Statistical and Dynamic Models of Charge Balance Functions
Charge balance functions, which identify balancing particle-antiparticle
pairs on a statistical basis, have been shown to be sensitive to whether
hadronization is delayed by several fm/c in relativistic heavy ion collisions.
Results from two classes of models are presented here, microscopic hadronic
models and thermal models. The microscopic models give results which are
contrary to recently published pi+pi- balance functions from the STAR
collaboration, whereas the thermal model roughly reproduce the experimental
results. This suggests that charge conservation is local at breakup, which is
in line with expectations for a delayed hadronization. Predictions are also
presented for balance functions binned as a function of Q_inv.Comment: 12 pages 6 figure
Do Search for Dibaryonic De - Excitations in Relativistic Nuclear Reactions
Some odd characteristics are observed in the single particle distributions
obtained from interactions at momenta which are
explained as the manifestation of a new mechanism of strangeness production via
dibaryonic de-excitations. A signature of the formation of hadronic and
baryonic clusters is also reported. The di-pionic signals of the dibaryonic
orbital de-excitations are analyzed in the frame of the MIT - bag Model and a
Monte Carlo simulation.The role played by the dibaryonic resonances in
relativistic nuclear collisions could be a significant one.

Anti-Hyperon Enhancement through Baryon Junction Loops
The baryon junction exchange mechanism recently proposed to explain valence
baryon number transport in nuclear collisions is extended to study midrapidity
anti-hyperon production. Baryon junction-anti-junction (J anti-J) loops are
shown to enhance anti-Lambda, anti-Xi, anti-Omega yields as well as lead to
long range rapidity correlations. Results are compared to recent WA97 Pb + Pb
-> Y + anti-Y + X data.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figure
Production of resonances in a thermal model: invariant-mass spectra and balance functions
We present a calculation of the pi+ pi- invariant-mass correlations and the
pion balance functions in the single-freeze-out model. A satisfactory agreement

Boundary breathers in the sinh-Gordon model
We present an investigation of the boundary breather states of the
sinh-Gordon model restricted to a half-line. The classical boundary breathers
are presented for a two parameter family of integrable boundary conditions.
Restricting to the case of boundary conditions which preserve the \phi -->
-\phi symmetry of the bulk theory, the energy spectrum of the boundary states
is computed in two ways: firstly, by using the bootstrap technique and
subsequently, by using a WKB approximation. Requiring that the two descriptions
of the spectrum agree with each other allows a determination of the
relationship between the boundary parameter, the bulk coupling constant, and
the parameter appearing in the reflection factor derived by Ghoshal to describe
the scattering of the sinh-Gordon particle from the boundary.Comment: 16 pages amslate
Baryon Junction Loops in HIJING/B\=Bv2.0 and the Baryon/Meson Anomaly at RHIC
A new version, v2.0, of the HIJING/B\=B Monte Carlo nuclear collision event
generator is introduced in order to explore further the possible role of baryon
junctions loops in the baryon/meson anomaly (2 5 GeV/c) observed in
200A GeV Au+Au reactions at RHIC. We show that junction loops with an enhanced
intrinsic GeV/c transverse momentum kick may provide a partial
explanation of the anomaly as well as other important baryon stopping

Centrality and dE_{T}/d\etadN_{ch}/d\eta$ in Heavy Ion Collisions at Mid-Rapidity
The PHENIX experiment at RHIC has measured transverse energy and charged
particle multiplicity at mid-rapidity in Au + Au collisions at
= 19.6, 130, 62.4 and 200 GeV as a function of centrality. The presented
results are compared to measurements from other RHIC experiments, and
experiments at lower energies. The dependence of
and per pair of participants is consistent with logarithmic
scaling for the most central events. The centrality dependence of
and is similar at all measured incident
energies. At RHIC energies the ratio of transverse energy per charged particle
was found independent of centrality and growing slowly with . A
survey of comparisons between the data and available theoretical models is also

Chemical equilibration of strangeness
Thermal models are very useful in the understanding of particle production in
general and especially in the case of strangeness. We summarize the assumptions
which go into a thermal model calculation and which differ in the application
of various groups. We compare the different results to each other. Using our
own calculation we discuss the validity of the thermal model and the amount of
strangeness equilibration at CERN-SPS energies. Finally the implications of the

Predictions for Pb Collisions at TeV: Comparison with Data
Predictions made in Albacete {\it et al} prior to the LHC Pb run at
TeV are compared to currently available data. Some
predictions shown here have been updated by including the same experimental
cuts as the data. Some additional predictions are also presented, especially
for quarkonia, that were provided to the experiments before the data were made

Directed flow of antiprotons in Au+Au collisions at AGS
Directed flow of antiprotons is studied in Au+Au collisions at a beam
momentum of 11.5A GeV/c. It is shown that antiproton directed flow is
anti-correlated to proton flow. The measured transverse momentum dependence of
the antiproton flow is compared with predictions of the RQMD event generator.Comment: 16 pages, 6 figure
