    Podcast como prática pedagógica de sala de aula invertida

    The year 2020 was marked by several changes in our daily lives due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with changes in the way we socialize with people, including the school. One of the challenges of education was the establishment of remote teaching, causing students to remain in the teaching-learning process using computers and / or cell phones as a way of communicating with the teacher. Thus, this study presents the development of podcasts as a pedagogical practice of active methodology through the Flipped Classroom. It was noticed that this methodology was successful for giving protagonism to the student in the production of didactic material, as well as providing collaborative and collective teaching without classroom teachingO ano de 2020 foi marcado por diversas mudanças no nosso cotidiano devido a pandemia da COVID-19, com alterações no modo em que socializamos com as pessoas, incluindo a escola. Um dos desafios da educação foi o estabelecimento de um ensino remoto, fazendo com que alunos permanecessem no processo de ensino-aprendizagem utilizando computadores e/ou celulares como forma de comunicação com o(a) professor(a). Destarte, esse estudo apresenta a elaboração de podcasts como prática pedagógica de metodologia ativa através da Sala de Aula Invertida. Foi percebido que tal metodologia teve êxito por dar protagonismo ao aluno na produção de material didático, bem como proporcionar um ensino colaborativo e coletivo sem ensino presencial

    Rapidly rotating second-generation progenitors for the blue hook stars of {\omega} Cen

    Horizontal Branch stars belong to an advanced stage in the evolution of the oldest stellar galactic population, occurring either as field halo stars or grouped in globular clusters. The discovery of multiple populations in these clusters, that were previously believed to have single populations gave rise to the currently accepted theory that the hottest horizontal branch members (the blue hook stars, which had late helium-core flash ignition, followed by deep mixing) are the progeny of a helium-rich "second generation" of stars. It is not known why such a supposedly rare event (a late flash followed by mixing) is so common that the blue hook of {\omega} Cen contains \sim 30% of horizontal branch stars 10 , or why the blue hook luminosity range in this massive cluster cannot be reproduced by models. Here we report that the presence of helium core masses up to \sim 0.04 solar masses larger than the core mass resulting from evolution is required to solve the luminosity range problem. We model this by taking into account the dispersion in rotation rates achieved by the progenitors, whose premain sequence accretion disc suffered an early disruption in the dense environment of the cluster's central regions where second-generation stars form.     Hubble Space Telescope survey of Magellanic Cloud star clusters: photometry and astrometry of 113 clusters and early results

    In the past few years, we have undertaken an extensive investigation of star clusters and their stellar populations in the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds (LMC and SMC) based on archival images collected with the Hubble Space Telescope. We present photometry and astrometry of stars in 101 fields observed with the Wide Field Channel of the Advanced Camera for Surveys and the Ultraviolet and Visual Channel and the Near-Infrared Channel of Wide Field Camera 3. These fields comprise 113 star clusters. We provide differential-reddening maps for those clusters with significant reddening variations across the field of view. We illustrate various scientific outcomes that arise from the early inspection of the photometric catalogs. In particular, we provide new insights into the extended main-sequence turnoff (eMSTO) phenomenon: (i) We detected eMSTOs in two clusters, KMHK 361 and NGC 265, which had no previous evidence of multiple populations. This finding corroborates the conclusion that the eMSTO is a widespread phenomenon among clusters younger than ~2 Gyr. (ii) The homogeneous color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) of 19 LMC clusters reveal that the distribution of stars along the eMSTO depends on cluster age. (iii) We discovered a new feature along the eMSTO of NGC 1783, which consists of a distinct group of stars on the red side of the eMSTO in CMDs composed of UV filters. Furthermore, we derived the proper motions of stars in the fields of view of clusters with multi-epoch images. Proper motions allowed us to separate the bulk of bright field stars from cluster members and investigate the internal kinematics of stellar populations in various LMC and SMC fields. As an example, we analyze the field around NGC 346 to disentangle the motions of its stellar populations, including NGC 364 and BS 90, young and pre-main-sequence stars in the star-forming region associated with NGC 346, and young and old field stellar populations of the SMC. Based on these results and the fields around five additional clusters, we find that young SMC stars exhibit elongated proper-motion distributions that point toward the LMC, thus providing new evidence for a kinematic connection between the LMC and SMC.We thank the anonymous referee for various suggestions that improved the quality of the manuscript.     The VMC survey - XVII : The proper motions of the Small Magellanic Cloud and the Milky Way globular cluster 47 Tucanae

