Intramolecular photo-physical processes and spectral-luminescence properties of a dye merocyanine 540 and its complexes with water
Merocyanine 540 (M540) is famous dye that used in electronics and medicine. An important feature of the dye is a significant intramolecular transfer of the electron density in the excited state. Experimentally was investigated the electronic absorption and fluorescence spectra in different solvents M540. Electronic structure, spectra and rate constants of photo-physical processes of an isolated molecule and its complexes with water molecules were calculated by INDO method with spectroscopic parameterization. Analysis of the results allowed establishing the effect of individual fragments and hydrogen bonds with water on the electronic charge transfer between the terminal units in the state S1. Examination of photo-physical processes of decomposition of the fluorescent state was showed that the intramolecular processes of decay of the S1 state are not the cause of the differences calculated and experimental fluorescence quantum yield. Consideration of trans-cis photoisomerization leads to the elimination of this non-compliance. Β© (2015) COPYRIGHT Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE). Optical properties of new indotricarbocyanine dye as a limiter of laser radiation power
We present results of experimental and theoretical studies of the optical characteristics of a new indotricarbocyanine dye that is capable of effectively limiting the power of laser radiation in the visible spectral range. The spectral-luminescent and energy characteristics of the dye molecules and their absorption spectra from the excited state with nanosecond resolution are investigated experimentally. Quantum-chemical methods are used to calculate electronic absorption spectra from the ground (S0 β Sn) and excited (S1 β Sn) states and to determine the nature of electronic states of the molecule and the rate constants of intramolecular photo-physical processes. The results of the theoretical research agree with experimental data. It is shown that the investigated dye has singlet-singlet absorption at 400β600 nm. Nonlinear absorption of the dye upon excitation by radiation of the second harmonic of a Nd:YAG laser is studied by z-scanning with an open diaphragm. The ratio of dye absorption cross sections from the excited and ground states at 532 nm is determined in the framework of a three-level model. The results are compared with those for previously studied compounds

The
aim of the article is to formulate the soft skills characteristic, its components, as well as to analyze methods
and techniques of soft skills training and development prospects in the conditions of the worldβs
globalization, technical progress, economic and political changes. For this purpose, one used the following
methods: the analysis of existing scientific publications on the topic of βsoft skillsβ in the educational space
and their correlation with professional competences. The comparative method was used in the analysis of
soft skills formation of Ukrainian education and European practices. In the analysis of soft skills individual
components, the inductive method was used. The results of the study have led to the understanding of soft
skills prospect as a fundamental requirement in the modern labor market. The soft skills are universal needs
of todayβs education
Organizational configuration of hospitals succeeding in attracting and retaining nurses
Organizational configuration of hospitals succeeding in attracting and retaining nurses. This paper contrasts structural and managerial characteristics of low- and
high-turnover hospitals, and describes the organizational configuration of attractive
hospitals. In countries facing nurse shortages and turnover, some hospitals
succeed in recruiting and retaining nurses. In Magnet Hospitals, managerial practices
and environmental characteristics increase nurses\u2019 job satisfaction and their
commitment to the organization, which in turn decreases nurse turnover. Such an
approach suggests that organizations are best understood as clusters of interconnected
structures and practices, i.e. organizational configurations rather than entities whose components can be understood in isolation.
From a sample of 12 hospitals whose nurse turnover was studied for 1 year,
structural and organizational features of hospitals in the first and fourth quartiles, i.e. attractive (turnover11\uc68%) were contrasted. A questionnaire, including perceptions of health-related factors, job demands, stressors, work schedules, organizational climate, and work adjustments antecedent to turnover, was received from 401 nurses working in attractive hospitals (response rate - 53\uc68%) and 774 nurses in conventional hospitals (response rate \ubc 54\uc65%).
Structural characteristics did not differentiate attractive and conventional
hospitals, but employee perceptions towards the organization differed strikingly.
Differences were observed for risk exposure, emotional demands, role ambiguity and
conflicts, work-family conflicts, effort-reward imbalance and the meaning of work, all
in favour of attractive hospitals (P < 0.01). Relationships with nursing management,
work ability and satisfaction with working time, handover shifts and schedules
were also better in attractive hospitals (P < 0.001). Job satisfaction and commitment
were higher in attractive hospitals, whereas burnout and intention to leave were lower
(P < 0.001).
Organizational characteristics are key factors in nurse attraction
and retention. Nurses face difficulties in their work situations, but some hospitals are
perceived as healthy organizations. The concept of attractive institutions could serve as a catalyst for improvement in nurses\u2019 work environments in Europe
