A qualitative study to explore the help seeking views relating to depression among older Black Caribbean adults living in the UK
Numbers of older adults are rising globally. In the UK, rates of mental ill-health are thought to be higher in Black Asian and Minority Ethnic community than in the white population. Older adults from BAME groups are an under researched group. It is important to understand the experiences and beliefs that underlie help seeking behaviour among BAME older adults to deliver effective, culturally appropriate and accessible services. This study aims to explore help seeking views and strategies utilised in relation to depression among older Black Caribbean people in the UK. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 8 UK Black Caribbean participants, aged between 65-79 years. Transcripts were analysed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. Three master themes emerged from the analysis: 1. “If you don’t know, you don’t seek help 2. ‘..I knew I was depressed”: 3. “You have to decide”: Attitudes to help seeking and mental health service use. Participants’ past personal experiences of coping with depression, including migratory histories, cultural and religious views and personal relationships influenced their help seeking views and preferred coping methods for depression
Diffusive Atomistic Dynamics of Edge Dislocations in Two Dimensions
The fundamental dislocation processes of glide, climb, and annihilation are
studied on diffusive time scales within the framework of a continuum field
theory, the Phase Field Crystals (PFC) model. Glide and climb are examined for
single edge dislocations subjected to shear and compressive strain,
respectively, in a two dimensional hexagonal lattice. It is shown that the
natural features of these processes are reproduced without any explicit
consideration of elasticity theory or ad hoc construction of microscopic
Peierls potentials. Particular attention is paid to the Peierls barrier for
dislocation glide/climb and the ensuing dynamic behavior as functions of strain
rate, temperature, and dislocation density. It is shown that the dynamics are
accurately described by simple viscous motion equations for an overdamped point
mass, where the dislocation mobility is the only adjustable parameter. The
critical distance for the annihilation of two edge dislocations as a function

Cryogenic fluid management experiment
The cryogenic fluid management experiment (CFME), designed to characterize subcritical liquid hydrogen storage and expulsion in the low-q space environment, is discussed. The experiment utilizes a fine mesh screen fluid management device to accomplish gas-free liquid expulsion and a thermodynamic vent system to intercept heat leak and control tank pressure. The experiment design evolved from a single flight prototype to provision for a multimission (up to 7) capability. A detailed design of the CFME, a dynamic test article, and dedicated ground support equipment were generated. All materials and parts were identified, and components were selected and specifications prepared. Long lead titanium pressurant spheres and the flight tape recorder and ground reproduce unit were procured. Experiment integration with the shuttle orbiter, Spacelab, and KSC ground operations was coordinated with the appropriate NASA centers, and experiment interfaces were defined. Phase 1 ground and flight safety reviews were conducted. Costs were estimated for fabrication and assembly of the CFME, which will become the storage and supply tank for a cryogenic fluid management facility to investigate fluid management in space

Analysis and application of digital spectral warping in analog and mixed-signal testing
Spectral warping is a digital signal processing transform which shifts the frequencies contained within a signal along the frequency axis. The Fourier transform coefficients of a warped signal correspond to frequency-domain 'samples' of the original signal which are unevenly spaced along the frequency axis. This property allows the technique to be efficiently used for DSP-based analog and mixed-signal testing. The analysis and application of spectral warping for test signal generation, response analysis, filter design, frequency response evaluation, etc. are discussed in this paper along with examples of the software and hardware implementation

Invasion threshold in heterogeneous metapopulation networks
We study the dynamics of epidemic and reaction-diffusion processes in
metapopulation models with heterogeneous connectivity pattern. In SIR-like
processes, along with the standard local epidemic threshold, the system
exhibits a global invasion threshold. We provide an explicit expression of the
threshold that sets a critical value of the diffusion/mobility rate below which
the epidemic is not able to spread to a macroscopic fraction of subpopulations.
The invasion threshold is found to be affected by the topological fluctuations
of the metapopulation network. The presented results provide a general
framework for the understanding of the effect of travel restrictions in

Collective synchronization induced by epidemic dynamics on complex networks with communities
Much recent empirical evidence shows that \textit{community structure} is
ubiquitous in the real-world networks. In this Letter, we propose a growth
model to create scale-free networks with the tunable strength (noted by ) of
community structure and investigate the influence of community strength upon
the collective synchronization induced by SIRS epidemiological process. Global
and local synchronizability of the system is studied by means of an order
parameter and the relevant finite-size scaling analysis is provided. The
numerical results show that, a phase transition occurs at from
global synchronization to desynchronization and the local synchronization is
weakened in a range of intermediately large . Moreover, we study the impact

Methods of Nature: Landscapes from the Gettysburg College Collection is the third annual exhibition curated by students enrolled in the Art History Methods course. The exhibition is an exciting academic endeavor and incredible opportunity for engaged learning, research, and curatorial experience. The five student curators are Molly Chason ’17, Leah Falk ’18, Shannon Gross ’17, Bailey Harper ’19 and Laura Waters ’19. The selection of artworks in this exhibition includes the depiction of landscape in the nineteenth- and twentieth-century French, American and East Asian cultural traditions in various art forms from traditional media of paintings and prints to utilitarian artifacts of porcelain and a paper folding fan. Landscape paintings in this exhibition are inspired by nature, specific locales and literature. Each object carries a distinctive characteristic, a mood, and an ambience.
