Reverbotone - Visualize Music With Design.

This thesis was written as a supporting paper for a graphic design exhibit for a Master of Fine Arts Degree. The focus of my work is to visualize an interpretation of a collection of songs that make up an album in which the design communicates the content of the body of music. This thesis showcases a record that actually exists but has never been released. This affords me the opportunity to create a design that defines the content of the record work in a visual manner. This thesis paper covers the methods and motivations by which I arrived to the final design as well as an analysis of the outcome of the process in regards to the thesis exhibit

Observations on money, barter and bookkeeping

Britain forbade her 18th-century American colonies to set up mints, and sent no supplies of her own coins. In consequence, the colonies were without any official money. Account books of the period reveal how traders fared in this unusual situation. They show that the lack of money was a severe handicap that hindered and distorted trade, but that the colonists to some extent overcame it with the aid of ingenious ledger entries. These culminated in payment by credit transfers in the books of third parties. Such transactions lead to a discussion of the nature of money

    Pheasant Management Recommendations

    Get PDF
Information on the life history and ecology of the ring-necked pheasant was collected on two, nine-square-mile study areas in Clay County, Nebraska, from 1954 through 1964. The study was designed to provide basic data that would allow scientifically based management decisions to be made for the maintenance and enhancement of ring-neck populations. Findings indicate certain steps should be taken to improve pheasant populations on state-owned or controlled lands, as well as recommendations to improve habitat for pheasant populations on land not controlled by the Game Commission, These secondary proposals have statewide ramifications and offer potential for significantly improving pheasant populations on land not controlled by the Commission

Effects of Dieldrin on Reproduction of Penned Hen Pheasants in the Second Generation

Effects of dieldrin on penned hen pheasants (Phasianus colchicus) which were the offspring of hens receiving encapsulated dieldrin the previous year were measured. Hens produced by the previous year\u27s control group received 0, 6, 8, or 12 mg of dieldrin per week for 14 weeks. Hens from treated groups received 0 or 6 mg per week. Effects of dieldrin were evaluated by influences upon reproductive success. Mortality occurred in all groups receiving dieldrin, and appeared to be correlated with a reduction in egg production. Dieldrin lowered egg production by reducing food consumption in the 12 mg group and two groups which were offspring of 6 mg birds. °Fertility and hatchability of eggs were significantly lower in groups where the hen had received dieldrin residues via the egg. Limited observations were also made on effects of dieldrin on behavior. Apparently 8 mg hens passed enough dieldrin in eggs to alter their progeny\u27s behavior
