The article aims to offer activities to contribute to the development of communication skills in English for occupational purposes of the members of the personal security directorate of the Ministry of the Interior. For its development, theoretical methods are used: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, document analysis, modeling; empirical methods: observation, survey, interview, triangulation; and methods and techniques of descriptive and inferential statistics, which allow demonstrating the relevance of activities and effectiveness in social practice. This construct offers a concrete response to the dialectical contradiction between the need for the members of the Directorate of Personal Security of the Ministry of the Interior to develop communication skills in English for Occupational Purposes and the deficiencies that they show in their communicative performance in terms of linguistic aspects. , strategic, discursive and socioculture ; to contribute to the solution of the scientific problem: Insufficiencies in the development of communication skills in English for occupational purposes, which limit the communicative performance in terms of linguistic, strategic, discursive and socio-cultural aspects of the members of the Ministry's Personal Safety Directorate inland.El artículo tiene como objetivo ofrecer actividades para contribuir al desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas en inglés con fines ocupacionales de los miembros de la dirección de seguridad personal del Ministerio del Interior. Para su desarrollo se emplean métodos teóricos: analítico-sintético, inductivo-deductivo, análisis de documentos, modelación; métodos empíricos: observación, encuesta, entrevista, triangulación; y métodos y técnicas de la estadística descriptiva e inferencial, que permiten demostrar la pertinencia de las actividades y la efectividad en la práctica social. The incorporation of girls and boys to the practice of sports is one of the tasks of Physical Education. Therefore, the objective of the research is framed in "To elaborate an alternative of predeportive games that favors the sportive initiation and the incorporation of the students to the practice of the Basketball." The investigation was developed in the rural elementary school Arquímides Colina of Mabay in Bayamo, with schoolchildren from 9 to 11. The alternative of predeportive games is a way to encourage sports initiation and the projective incorporation of schoolchildren to the practice of Basketball in the Physical Education class and Sports for All.La incorporación de niñas y niños a la práctica de deportiva es una de las tareas de la Educación Física. The members of the personal security directorate of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) of Cuba, in their different actions, require knowledge of the English language to be in tune with scientific-technical development. The need to master this language is based on the various functions performed by the members of this direction; Among others, we can mention those of guaranteeing the security of foreign leaders and delegations that visit the country, as well as finding ways and means to transmit and exchange classified information with foreign counterparts. The article aims to offer an electronic book, with exercises and activities that help make viable the multilateral exchange between the students, the teacher and the group, based on the professional experiences of the members of Personal Security in their contexts of action. For its development, theoretical methods are used: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, document analysis, modeling; empirical methods: observation, survey, interview, triangulation; and methods and techniques of descriptive and inferential statistics, which allow demonstrating the relevance of the activities and the effectiveness in social practice.Los miembros de la dirección de seguridad personal del Ministerio del Interior (MININT) de Cuba, en sus diferentes actuaciones, requieren del conocimiento del idioma inglés para estar a tono con el desarrollo científico- técnico. La necesidad del dominio de este idioma se sustenta en las variadas funciones que ejercen los miembros de esta dirección; entre otras se pueden mencionar las de garantizar la seguridad de líderes y delegaciones extranjeras que visitan el país, así como encontrar medios y formas para transmitir e intercambiar información clasificada con los homólogos extranjeros. Sistema de ejercicios técnico- tácticos para el tachi-waza en la categoría 11/12 años (Original)

Judo is considered a sports of combat and in its practice exists a scientific breach from Kumi's work kata in category 11/12 years, even though this area of the sports practice constitutes priority to attain the competitive success. Present investigation has like fundamental objective to design a technical exercising system tacticians for the ability of the Kumi Kata in the TachiWaza in the aforementioned category. As from scientific general methods and techniques of documentary revision, nonparticipating observation, descriptive statistics and inferencial between another one, it was possible to diagnose the present condition of the teaching of the Kumi Kata, to identify referent been worth of techniques and tacticses of proven success than, integrated coherently to the recommendations metodológicas sold off by the Program of comprehensive preparation of Judo's sportsman, they allowed proposing a technical exercising system tacticians. He was techniques Or UchiGari, Uchi Mata, Ko Soto Gari determinedly, SeoiNage and IpponSeoiNage are the one with greatest hit in the high competition, being once everything for category were  dominated 11/12 years. Five types of grasps were categorized from literature and identified like regularities in the winning mentioned actions. Integrating the selected techniques, the identified grasps, the features of category and the indications gathered in the PIPDJ an exercising system was proposed technical tactical for the ability of the Kumi Kata in the TachiWaza in category 11/12 years.El Judo es considerado un deporte de combate y en su práctica existe una brecha científica desde el trabajo de Kumi-kata en la categoría 11/12 años, aun cuando esta área de la práctica deportiva constituye prioridad para alcanzar el éxito competitivo. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo fundamental diseñar un sistema de ejercicios técnico- tácticos para la habilidad del Kumi-Kata en el Tachi- Waza en dicha categoría. A partir de métodos científicos generales y técnicas de revisión documental, observación no participante, estadística descriptiva e inferencial entre otras, fue posible diagnosticar el estado actual de la enseñanza de los Kumi-Kata, identificar referentes válidos de técnicas y tácticas de éxito probado que, integradas coherentemente a las recomendaciones metodológicas realizadas por el Programa de preparación integral del deportista de Judo, permitieron proponer un sistema de ejercicios técnico-tácticos. Fue determinado que las técnicas O-Uchi-Gari, Uchi-Mata, Ko-Soto-Gari,Seoi-Nage e Ippon-Seoi-Nage son las de mayor éxito en la alta competición, siendo dominadas todas por la categoría 11/12 años. Cinco tipos de agarres fueron tipificados desde la literatura e identificados como regularidades en las acciones ganadoras mencionadas. Integrando las técnicas seleccionadas, los agarres identificados, los rasgos de la categoría y las indicaciones recogidas en el PIPDJ fue propuesto un sistema de ejercicios técnico-tácticos para la habilidad del Kumi-Kata en el Tachi-Waza en la categoría 11/12 años

