The determinants of bank stock return's co-movements in East Asia

We examine co-movements of bank stock returns in eight East Asian countries after the 1997 crisis and attempt to determine the factors that influence them. Unlike Bautista and al (2008) who focus on a measure of the contribution of banks to systemic risk, we consider the return correlations among banks within each country which are used as a dependent variable in weighted least squares regressions. The factors were chosen from a wide range of accounting and market-based indicators, but also macroeconomic and financial development data, using a stepwise procedure. The study finds that financial development is one of the significant determinants of return co-movement but that the share of interbank activities in the balance sheet is not a significant factor. A strong link is found between the bank return co-movements and bank default risk measured by a z-score. To a lesser extent, the share of loan activities in a bank's balance sheet, which is a proxy of opacity, is also a significant factor of the level of correlation.Bank contagion, East Asia, Correlation of bank stock returns

This qualitative approach research project, aims to strengthen the communication process in teaching and learning of mathematics, through resolution of geometric problems in an interactive mathematics software environment in 4th and 5th grade students of the escuela rural La Chacara, in the municipality of Santa Bárbara (Santander). Who excels at communicating, can also interpret and express situations in regard of mathematical contexts in a determined and specific language. These communicative abilities in the solution of a mathematical problem are cognitively related actions that imply verbal activity such as listening and speaking, summarizing, justifying, explaining, arguing, defining, dialoguing, commenting and discussing .This research intends to propose a didactic unit that promotes the development of the skills of the mathematical communication process: to justify, to argue, to identify and to interpret through the software of dynamic geometry. Also, to design a methodological strategy that allows to analyze the results of the incidence of software of dynamic geometry in the strengthening of the process of mathematical communication. As an intervention strategy, a didactic unit was designed and implemented in three sequences related to the study of three geometric figures: the square, the rectangle and the rhombus. The activities of the sequences were organized taking into account the learning phases of the Van Hiele model investigating in each one the skills of the communication process mentioned above. Pedagogical mediation through the use of digital technology, such as GeoGebra software, favored the teaching of geometry and improved the classroom environment and the learning environment. Finally, the students took a final test in order to verify the development of representation skills and, according to their results, a notable process in such skills and in the acquisition and interpretation of the main concepts regarding quadrilaterals properties became evident.           &nbsp

The Internet is the most extensive network that exists, which provides the services that allow us to connect, communicate from anywhere in the world, develop and facilitate work, business-to-business relationships, electronic commerce and personal interests, etc., but There are also networks of all sizes that can range from simple networks, composed of minimum for two PCs, to networks that connect millions of devices. The network infrastructure is the platform that supports the network, it can vary in terms of size, number of users, amount and type of services and the routing and switching platform is the basis of the entire infrastructure in Cisco network environments In addition, networks must be reliable, fault tolerant, scalable, must provide quality of service and ensure the security of information and resources in them. Therefore, two situations arise for the construction and operation of each of the network, in which the skills and knowledge acquired in the Cisco Deepening Diploma (implementation of integrated lan / wan solutions) are tested

The purpose of this article is to describe the incidence that exists of the variable that measures the perception of quality that citizens have of the service they are receiving in the Agencies of the General Directorate of Civil Registry, Identification and Certification of the Republic of Ecuador (DIGERCIC), on the variable that represents the production indices of the services requested. The data analyzed include the period March 2016 to October 2017.El propósito del presente artículo es describir la incidencia que existe de la variable que mide la percepción de calidad que tiene la ciudadanía del servicio que está recibiendo en las Agencias de la Dirección General de Registro Civil, Identificación y Cedulación de la República del Ecuador (DIGERCIC), sobre la variable que representa los índices de producción de los servicios solicitados. There is a wide body of evidence that suggests sustainable mobility is not only a technological question, but that automotive technology will be a part of the solution in becoming a necessary albeit insufficient condition. Sufficiency is emerging as a paradigm shift from car ownership to vehicle usage, which is a consequence of socio-economic changes. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) now make it possible for a user to access a mobility service to go anywhere at any time. Among the many emerging mobility services, Multiple Passenger Ridesharing and its variants look the most promising. However, challenges arise in implementing these systems while accounting specifically for time dependencies and time windows that reflect users’ needs, specifically in terms of real-time fleet dispatching and dynamic route calculation. On the other hand, we must consider the feasibility and impact analysis of the many factors influencing the behavior of the system – as, for example, service demand, the size of the service fleet, the capacity of the shared vehicles and whether the time window requirements are soft or tight. This paper analyzes - a Decision Support System that computes solutions with ad hoc heuristics applied to variants of Pick Up and Delivery Problems with Time Windows, as well as to Feasibility and Profitability criteria rooted in Dynamic Insertion Heuristics. To evaluate the applications, a Simulation Framework is proposed. It is based on a microscopic simulation model that emulates real-time traffic conditions and a real traffic information system. It also interacts with the Decision Support System by feeding it with the required data for making decisions in the simulation that emulate the behavior of the shared fleet. The proposed simulation framework has been implemented in a model of Barcelona’s Central Business District. The obtained results prove the potential feasibility of the mobility concept.Postprint (published version

Rapidity dependence of particle densities in pp and AA collisions

We use multiple scattering and energy conservation arguments to describe dn/dηNANAdn/d\eta_{NANA} as a function of dn/dηppdn/d\eta_{pp} in the framework of string percolation. We discuss the pseudo-rapidity η\eta? and beam rapidity Y dependence of particle densities. We present our results for pp, Au- Au, and Pb-Pb collisions at RHIC and LHC.Comment: 12 pages, 6 figure
