This building has a basement, four storeys and an attic. In the basement there is a private garage, air conditioning equipment, fuel and refuse stores, and private lockers for the various apartments. The ground floor has two dwellings and the open entrance, where there is a receptionist's desk and the post boxes. The other floors have two dwellings, each of 220 m2 area, and another of 440 m2. The attic has two small outbuildings, each of them containing a large room, or studio. This building has been lavishly designed, and space distribution is carefully planned. The interplay of volumes, and charming overall design give this project a distinctive and attractive quality.Consta de sótano, planta baja, tres plantas de pisos y ático. La planta de sótano aloja: el garaje particular de la casa, las instalaciones de aire acondicionado, almacén de carburantes, almacén de basuras y trasteros para cada vivienda o estudio. La planta baja comprende: dos viviendas y el zaguán, en el cual hay un mostrador para la conserjería y los casilleros postales. La planta tipo consta de dos viviendas: una de 220 m2 y otra de 440 m2. Y, finalmente, la planta de ático se compone de dos torreones destinados a estudios. El edificio es de una gran riqueza de tratamiento y espacio, cual corresponde a viviendas nobles. Nowdays, the façade built of curtain walls made of varnished aluminium profiles and glass presents no problem. Its watertightness is guaranteed and with the Climalit and Termophane glasses of 6/12/6, 8/12/6 o 6/12/6/12/6 mm depending on the case, the acoustic and heat insulations are resolved. Structurally, we can distinguish the following variants: (see the graphic on page 21). 1.°—Profiles seen in four directions. 2º—Profiles seen in the horizontal direction and hidden In the vertical direction (structural two face silicone). 3º—Profiles seen in the vertical direction and hidden in the horizontal direction (structural two face silicone). 4.°—Hidden profiles (structural four face silicone). The system which is structurally the safest is the first one and it is recommended especially for the façades of a very marked curvature, which, when decomposed to registered polyhedrons, from very pronounced angles between contiguous sides. For buildings in which we want to achieve a sensation of horizontally, we will use the system n.° 2 and in case the sensation of verticality is sought, the n.° 3 will be used. When trying to get a tall building weighing as little as possible and floating in the clouds, we use the system n.° 4. The last one represents Mies Van Der Rohe's antithesis for marking the structure on the outside as much as possible.Hoy día la fachada construida con muro cortina de perfiles de aluminio lacado y vidrio no tiene problemas. Núcleo residencial Puente Genil, Córdoba, España

An ambitious social project has been made at Puente Genil, consisting of 288 living quarters, arranged rationally in six three storey blocks which with their «U» shape, create large patios that can be used by the community members as meeting zones. This criterion, along with the choice of suitable materials befitting the zone, harmonizes the construction with the Andalusian architecture, although it is functionally different from it. In the corners of the blocks twelve shops meet the primary needs of the complex, where the clear separation between the roads and pedestrian ways are also worth mention.En Puente Genil se ha realizado un ambicioso proyecto social constituido por 288 viviendas, racionalmente dispuestas en seis bloques de tres alturas que, con su forma en «U», crean grandes patios utilizables como zonas de reunión por los miembros de la comunidad. Este criterio, junto con la elección de materiales propios de la zona, armoniza la construcción con la arquitectura andaluza, aunque funcionalmente diste tanto de ella. En las esquinas de los bloques doce locales comerciales satisfacen las necesidades primarias del conjunto, en el que también es de destacar la clara separación entre las circulaciones rodada y peatonal

Two recent works of the Architect J. R. Azpiazu are shown in this issue. The interest of each of them is based in punctual aspects with original constructive solutions: — At first, BUSINESS BUILDING IN SANTANDER, the project is very interesting mainly by the planning and design of the structure in wood reenforcement with laminated steel elements. — In the second, BANK OFFICE IN ORIHUELA, the interest of the constructive and formal solution in the helicoidal stair in structural concrete, without central element is the main subject.Se presentan en este trabajo dos obras recientes del Arquitecto José Ramón Azpiazu. The building has been designed for a treble purpose: holiday use, permanent residence and even as an occasional work place. The plot is a large one, nearly flat and landscaped with simplicity and taste in keeping with the adjoining golf course. 
 The house fans out facing South for optimum exposure to sunshine, while affording the best possible views with the swimming pool placed in the most convenient location, i.e., opposite the bedrooms, living room and play area. 
 The day and nighttime accesses are also clearly differentiated, as are the service entrance and garden. 
 The decorative treatment and material used are in keeping with local style, the floor plan and elevations have been very carefully designed so as to achieve a flowing and changing effect, while the interiors have been rather nobily finished and ornamented to fulfill the requirements of the owners.<br><br>La casa se ha concebido para un triple uso: vacacional, vivienda permanente e, incluso, residencia de trabajo ocasional. La parcela es amplia, sensiblemente plana y ajardinada, con sencillez y buen gusto, a tenor del campo de golf inmediato.

The building is situated on an S-shaped 57 m wide and 84 m long site which might appear to be somewhat of a caprice but which in reality is the result of a detailed study of views and orientations. It consists of three storeys: — the semi-basement with the garage; — the main floor comprising: the hall, living rooms, family bedrooms, baths and a complete service section; — the upper floor, with: a study and terrace.