    In this study we use multi-epoch near-infrared observations from the VISTA survey of the Magellanic Cloud system (VMC) to measure the proper motion of different stellar populations in a tile of 1.5 deg sq. in size in the direction of the Galactic globular cluster 47 Tuc. We obtain the proper motion of the cluster itself, of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), and of the field Milky Way stars. Stars of the three main stellar components are selected from their spatial distribution and their distribution in colour-magnitude diagrams. Their average coordinate displacement is computed from the difference between multiple Ks-band observations for stars as faint as Ks=19 mag. Proper motions are derived from the slope of the best-fitting line among 10 VMC epochs over a time baseline of ~1 yr. Background galaxies are used to calibrate the absolute astrometric reference frame. The resulting absolute proper motion of 47 Tuc is (mu_alpha cos(delta), mu_delta)=(+7.26+/-0.03, -1.25+/-0.03) mas/yr. This measurement refers to about 35000 sources distributed between 10 and 60 arcmin from the cluster centre. For the SMC we obtain (mu_alpha cos(delta), mu_delta)=(+1.16+/-0.07, -0.81+/-0.07) mas/yr from about 5250 red clump and red giant branch stars. The absolute proper motion of the Milky Way population in the line-of-sight (l =305.9, b =-44.9) of this VISTA tile is (mu_alpha cos(delta), mu_delta)=(+10.22+/-0.14, -1.27+/-0.12) mas/yr and results from about 4000 sources. Systematic uncertainties associated to the astrometric reference system are 0.18 mas/yr. Thanks to the proper motion we detect 47 Tuc stars beyond its tidal radius.Peer reviewe

A partir da análise de conteúdo temática, foi discutida a construção da experiência, da identidade e a necessidade da supervisão-apoio do apoiador institucional. Consideram-se as barreiras na construção de novas práticas de atenção à saúde e de gestão, com o desafio de institucionalizar a proposta e fortalecer a Educação Permanente, como ferramentas para a reorganização da gestão da Atenção Básica

    Genetic differences in cystic fibrosis patients with and without pancreatic insufficiency. An Italian collaborative study.

    To determine the number and frequency of mutations that occur at the cystic fibrosis locus (CF), we have examined the allele and haplotype frequencies of eight polymorphic DNA markers linked to CF in 163 Italian patients who were sub-divided according to their clinical presentations. The distribution of haplotypes for the tightly linked polymorphisms KM.19 and XV-2c differ significantly between patients with and those without pancreatic insufficiency. The haplotype found most commonly in CF chromosomes occurs much more frequently in pancreatic insufficient than in pancreatic sufficient patients. Among the 19 pancreatic sufficient patients, 6 (31.6%) show at least one copy of the rare KM.19 = 1, XV-2c = 2 haplotype, as against 16 of 138 patients (11.6%) with pancreatic insufficiency. In addition, only 5 pancreatic sufficient patients (26.3%) are homozygous for the common 2.1 haplotype, as compared with 88 patients (63.8%) with pancreatic insufficiency. These findings support the hypothesis of allelic heterogeneity at a single locus in CF and suggest that different mutations underlie the presence or absence of pancreatic insufficiency in this disorders

    Cerebrospinal Fluid EV Concentration and Size Are Altered in Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia with Lewy Bodies

    Alzheimer’s disease (AD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) represent the three major neurodegenerative dementias characterized by abnormal brain protein accumulation. In this study, we investigated extracellular vesicles (EVs) and neurotrophic factors in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of 120 subjects: 36 with AD, 30 with DLB, 34 with FTD and 20 controls. Specifically, CSF EVs were analyzed by Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis and neurotrophic factors were measured with ELISA. We found higher EV concentration and lower EV size in AD and DLB groups compared to the controls. Classification tree analysis demonstrated EV size as the best parameter able to discriminate the patients from the controls (96.7% vs. 3.3%, respectively). The diagnostic performance of the EV concentration/size ratio resulted in a fair discrimination level with an area under the curve of 0.74. Moreover, the EV concentration/size ratio was associated with the p-Tau181/Aβ42 ratio in AD patients. In addition, we described altered levels of cystatin C and progranulin in the DLB and AD groups. We did not find any correlation between neurotrophic factors and EV parameters. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest a common involvement of the endosomal pathway in neurodegenerative dementias, giving important insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying these pathologies
