Previous research indicates the importance of content creation development in interactive television (iTV) advertising, which could bring the opportunities for advertisers to increase the effectiveness and interactivity of the iTV advertising. Impulse purchase is one of the important factors that influence consumers to purchase product. Previous studies revealed that impulse purchase behavior has been studied in different medium such as website, traditional television, and retail store. However, those studies are not dedicated to design models to increase impulse purchase tendency on iTV advertising. Hence, this study focuses on the development of a Conceptual Design Model of Interactive Television Advertising that could influence impulse purchase tendency. The model is shortnamed as iTVAdIP. Four (4) specific objectives were formulated: (i) to identify relevant impulse purchase components for iTV advertising, (ii) to develop a conceptual design model and a conformity tool of the iTVAdIP that embed impulse purchase tendency elements, (iii) to validate the proposed conceptual design model, and (iv) to measure the perceived influence of the conceptual design model elements on impulse purchase tendency. This study followed design science research methodology. The conceptual design model was validated through expert review. Then, an instrument was developed to measure the perceived influence of the conceptual design model. Eight dimensions were elicited from various relevant studies to form the instrument which are perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, clarity, flexibility, visibility, applicability, satisfaction and motivation. A total of 37 potential advertising designers participated in this study. The results show that all dimensions are significantly correlated to the overall perceived influence, and the mean score of the overall perceived influence is high. Therefore, it is concluded that the iTVAdIP conceptual design model with its proposed elements is perceived as able to influence impulse purchase tendency. The iTVAdIP conceptual design model together with the conformity tool are the main contributions of this study. Both can be adopted as impulse purchase design guidelines for the advertising designers particularly the novice ones

The Effect of Different Soil Types on Growth and Nodulation of Vigna radiata (L) Wilczek Inoculated with Vesicular-arbuscular Mycorrhiza (VAM)

    Get PDF
The potential of using a 'natural' soil with high mycorrhizal spore count as a source of inoculum was evaluated in this preliminary experiment using 4 soil types .. Serdang, Munchong, Malacca and Bungor. Results obtained on the dry weight and P content ofplant tops was not significant between treatments but was significant between the soil types used. This could be due to the duration of the experiment being too short to enable these endogonaceous species to establish well in these soils and bring about significant growth response of the mungbean plants

Two greenhouse experiments and one field trial were conducted to provide information on the possibility of exploiting the beneficial effects of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in Malaysian agriculture. In the first study, winged bean (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus) was grown in steam-sterilized Serdang soils and the development of the endophytes evaluated fortnightly. The second experiment was conducted in unsterilized Serdang and Munchong soils respectively with three levels ofP and/or inoculated with Acaulospora laevis, Glomus macrocarpum, Glomus mosseae, a mixture of Glomus species and Scutellospora calospora. All inocula, except for S. calospora, significantly enhanced growth throughout the course of the experiments and increased N, P and K concentrations in the plant tissues. G. mosseae was superior to the rest. In the field trial, Acaulospora laevis, Scutellospora calospora and Glomus mosseae were inoculated into winged bean grown in unsterilized field soil, with or without phosphate fertilizer. Inoculation of winged bean with G. mosseae significantly (P < 0.05) increased inflorescence formation (4.5/plant) , particularly at an intermediate level (60 kg ha-1 ) of P fertilizer

Numerical investigation of copper-water (cu-water) nanofluid with different shapes of nanoparticles in a channel with stretching wall: slip effects

    Get PDF
The present study is focused on the presentation of a numerical solution for copper-water nanofluid through a stretching channel with spherical and cylindrical shape nanoparticles. The analysis of nanofluid in a channel with stretching walls under slip effects is made by introducing the conservation equation of nanoparticle volume fraction into Hamilton-Crosser’s nanofluid model. Governing partial differential equations are transformed into nonlinear ordinary differential equations by applying similarity transformation and then solved with the help of shooting method. The effects of different physical parameters on the rheology of nanofluids’ particles are presented in tabulation and pictorial representation. The study reveals that the thermal boundary layer thickness increases by increasing the solid volume fraction

The public’s consumption of social media has experienced a significant increase. This trend encourages marketers to use social media platforms to market their business and boost consumer engagement. Though studies have been conducted on the public’s consumption of social media and several theories anticipating consumer behaviour, motivation, and technological adoption have been developed, research into the relationship between marketing and promotional communications and consumers’ attitudes and choices has been limited. For example, the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), which is a reasonable and viable model capable of explaining disposition and conduct in influential marketing communication, has remained unnoticed by researchers. The purpose of this study was to ascertain whether persuasive messages used in social media marketing could effectively increase consumer engagement (CE) using ELM. This research employed the search terms ‘elaboration likelihood model, consumer engagement, and social media’ on a Scopus-indexed academic database, dated from 2018 to 2023. A total of 16 articles were selected following a screening stage. The administered systematic literature review suggests that ELM provides a hypothetical direction to arranging online entertainment content angles (i.e., focal and fringe signs) and recognising the variables that influence consumer engagement. A greater understanding of how to build consumer engagement on social media platforms through ELM can give insight into developing effective strategies for marketers. Future research can use the current study to improve research on social media and consumer engagement by using and expanding ELM
