Dual-wavelength thulium fluoride fiber laser based on SMF-TMSIF-SMF interferometer as potential source for microwave generationin 100-GHz region

    Get PDF
A dual-wavelength thulium-doped fluoride fiber (TDFF) laser is presented. The generation of the TDFF laser is achieved with the incorporation of a single modemultimode- single mode (SMS) interferometer in the laser cavity. The simple SMS interferometer is fabricated using the combination of two-mode step index fiber and single-mode fiber. With this proposed design, as many as eight stable laser lines are experimentally demonstrated. Moreover, when a tunable bandpass filter is inserted in the laser cavity, a dual-wavelength TDFF laser can be achieved in a 1.5-μm region. By heterodyning the dual-wavelength laser, simulation results suggest that the generated microwave signals can be tuned from 105.678 to 106.524 GHz with a constant step of 0.14 GHz. The presented photonics-based microwave generation method could provide alternative solution for 5G signal sources in 100-GHz region

In recent years, Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (PERODUA) had achieved great success in the local automobile industry by receiving many awards and acknowledgements in local and international automotive industry. For the first time, monthly sales of Perodua passenger cars overtook sales of Proton cars. Perodua gained the biggest market share with 27.4% followed closely by Proton at 26.6%. Toyota remained the most popular non-national brand, with 17.4% market share. (AmResearch Sdn Bhd; The Star BizWeek, 1st April 2006). By introducing their latest model that was Myvi, Perodua once again booming their sales by becoming the most demanded car of the year. Thus, it is important for the company to consider and give a full attention to maintain the services even though the car had being delivered to the customers. According to both marketing theory and practical experience, firms should improve their performance by satisfying customers, so as to obtain and sustain advantage in the intensely competitive business environment. This is because the main output of customer satisfaction is customer loyalty, and firms with a bigger share of loyal customers profit from increasing repurchase rates, greater cross-buying potential, higher price-willingness, positive recommendation behaviour and lower switching tendenc

Zakat is the one of the five pillars of Islam, every Muslims must ensure that they will pay the zakat if affordable. Zakat is a mean of fulfilling social responsibility and is an obligation to Muslims for those who have excess wealth of basic needs to give a specific amount of their riches to payees of zakat that meet certain conditions and requirement. Zakat is the pivot approach in Islamic teachings to encounter social problem such as poverty in society by sharing the percentage of wealth to relevant recipients as the obligation to the person who affordable. The traditional system using web-based system. Nowadays, people prefer to use mobile application have become an integral part of daily lives of million people in the world using smartphones or tablets. Therefore, an increasing number of user forcing the developer to develop the mobile application using rule-based technique. A research on the synchronization of two novel chaotic systems based on a nonlinear active control algorithm

    Get PDF
The problem of chaos synchronization is to design a coupling between two chaotic systems (master-slave/drive-response systems configuration) such that the chaotic time evaluation becomes ideal and the output of the slave (response) system asymptotically follows the output of the master (drive) system. This paper has addressed the chaos synchronization problem of two chaotic systems using the Nonlinear Control Techniques, based on Lyapunov stability theory. It has been shown that the proposed schemes have outstanding transient performances and that analytically as well as graphically, synchronization is asymptotically globally stable.Suitable feedback controllers are designed to stabilize the closed-loop system at the origin. All simulation results are carried out to corroborate the effectiveness of the proposed methodologies by using Mathematica 9

    Get PDF
Purpose: This study aimed to explain the challenges experienced in self-directed clinical skill learning specifically in clinical skill laboratory among undergraduate nursing students in Malaysia. Methodology: A qualitative study using in-depth interview was conducted with 16 students attending Bachelor of Nursing in one of the public universities in Malaysia. The interview was open-ended to explore the overall perspective of the participants concerning their view about the problems and challenges they experienced on the self-directed clinical skill learning. Main Findings: Three major themes have been found on self-directed clinical skill learning which are ‘lack of self-management’, ‘lack of desire for learning’ and ‘lack of self-control of learning’. The subthemes for ‘lack of self-management’ are poor time management, lack of communication with educator and lack of assessment of learning needs. The subthemes for ‘lack of desire for learning’ are not open to new ideas, lack of internal motivation, educator-dependent for seeking new knowledge and low quality of supporting learning materials. Lastly, the subtheme for ‘lack of control of learning’ is not realizing the importance of self-evaluation among undergraduate nursing students. Applications: Our findings informed academicians on various problems and challenges that occur in self-directed learning activities in clinical skill laboratory. These findings would assist them in preparing appropriate learning environment and clinical skill activities, which would improve the efficiency of knowledge and skill transfer and also enhance students’ academic performance. Novelty/Originality: Previous studies have identified many challenging factors affecting clinical skill learning among nursing students such as clinical learning environment (e.g. physical, psychosocial, organizational) and students’ learning process based on broad spectrum of perspective without highlighting student-centred point of view. Thus, in our study, we have attempted to explore how nursing students describe the challenging experience of undertaking the process of learning clinical skills from the perspective of a self-directed learner
