynamics. We derive sufficient conditions for identifiability of control authority degradation, and propose a novel real-time algorithm for identifying or approximating control degradation modes. We demonstrate our method on a nonlinear distributed parameter system, namely a one-dimensional heat equation with a velocity-controlled moveable heat source, motivated by autonomous energy-based surgery.Comment: Submitted to the American Control Conference 2024 and IEEE Control Systems Letter

An Analysis of the influence of the shepherd's role in pre-marriage counseling services for family harmony in the Seventday Adventist church at the fourth regional Jakarta local conference based on Ephesians 5:22-25. Keywords: The concept of marriage, Role of Shepherd, Counseling, and example. The discussion of pre-marriage counseling under Ephesians 5: 22-25 is highly relevant today, given that the institution of marriage has been established by God since the time of Eden before any institutions exist anywhere on the planet. Marriage is God's ordinance, God says, "it is not good that man should be alone" (Genesis 2:18), while in the past there are many marriages that have eventually found a dead end and destruction, these marriages have gone into the realm of the children's lives, sons of God. A marriage is suppose to be a unity of loving commitment to be manifested as a little paradise in the world, that has become corrupted and bitter. Satan desperately wants to destroy the marriage from the beginning and now it is a demonic attempt to mar the marriage. Where the commitment of love fades, loyalty disappears and is replaced by infidelity, as well as the bitter roots that appear in the dynamics of marrying. The concept of marriage is increasingly obscured by the emergence of polygamy in which a husband is married more than one wife. Polyandry is a wife married more than one Husband, LGBT is lesbian (female love fellow woman), gay or homo, bisexual that is loving the opposite sex and can love same-sex and transgender. A marriage contracts is where the contract is only the age of the agreed commitment and not of a lifetime contract. The role of the shepherd is very important to restore a biblical marriage and prepare the children of God to be ready to enter into a happy marriage that is not easily shaker by issues or problems. A study was conducted in the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the Fourth Area Jakarta Local Conference with a view of knowing how strongly the influence of the Shepherd's role for the pre-marriage counseling is. To what extent the church members' understanding the true biblical marriage concept that is specifically based on Ephesians 5: 22-25 , How important is the role of shepherd in providing pre-marital counseling for married couples, and the extent to which exemplary influence is good for the next generation. The method used in this research is quantitative research, and data collection tools used in the form of questionnaires to measure the variable influence of the role of the shepherds in Pre-marital counseling based on Ephesians 5: 22-25. The results showed that first, the respondent understands that the institution of marriage was founded by God since the Garden of Eden, That the marriage is holy and marriage is very necessary to be prepared for carefully, so that is the understanding of the real concept of marriage for couples who are getting married. Secondly, respondents strongly believe that it is very important to have briefing through pre-marital counseling services for married couples therefore this is the role of shepherds to provide for the pre-marital counseling for married couples. Thirdly, respondents strongly agree that they accepted their partners completely, both their strengths and weaknesses, and this is the best example of how they will influence in a marriage. The final part are the conclusion of the analysis of field research and suggestions of applications that can be executed to return the actual marriage designed by God, and blessed and become a blessing

Total quality management (TQM) is a set of opinions and ideas that widely called “management philosophy”. This management technique is able to assist the construction firms in improving continuously the organization's performance, in order to satisfy customers and survive in the market. The success of TQM implementation is tightly dependent on identifying and selecting the appropriate critical success factors (CSFs), quality tools, and performance measures (KPIs) within TQM framework. Doubtlessly, a set of suitable performance measures (indicators) has a significant role to verify and ensure that TQM implementation can successfully achieve its aims in the organization. Thus, the main purpose of this paper was to develop a suitable framework to assess the effects of TQM implementation on organization's performance in construction industry. For this aim, the study was conducted a comprehensive literature review to specify the existing key performance indicators (KPIs) from 26 TQM frameworks that formulated by scholars. In data analysis, the only 20 KPIs were found of 26 TQM studies. The extracted KPIs (20) classified based on four dimensions of balanced scorecard (BSC), and then arranged from highest to lowest frequency for each perspective of BSC. Finally, a total of ten KPIs were determined and presented within BSC system as an appropriate performance measures framework, which enables evaluating critical areas that very vital to the success of TQM implementation in construction firms at project and enterprise levels
