Representations and Properties of Generalized Statistics
A generalization of statistics is proposed and developed. The
generalized quantum statistics is completely specified by a set of
Jacobson generators satisfying a set of triple algebraic relations.

Calculation of some determinants using the s-shifted factorial
Several determinants with gamma functions as elements are evaluated. This
kind of determinants are encountered in the computation of the probability
density of the determinant of random matrices. The s-shifted factorial is
defined as a generalization for non-negative integers of the power function,
the rising factorial (or Pochammer's symbol) and the falling factorial. It is a
special case of polynomial sequence of the binomial type studied in
combinatorics theory. In terms of the gamma function, an extension is defined
for negative integers and even complex values. Properties, mainly composition
laws and binomial formulae, are given. They are used to evaluate families of
generalized Vandermonde determinants with s-shifted factorials as elements,

Comparative efficacy of sign surveys, spotlighting and audio playbacks in a landscape-scale carnivore survey
Many carnivores are difficult and labour-intensive to detect, often leading to prohibitively high effort and cost in large-scale surveys. However, such studies provide information that is important for effective management and conservation. Here, we evaluate the suitability of three survey methods for landscape-scale multi-species monitoring. We compare sign surveys, spotlighting, and audio playbacks in terms of detection efficiency, precision, effort, and cost. Sign surveys out-performed the other methods in all comparison criteria, although supplementary methods were needed for some species and sites. We found that using established analysis techniques, robust landscape-scale abundance estimates would require unrealistically high effort and cost. Occupancy estimation required considerably lower sample sizes and was therefore more economical. We conclude that sign-based occupancy estimates constitute a versatile and efficient option for future large-scale, multi-species carnivore surveys

oscillations in the spatial (particle and kinetic energy) densities of finite
fermion systems and present some examples of its results. We then discuss the
inclusion of correlations (finite temperatures, pairing correlations) in the

Business Aspects of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography: Tackling the Challenges
The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business issues surrounding provision of dedicated cardiovascular computed tomographic imaging. Some of the challenges include high up-front costs, current low utilization relative to scanner capability, and inadequate payments. Cardiovascular computed tomographic imaging is a valuable clinical modality that should be offered by cardiovascular centers-of-excellence. With careful consideration of the business aspects, moderate-to-large size cardiology programs should be able to implement an economically viable cardiovascular computed tomographic service
