Cet ouvrage est un recueil de toutes les traditions qui se rapportent à ʿAlî ibn Moûsâ al-Ridhâ, l'un des douze imâms. Il est divisé en soixante et dix chapitres, mais l'auteur déclare dans la préface, à deux reprises, que le nombre des chapitres était de cent quatre-vingt-treize.
