Interactive Panorama VR360 for Corporate Communications: An Industrial Scenario Case Study

    Get PDF
This case study explores interactive panorama implementation for corporate communications virtual reality 360 (VR360) application. Interactive panorama permits spherical panorama digital imagery being presented in three hundred sixty degrees visual experience instead of single angle limitation in conventional static image. The study proposes the use of interactive panorama as a corporate communications tool being considered from three experimental PEP aspects. The exploration of PEP framework seeks the suitability of implementing three key aspects of people, equipment and product for interactive panorama virtual reality 360 experience. With the developing advances of interactive panorama, it has been introduced by online social media providers as essential feature which allows individual and corporate users to post 360 content. This case study takes advantage on the actual on-going marketing experience and technical insight of a participating case company and several industrial scenario use cases. In this paper we describe interactive panorama content creation, PEP framework, a user study and directions for future work

Application of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) in Prioritizing HAZOP Analysis for Pilot Plant

Injuries, accidents or even fatalities while working in pilot plant are reported worldwide. The implementation of process hazards analysis (PHA) in pilot plant is expected to further reduce the risks of accidents. Hazard and operability (HAZOP) analysis is one of the most widely used methods for PHA. Generally, the outcome of HAZOP analysis could results in identifying large number of hazards thus poses a challenge for assessors to take actions in dealing with all the hazards. The common practice in prioritizing the critical hazards is based on assessors’ experience through deductive judgment using rating scale, taking into consideration safety and the associated costs. However the novel operations and process used, unproven or changing technology, and lack of safety information due to developmental stages have led to poor hazards prioritization and difficulty in selecting actions. This paper presents an application of analytical hierarchy process (AHP) in prioritizing HAZOP analysis for pilot plant. Through this approach, the significant hazards identified using HAZOP will be quantitatively weighted and ranked based on their priority along with the appropriate counter measures to be taken. Application of this approach at the high pressure CO2-hydrocarbon absorption system pilot plants as case study showed that the proposed methodology is capable of identifying and ranking the significant hazards in the process following HAZOP analysis. This is particularly useful as a leading indicator to process designers/engineers/researcher in prioritizing their efforts and resources on more significant hazards, hence prevent accidents of the pilot plant

This research discusses the factors impacting the use of social media marketing on sales of the online small businesses in Malacca. The primary data was collected by using explanatory survey. The sample consists of 150 respondents who are online small business owners and who had experiences or non-experiences by implementing the social media marketing on their business in Malacca. The requirement analysis test used are pilot test, Reliability Analysis, Validity Analysis, Descriptive Statistic Analysis, Pearson’s Correlation Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis and Hypothesis Test Analysis. The data analysis technique is used Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 25.0 software. There are four independent variables such as customers’ feedbacks, communication, content sharing and customers’ relationships will be measured to examine their influence on sales performance of the online small businesses. The research results show that customers’ feedbacks has no direct influence on sales performance, communication has directly influence on sales performance, content sharing has no direct influence on sales performance and customers’ relationships has directly influence on sales performance of online small businesses in Malacca. In overall, the customers’ relationships has been proved to be the most significant factor that impacting the use of social media marketing on sales of the online small businesses because fostering relationships helps the online small businesses to build a positive rapport with customers within the community. The good customers’ relationships will make customers to have a good impression for the business owners and willing to repurchase the products. The achievement of this results could be a reference which offered the knowledge of sales performance on online small businesses for academic purpose, business study or other fields

Evaluation of risk associated with treatment of fat, oil, and grease: Grease interceptor from food processing industry effluent using bowtie analysis

Fat, oil, and grease (FOG), a deposit in wastewater, develops from any processes in food and processing industries. FOG deposits in wastewater management systems can cause blockages in sewer systems. Grease Interceptor (GI) is one of the control measures to treat and prevent the blockage of FOG deposits in the sewer system. Nevertheless, few studies evaluate the extended hazard of GI application in FOG treatment. This study aims to assess the risk of GI in FOG treatment by using a bowtie technique. The hazard identified is FOG itself, whereas the top event was GI failure. The high contributions of the threats were an unsuitable variation of GI's type and design, no GI cleaning process schedule, and a clogged outflow pipe from GI. GI design according to standard and cleaning FOG deposits in GI by a licensed grease hauler were two suitable preventive barriers. The desludging process is essential to guarantee that the GI operates smoothly and is identified as an excellent recovery barrier. Inter-rater reliability (IRR) analysis to measure the consistency of their ratings on the data provided. The experts had a 75% overall agreement value of IRR risk rating value on assets, while 50% agreement value on people