Evaluación de dos técnicas para la detección molecular de rickettsia asociada a la enfermedad del cogollo arrepollado del papayo en Cuba

El objetivo de este estudio fue optimizar una técnica de diagnóstico para rickettsia-PBT, bacteria asociada a la enfermedad cogollo arrepollado del papayo (PBT), basada en la hibridación de ácidos nucleicos no radiactiva (HANS-PBT), y comparar la factibilidad de su uso con respecto a la PCR convencional. Se optimizó un procedimiento de HANS-PBT que permitió la detección específica de hasta 15 pg de ADN del gen sdhA de rickettsia-PBT. La evaluación de 141 controles caracterizados mediante PCR convencional (PCRPBT), mostró parámetros de desempeño de la HANS-PBT favorables, con una especificidad diagnóstica (ED) de 97,2% y sensibilidad diagnóstica (SD) de 98,5%. Los análisis simultáneos mediante las dos técnicas de 179 muestras colectadas mayormente en plantaciones del occidente de Cuba evidenciaron la presencia de rickettsia- PBT en 118 plantas. Los parámetros de desempeño de la PCR-PBT y HANS-PBT en la evaluación de estas muestras fueron similares, 96% y 98% de ED, 89% y 75% de SD, respectivamente. Aunque la HANS-PBT mostró valores de sensibilidad menores a la PCR-PBT, es factible su uso para programas de mejoramiento genético o prospecciones en estudios epidemiológicos de la diseminación de la bacteria.Palabras clave: cogollo arrepollado del papayo, rickettsia, hibridación, papayo, especificidad, sensibilidad.EVALUATION OF TWO TECHNIQUES FOR THE MOLECULAR DIAGNOSIS OF RICKETTSIA ASSOCIATED TO PAPAYA BUNCHY TOP DISEASE IN CUBAABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to develop a technique based on non radioactive nucleic acid hybridization for the diagnosis of rickettsia-PBT bacterium associated to the papaya bunchy top disease (NASHPBT), and to evaluate its use compared with the conventional PCR. The optimized NASH-PBT method allowed the specific detection of 15 pg of sdhA gen DNA of rickettsia-PBT. The validation parameters in the evaluation of 141 controls previously characterized by PCR evidenced the reliability of the technique, showing diagnosis sensitivity (DS) of 97.2% and diagnosis specificity (DE) of 98.5%. The simultaneous analysis by the NASHPBT and conventional PCR (PCR-PBT) of 179 samples recovered from commercial fields, mostly of the western region of Cuba, evidenced the presence of rickettsia-PBT in 118 plants. The parameters of validations of PCR-PBT and NASH-PBT in the analysis of these samples were 89% and 75% for DS and 96% and 98% for DE, respectively. Despite the lower sensibility value showed respect to NASH-PBT PCR-PBT, its use for genetic improvement programs or surveys in epidemiological studies of this pathogen is realiable.Key words: papaya bunchy top, rickettsia, hybridization, papayo, sensitivity, specificity

Diseño de un sistema electrónico utilizando módulos XBee para transmitir voz

The current paper addresses the design of an electronic system using XBee modules to transmit voice. These modules operate on the IEEE 802.15.4 wireless standard, which is not originally intended to transmit voice. A configurable model is presented as both, a master or a terminal device. The printed circuit board supporting this application and operation is discussed. A terminal equipment is programmed through the use of a protocol, this specifically designed for acquiring, digitizing, compressing and packing the voice signal using a microcontroller. Packages are delivered via serial communication to an XBee module that allows wireless communication with other XBee module located in the master device. The master device performs the function of managing receiver in order to reconstruct the voice signal. Moreover, the structure of the various commands is shown. These commands are used for implement the communication protocol and allow to monitor the terminal devices by the master device. Finally, the results are obtained using two complementary models and the distortion of the received signal is analyzed.En el presente trabajo se muestra el diseño de un sistema electrónico que utiliza módulos XBee para transmitir voz. Dichos módulos operan sobre el estándar inalámbrico IEEE 802.15.4, el cual no está concebido originalmente para transmitir voz. Se presenta una maqueta configurable como dispositivo coordinador o terminal, se muestra el circuito impreso que da soporte a esta aplicación así como su funcionamiento. Un equipo terminal usando un microcontrolador adquiere la señal de voz, la digitaliza, la comprime y la empaqueta regido por un protocolo diseñado específicamente para tal fin. Los paquetes son entregados vía serie a un módulo XBee que permite la comunicación inalámbrica con otro módulo XBee situado en el dispositivo coordinador. El coordinador realiza la función de receptor logrando reconstruir la señal de voz. Además, se muestra la estructura de los diferentes comandos que conforman el protocolo de comunicación diseñado para lograr que el coordinador controle a los dispositivos terminales. Finalmente, se exponen los resultados obtenidos al someter a dos maquetas complementarias a una serie de pruebas de funcionamiento

