Deduction of the quantum numbers of low-lying states of 6-nucleon systems based on symmetry
The inherent nodal structures of the wavefunctions of 6-nucleon systems have
been investigated. The existence of a group of six low-lying states dominated
by L=0 has been deduced. The spatial symmetries of these six states are found
to be mainly {4,2} and {2,2,2}.Comment: 8 pages, no figure
Efficient single-photon-assisted entanglement concentration for partially entangled photon pairs
We present two realistic entanglement concentration protocols (ECPs) for pure
partially entangled photons. A partially entangled photon pair can be
concentrated to a maximally entangled pair with only an ancillary single photon
in a certain probability, while the conventional ones require two copies of
partially entangled pairs at least. Our first protocol is implemented with
linear optics and the second one is implemented with cross-Kerr nonlinearities.
Compared with other ECPs, they do not need to know the accurate coefficients of
the initial state. With linear optics, it is feasible with current experiment.
With cross-Kerr nonlinearities, it does not require the sophisticated
single-photon detectors and can be repeated to get a higher success
probability. Moreover, the second protocol can get the higher entanglement
transformation efficiency and it maybe the most economical one by far.
Meanwhile, both of protocols are more suitable for multi-photon system
concentration, because they need less operations and classical communications.
All these advantages make two protocols be useful in current long-distance
quantum communications
Repeating head-on collisions in an optical trap and the evaluation of spin-dependent interactions among neutral particles
A dynamic process of repeating collisions of a pair of trapped neutral
particles with weak spin-dependent interaction is designed and studied. Related
theoretical derivation and numerical calculation have been performed to study
the inherent coordinate-spin and momentum-spin correlation. Due to the
repeating collisions the effect of the weak interaction can be accumulated and
enlarged, and therefore can be eventually detected. Numerical results suggest
that the Cr-Cr interaction, which has not yet been completely clear, could be
thereby determined. The design can be in general used to determine various
interactions among neutral atoms and molecules, in particular for the
determination of very weak forces.Comment: 15 pages, 7 figure
Low-lying S-wave and P-wave Dibaryons in a Nodal Structure Analysis
The dibaryon states as six-quark clusters of exotic QCD states are
investigated in this paper. With the inherent nodal surface structure analysis,
the wave functions of the six-quark clusters (in another word, the dibaryons)
are classified. The contribution of the hidden color channels are discussed.
The quantum numbers of the low-lying dibaryon states are obtained. The States
, ,
, and the
hidden color channel states with the same quantum numbers are proposed to be
the candidates of dibaryons, which may be observed in experiments.Comment: 29 pages, 2 figure
DancingLines: An Analytical Scheme to Depict Cross-Platform Event Popularity
Nowadays, events usually burst and are propagated online through multiple
modern media like social networks and search engines. There exists various
research discussing the event dissemination trends on individual medium, while
few studies focus on event popularity analysis from a cross-platform
perspective. Challenges come from the vast diversity of events and media,
limited access to aligned datasets across different media and a great deal of
noise in the datasets. In this paper, we design DancingLines, an innovative
scheme that captures and quantitatively analyzes event popularity between
pairwise text media. It contains two models: TF-SW, a semantic-aware popularity
quantification model, based on an integrated weight coefficient leveraging
Word2Vec and TextRank; and wDTW-CD, a pairwise event popularity time series
alignment model matching different event phases adapted from Dynamic Time
Warping. We also propose three metrics to interpret event popularity trends
between pairwise social platforms. Experimental results on eighteen real-world
event datasets from an influential social network and a popular search engine
validate the effectiveness and applicability of our scheme. DancingLines is
demonstrated to possess broad application potentials for discovering the
knowledge of various aspects related to events and different media
Temporal and spatial distribution pattern of Bullacta exarata in a tidal flat at south shore of Hangzhou Bay, China
The distribution pattern of Bullacta exarata was studied in different seasons of 2004 at south shore of Hangzhou Bay, China. We found that the distribution pattern of B. exarata was aggregated in each season by Taylor's power regression and Iwao's plot regresses methods (P < 0.001). Based on two-way ANOVA analysis, the results indicated that the densities were significantly affected by the factors of season (P < 0.001), distance to the dyked dam (P < 0.001) and the interaction between them (P < 0.001). The densities distribution followed with the distance gradient was significantly different in each season with one-way ANOVA analysis. The results of Pearson correlation coefficients analysis on data of density indicated that in the warmer seasons (spring and summer) the highest densities occurred at 150 m to the dyked dam, while in the cooler seasons peak in densities were at 250 m to the dyked dam (autumn and winter). In the study area, seasonal variation of B. exarata densities should be the response of the species to the environmental change, especially the food resource
A Novel Large Moment Antiferromagnetic Order in K0.8Fe1.6Se2 Superconductor
The discovery of cuprate high Tc superconductors has inspired searching for
unconventional su- perconductors in magnetic materials. A successful recipe has
been to suppress long-range order in a magnetic parent compound by doping or
high pressure to drive the material towards a quantum critical point, which is
replicated in recent discovery of iron-based high TC superconductors. The
long-range magnetic order coexisting with superconductivity has either a small
magnetic moment or low ordering temperature in all previously established
examples. Here we report an exception to this rule in the recently discovered
potassium iron selenide. The superconducting composition is identified as the
iron vacancy ordered K0.8Fe1.6Se2 with Tc above 30 K. A novel large moment 3.31
{\mu}B/Fe antiferromagnetic order which conforms to the tetragonal crystal
symmetry has the unprecedentedly high an ordering temperature TN = 559 K for a
bulk superconductor. Staggeredly polarized electronic density of states thus is
suspected, which would stimulate further investigation into superconductivity
in a strong spin-exchange field under new circumstance.Comment: 5 figures, 5 pages, and 2 tables in pdf which arXiv.com cannot tak
Uranium on uranium collisions at relativistic energies
Deformation and orientation effects on compression, elliptic flow and
particle production in uranium on uranium collisions (UU) at relativistic
energies are studied within the transport model ART. The density compression in
tip-tip UU collisions is found to be about 30% higher and lasts approximately
50% longer than in body-body or spherical UU reactions. The body-body UU
collisions have the unique feature that the nucleon elliptic flow is the
highest in the most central collisions and remain a constant throughout the
reaction. We point out that the tip-tip UU collisions are more probable to
create the QGP at AGS and SPS energies while the body-body UU collisions are
more useful for studying properties of the QGP at higher energies.Comment: 8 pages + 4 figure
Interactions between landscape changes and host communities can regulate echinococcus multilocularis transmission
An area close to the Qinghai-Tibet plateau region and subject to intensive deforestation contains a large focus of human alveolar echinococcosis while sporadic human cases occur in the Doubs region of eastern France. The current review analyses and compares epidemiological and ecological results obtained in both regions. Analysis of rodent species assemblages within quantified rural landscapes in central China and eastern France shows a significant association between host species for the pathogenic helminth Echinococcus multilocularis, with prevalences of human alveolar echinococcosis and with land area under shrubland or grassland. This suggests that at the regional scale landscape can affect human disease distribution through interaction with small mammal communities and their population dynamics. Lidicker's ROMPA hypothesis helps to explain this association and provides a novel explanation of how landscape changes may result in increased risk of a rodent-borne zoonotic disease
