New Versions of Translation Automata
Práca skúma nové verzie prekladových automatov. Skúma existujúcu verziu zásobníkového prevodníku a reguláciu gramatiky. Tieto dva existujúce pojmy spája a v práci je zadefinovaný regulovaný zásobníkový prevodník ako nová forma prekladového automatu. Práca skúma vyjadrovaciu silu regulovanej gramatiky, testuje využitie tejto gramatiky v prevodníku. Pomocou implementovaje štruktúry skúma využitie v prekladoch vstupného kódu.This thesis does research on new version of translation automata. It takes closer look at existing pushdown transcuders and regulated grammar. Combining these two concepts together which creates new regulated pushdown transcuder as a new form of translation automata. Examine computational power of regulated grammar and tests its usage combined with transcuder and test usablity of this new defined regulated transcuder in implementation for translating input source code.
Comparison of Filter Techniques for Two-Step Feature Selection
In the last decade, the processing of the high dimensional data became inevitable task in many areas of research and daily life. Feature selection (FS), as part of the data processing methodology, is an important step in knowledge discovery. This paper proposes nine variation of two-step feature selection approach with filter FS employed in the first step and exhaustive search in the second step. The performance of the proposed methods is comparatively analysed from the stability and predictive performance point of view. As the obtained results indicate the choice of the filter FS in the first stage has strong influence on the resulting stability. Here, the choice of univariate Pearson correlation coefficient based FS method appears to provide the most stable results

Firm performance over innovation cycle: Evidence from a small European economy
Innovation is seen as a key capability for maintaining competitive advantage, creating value for customers, and capturing a larger share of the market. Yet, empirical evidence on the impact of innovation on firm performance is mixed. This research adds to the current debate on the relationship between innovation and the economic performance of firms. It brings new evidence from a small European economy (i.e., the Slovak Republic). We use a unique data set on 170 firms supported by the European Structural and Cohesion Funds (ESCF). Actual economic data reported in companies' annual accounts, rather than self-reported information, is used to follow firm performance over a longer term horizon. The most significant finding is that the company's innovation strategy was a key mediator of capability development and, ultimately, economic performance. The importance of specific innovation strategies varied over the innovation cycle. Simple process and organisational innovations were perceived to be important when assessing the immediate effects of European assistance. Investment in and cooperation on R&D&I became important when assessing firm performance over the longer term. The research expands the current body of literature on innovation capabilities and economic performance. It accentuates the need for a long-term perspective on innovation capabilities. To maintain a competitive advantage, a company's innovation capabilities must be constantly aligned with the changing environment
Beyond financial success: Success goals of creative entrepreneurs
This paper presents evidence on the identities, values and success goals of creative entrepreneurs in Slovakia. The research relies on a database of creative firms supported by the Slovak Creative Voucher Scheme. The survey-based research compares the success goals of creative entrepreneurs with those of people from conventional industries. The research design acknowledges substantial regional economic disparities in Slovakia. The success goals of creative entrepreneurs from the Bratislava region are compared with those of entrepreneurs from less developed regions. Non-parametric tests are applied in order to establish between-group differences. We found that creative entrepreneurs indeed had their own sets of business motives and success goals, different from those of entrepreneurs in conventional industries. The success goals of creative entrepreneurs were not impacted by the location of the business. Creative entrepreneurs located in the capital region of Bratislava had the same structure of success goals as that of people from underdeveloped regions
Economics of Biobanking: Business or Public Good? Literature Review, Structural and Thematic Analysis
This paper reviewed the relevant scientific literature on the business and economics of biobanking to explore key themes and paradigms. The structural properties of the literature were investigated, such as key authors, journals, studies, as well as co-citation and co-authorship networks; the study revealed that the research on business and economics is a niche area within the vast biobanking literature. The research is concentrated in a relatively small number of journals, institutions, and countries, which is rather surprising given the substantial public investment in and concerns about biobank sustainability. The structural analysis also suggested major themes in research on biobanking business and economics and noted shifts in focus on specific themes. The commercialisation of samples is more acknowledged than before but under the condition of equitable sharing of benefits across various stakeholders. Most biobanks are heavily subsidised by the public sector and are considered public goods rather than business enterprises. This is OK, but underutilisation of specimens and low rates of cost recovery suggest that the current mainstream operating model is hardly sustainable. With many biobanks maturing, long-term sustainability became a key topic of the discussion on biobanking trends

Declination Angle Gage for Tilt Measurement Sensors
AbstractThere are many examples of devices which need information about tilt angle. Legged mobile robots need tilt information for locomotion stabilization. Coaxial two wheeled mobile devices and snake like robots need tilt information for vertical stabilization. Safety systems for monitoring of dangerous tilt angle are sometime needed. The calibration and testing process is very important before using of the tilt sensors. This paper deals with declination angle gage for testing of these tilt sensors. Declination angle gage allows setting any reference angle for testing of tilt sensor. Calibration and testing process explores the validity and uncertainty of measurement through the tested tilt sensor
Residual Stress Distribution Analysis in Advanced Materials by Neutron Diffraction: The Case of Spherical Storage Tank Butt Weld
The two-axis diffractometer SPN-100 at the Center of Accelerators and Nuclear Analytical Methods (CANAM) in Řež, is a neutron diffraction instrument dedicated to residual stress analyses in polycrystalline materials, it has recently been equipped with a new two-dimensional position sensitive detector (2D-PSD) and a six-axis robotic arm for sample positioning. Recent results of strain/stress distribution measurements with the upgraded tools are presented. The measured materials are made of C-Mn unalloyed steel used for spherical storage tank. Welding-induced residual stresses have direct influence on ductility and toughness of both weld metal and heat affected zone of the weld area, which affect the service life time of structures. Normal, transversal and longitudinal components of the stresses obtained in the vicinity of the butt weld from a spherical storage tank were measured by neutron diffraction at CANAM