Relevancia de componentes del eje hipotálamo-hipófisis-gonadal en la fisiopatología de proteinopatías del sistema nervioso

Introduction: Several proteinopathies of the nervous system are associated with disturbances in components of the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis.Objective: To assess the relevance of components of the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis to the pathophysiology of nervous system proteinopathies.Material and Methods: A literature review was carried out from January to December 2018. Several databases were searched by using Boolean operators. The advanced search strategy was used for the selection of articles, and the methodological quality and validity of the studies were taken into account.Results: Disturbances of the normal function of the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis were identified in several nervous system proteinopathies. The most frequently reported disturbances were the increase in gonadotropins levels, mainly in luteinizing hormone, in Alzheimer´s disease, and the decrease in testosterone levels in Alzheimer´s, Parkinson´s and Huntington´s diseases, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, with the resulting worsening of the clinical phenotype. Preliminary evidence was obtained pointing to a possible hypothalamic dysfunction in Spinocerebellar ataxia patients.Conclusions: Even when evidence were gathered supporting a link between the pathophysiology of nervous system proteinopathies and disturbances in components of the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis, deeper and more comprehensive studies will be needed to confirm these associations and to characterize the underlying molecular mechanisms.Introducción: Varias proteinopatías del sistema nervioso están asociadas a la ocurrencia de alteraciones en componentes del eje hipotálamo-hipófisis-gonadal.Objetivo: Reflejar la relevancia de componentes del eje hipotálamo-hipófisis-gonadal en la fisiopatología de proteinopatías del sistema nervioso.Material y Métodos: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica durante los meses de enero de 2018 a diciembre de 2018. Fueron consultadas bases de datos de referencia, con el uso de descriptores y operadores booleanos. La estrategia de búsqueda avanzada para la selección de los artículos fue empleada, teniendo en cuenta la calidad metodológica o validez de los estudios.Desarrollo: Fueron identificaron alteraciones del funcionamiento normal del eje hipotálamo-hipófisis-gonadal en varias proteinopatías del sistema nervioso. Las alteraciones más frecuentemente reportadas fueron el incremento en los niveles de gonadotropinas, principalmente de la hormona luteinizante, en la enfermedad de Alzheimer, y la disminución de los niveles de testosterona en las enfermedades de Alzheimer, Parkinson, Huntington y Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica, con el consiguiente agravamiento del fenotipo clínico. Se obtuvieron evidencias de naturaleza preliminar, que fundamentan la posible ocurrencia de disfunción hipotalámica en pacientes con Ataxias espinocerebelosas.Conclusiones: Aun cuando existen evidencias que demuestran la existencia de un vínculo entre la fisiopatología de proteinopatías del sistema nervioso y alteraciones en componentes del eje hipotálamo-hipófisis-gonadal, se requerirán estudios más extensos e integrales para confirmar estas asociaciones y para caracterizar los mecanismos moleculares implicados

Biosensors for unattended cost-effective and continuous monitoring of environmental pollution: Automated water analyser computer supported system (AWACSS) and river analyser (RIANA)

This work describes our recent progress and achievements in the field of fully automated biosensors (Automated Water Analyser Computer Supported System (AWACSS) and River Analyser (RIANA)) for unattended, cost-effective and continuous monitoring of environmental pollution. We report on ultra-sensitive immunoassays for the hormones progesterone, testosterone and estrone and the pesticides propanil and isoproturon as examples of the outstanding progress made on biosensors in the field of environmental monitoring and water analysis. Most of the bio-active organic pollutants (estrone, progesterone, propanil and isoproturon) were detected at levels as low as 1.0pgm/L or even below. In fact, the reported limits of detection (LOD) were between 0.2 and 6.0pgm/L. For the first time, commercially available derivatives and antibodies were incorporated into immunoassays (progesterone and testosterone) for fully automated biosensors. To verify the assay performance for quantifying testosterone, progesterone, and isoproturon in real-world samples using our immunosensors, we spiked river and drinking water at six different levels from 0.9pgm/L to 90ngm/L. Nearly all recovery rates could be obtained between 70 and 120% as the AOAC International recommends it chiefly for water analysis
