Mixed duopolies with advance production

Production to order and production in advance has been compared in many frameworks. In this paper we investigate a mixed production in advance version of the capacity-constrained Bertrand-Edgeworth duopoly game and determine the solution of the respective timing game. We show that a pure-strategy (subgame-perfect) Nash-equilibrium point exists for all possible orderings of moves. It is pointed out that unlike the production-to-order case, the equilibrium of the timing game lies at simultaneous moves. An analysis of the public firm's impact on social welfare is also carried out. All the results are compared to those of the production-to order version of the respective game

Napjainkban, amikor az élet szinte minden területét áthatja az egyre növekvô verseny, a felgyorsult innováció, a tudásalapú rendszerek térhódítása, a globalizáció és az informatikai forradalom, valóban csak egyetlen dolog tûnik állandónak: maga a változás. Logikusan adódnak tehát a következô kérdések: milyen hatással vannak a jelzett folyamatok a vállalatokra, azok alapfolyamataira és irányítására? Létre lehet-e hozni (amennyiben igen, milyen módon) egy hatékonyabb szervezetet, mely a kihívásoknak képes rugalmasan megfelelni? Hogyan képes kihasználni a vállalat a technológiai innováció kínálta lehetôségeket? A fenti kérdések átfogó megválaszolására jelen tanulmány nem vállalkozhat. Does timing of decisions in a mixed duopoly matter?

We determine the endogenous order of moves in a mixed price-setting duopoly. In contrast to the existing literature on mixed oligopolies we establish the payoff equivalence of the games with an exogenously given order of moves. Hence, it does not matter whether one becomes a leader or a follower. We also establish that replacing a private firm by a public firm in the standard Bertrand-Edgeworth game with capacity constraints increases social welfare and that a pure-strategy equilibrium always exists.Bertrand-Edgeworth; mixed duopoly; timing games

Két új adventív faj előfordulása Magyarországon a buzérfélék (Rubiaceae) családjából

A szerzők két, korábban Magyarországról nem ismert, a Rubiaceae családhoz tartozó faj első adatát közlik. A Délnyugat-Ázsiából származó, dísznövényként Európában szórványosan ülte­tett piros szálkanyak (Phuopsis stylosa) a Vas megyei Csákánydoroszló község közúti árkának degradált mezofil gyepjében telepedett meg. A Mediterráneumban őshonos kőfali galaj (Galium murale) kis állo­mánya a budapesti Keleti pályaudvar egyik használaton kívülimellékvágánya mentén került elő. Előbbi faj feltételezhetően ültetésből vadulhatott ki, míg utóbbi jelenléte a vasúti forgalomnak köszönhető. Mindkét faj egyelőre csak kis egyedszámban van jelen élőhelyén, így inváziós képességük csak több éves megfigyelést követően értékelhető. A fajok beillesztésre kerültek a hazai határozókulcsba.</jats:p

DLF control for high efficiency grid connected PV converters

Nowadays there are several grid connected converters in the grid system. These grid connected converters are generally the converters of renewable energy sources, industrial four quadrant drives and other converters with DC link. These converters are connected to the grid through a three phase bridge. The standards prescribe the maximal harmonic emission which could be easily limited with high switching frequency. The high switching losses can be reduced to the half with the utilization of the well-known Flat-top modulation. The suggested DC Link Floating (DLF) control method is an extension of the Flat-top modulation with which the switching losses could be further reduced

3SC Control for high efficiency grid connected photovoltaic converters

Nowadays there are several grid connected converters in the grid system. These grid connected converters are generally the converters of renewable energy sources, industrial four quadrant drives and other converters with DC link. These converters are connected to the grid typically through a three phase IGBT bridge. The standards prescribe the permissible maximal harmonic emission and the maximal reactive current for the grid connected converters. For a converter working at nominal power these two prescriptions together mean almost unity power factor. The harmonic emission could be easily limited with high switching frequency and/or with large harmonic filters. Further financial viewpoints are the efficiency, the small size and weight. Comparing to traditional control these requirements can be simultaneously satisfied much better with the 3SC (three state control) method.
