X-FEM algorithm with closest point projection fracture representation

    No full text
Abstract: In this work we consider a variant of X-FEM method which uses representation of fracture surface based on closest point projection method. The algorithm description is provided and its differences from the classical variants of X-FEM which utilize fracture representation based on level set approach. Simulation results which demonstrate efficiency of the proposed approach are presented.Note: Research direction:Mathematical modelling in actual problems of science and technic

    Numerical simulation of poroelasticity problems

    No full text
Abstract: In this work a mathematical problem statement for poroelasticity is presented in details. The nonisothermal case is considered. Equations of the model are described as well as constitutive relations for the case of small strains. A finite element method for the solution of the problem is reviewed. Results of the numerical simulations for a number of common test problems are presented.Note: Research direction:Mathematical modelling in actual problems of science and technic
