Monitoring Social Distancing by Smart Phone App in the effect of COVID-19
Social distancing measures are necessary for many infectious diseases that spreads through droplets and microdroplets. According to WHO, the preventive measure for COVID-19 is to follow strict social distancing. It is not easy to enforce social distance easily in a crowded region and people often not maintain sufficient distance with neighbours. Driven by the need for energy-efficient and cost-effective social distancing monitoring, this paper proposes Smart Social Distancing (SSD) mobile application based monitoring, which can predict the social distancing between two people assisted by mobile bluetooth and mobile camera. SSD involves two major steps to predict the social distance: first the pedestrian in the video frames is identified with the aid of Deep Learning (DL) and in the second step, distance between the two pedestrian is estimated through image processing techniques. The application can also be configured to calculate the distance using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) by calculating its received signal strength. The application demonstrates 85% accuracy on predicting the social distancing and alert the user using beep sound or alert messag
The outcomes of mobilization under continuous interscalene block versus mobilization and intraarticular steroid injection in frozen shoulder
Background: Painless and early aggressive mobilization of the shoulder can give good outcomes in a frozen shoulder (FS).Objectives: Our objective is to compare the early and late clinical and functional outcomes of mobilization under continuous interscalene block (CISB) and mobilization and intraarticular steroid injection (IASI) and to determine the effect of the addition of IASI on mobilization and CISB in adults with FS.Methods: We conducted a prospective comparative study. Participants were divided into 3 groups of 20 patients. The allocation was performed by simple randomization. The primary outcomes of pain and patient satisfaction were assessed using VAS scores. Outcome measures such as pain, patient satisfaction, range of motion, and UCLA scores within the groups were assessed. Results: The majority of patients were females. There was a significant improvement in early pain relief and range of motion in patients treated using mobilization under CISB. The late functional outcomes were similar in all groups irrespective of the method of treatment. The IASI had no significant effect on the early or late outcomes of mobilization under CISB.Conclusion: Mobilization under CISB provides early pain relief, improvement in the range of movements, and good long-term functional outcomes in frozen shoulders. IASI does not affect early pain relief or improvement in the range of movements
Heavy landing of small sized Indian mackerel by ring seine units
Pazhaverkadu in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu is unique in that ring seine operations are rampant here while in the adjacent Chennai area, these are not operated, mainly as a result of consensus among the fishermen against its use. On 2.5.2017, heavy landing of Indian mackerel by the ring seines operated at Pazhaverkadu as per operational details gathered from the fishermen
IL-1β Promotes TGF-β1 and IL-2 Dependent Foxp3 Expression in Regulatory T Cells
Earlier, we have shown that GM-CSF-exposed CD8α− DCs that express low levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-12 and IL-1β can induce Foxp3+ Tregs leading to suppression of autoimmunity. Here, we examined the differential effects of IL-12 and IL-1β on Foxp3 expression in T cells when activated in the presence and absence of DCs. Exogenous IL-12 abolished, but IL-1β enhanced, the ability of GM-CSF-exposed tolerogenic DCs to promote Foxp3 expression. Pre-exposure of DCs to IL-1β and IL-12 had only a modest effect on Foxp3− expressing T cells; however, T cells activated in the absence of DCs but in the presence of IL-1β or IL-12 showed highly significant increase and decrease in Foxp3+ T cell frequencies respectively suggesting direct effects of these cytokines on T cells and a role for IL-1β in promoting Foxp3 expression. Importantly, purified CD4+CD25+ cells showed a significantly higher ability to maintain Foxp3 expression when activated in the presence of IL-1β. Further analyses showed that the ability of IL-1β to maintain Foxp3 expression in CD25+ T cells was dependent on TGF-β1 and IL-2 expression in Foxp3+Tregs and CD25− effectors T cells respectively. Exposure of CD4+CD25+ T cells to IL-1β enhanced their ability to suppress effector T cell response in vitro and ongoing experimental autoimmune thyroidits in vivo. These results show that IL-1β can help enhance/maintain Tregs, which may play an important role in maintaining peripheral tolerance during inflammation to prevent and/or suppress autoimmunity
Simulation of SOS Systems By
Sensor networks are in wide spread use and with deployments reaching larger numbers, the need for a scalable simulation framework is becoming apparent. Simulation of sensor networks offers the capability to test network protocols under different topologies, with repeatability in mind. While repeatability and scalability are important criteria, wireless channels are hard to model. The best-case scenario would be to evaluate the protocols under a testbed of real nodes. This too, has a severe drawback in that the evaluation is restricted by the size of the testbed. This project presents a simulation framework that can be used to simulate SOS applications and combine them with a hybrid simulation capability that allows for nodes in the simulation to be mapped to real nodes. ii 1

Effect of permeation enhancer on bioavailability of formulated patches of amoxicillin
Objectives: The objective of this study is to extract Phytochemical constituent from Cinnamon Bark and to design and develop the transdermal patch of the herbal drug along with modern medicine Amoxicillin using solvent casting method to reduce the dose required to obtain same pharmacological the effect, also to reduce the toxicity of the drug. Methods: The Amoxicillin Transdermal patches were formulated by using the solvent casting method. The physical and chemical similarity of the medication and the base of patches were studied by Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The outcomes recommended no physical and chemical properties incongruence between the medication and the patch base. The formulated transdermal patches were assessed for the weight difference, fatness, folding endurance, wetness, moisture captivation, ex vivo drug release, ex vivo drug absorption. Results: The diffusion examines were performed by utilizing the Franz diffusion cell and averted gut sac method. The best formulation F21 showed Thickness 0.210±0.134mm, Weight uniformity 0.186±0.110 gm, % Moisture uptake8.123±1.233Moisture content 6.045±0.321, % Drug content 82.80±0.233, Folding endurance 28±4.44.
