    Stock Price Volatility and Dividend Policy in Jordanian Firms

    This paper examines the relationship between stock prices and dividend policy. To test the relationship, it uses multiple least square regressions for its analysis. The model developed for this research evaluates the relationship between dividend policy and stock price volatility over a span of ten years. The analysis utilizes multiple regressions to describe these relationships and also includes a correlation analysis amongst the variables chosen. The results conveyed a negative impact of the two components of the dividend policy that is D-P and D-Y on the share price volatility. This demonstrated that Jordanian industrial firms had their dividend yield rise, the stock prices tended to stabilize while the price volatility declined and thus lowers the share price risks. The results also demonstrated that higher payout ratios would mean low volatility of the stock price. Keywords; Divined Policy, Stock Price, Volatility, Jordanian Financial Market

    IMPLEMENTASI FUZZY LOGIC UNTUK PENENTUAN POSISI OBJEK PENGHALANG PADA GAME HUNGRY PIGS

    Perkembangan game saat ini sudah sangat modern, selain dari segi grafis gameplay pun semakin dinamis. Gameplay yang dinamis dapat membuat user tidak akan bosan memainkan game tersebut. Namun, jika sebuah game dirasakan sulit untuk dimainkan atau terlalu mudah untuk dimainkan biasanya user akan merasa jenuh atau bosan. Oleh karena itu, penulis ingin mencoba membuat sebuah penelitian untuk menguji sejauh mana implementasi fuzzy logic dapat membuat variasi penentuan posisi obstacle agar gameplay menjadi lebih menarik dan dinamis.Pada penelitian ini akan diimplementasikan fuzzy logic untuk penentuan posisi obstacle game pada sebuah game. Area posisi obstacle dibagi menjadi tiga, yaitu jauh, sedang, dan dekat. Sedangkan untuk penentuan posisi obstacle ditentukan dari skor dan waktu yang didiapat pada setiap akhir sebuah level. Hasil yang didapat dari perhitungan fuzzy logic adalah nilai yang nantinya akan menentukan user bermain di area posisi obstacle mana pada level berikutnya.Menurut hasil pengujian, implementasi fuzzy logic pada penentuan tingkat kesulitan menghasilkan output yang cukup bervariasi dibanding jika tidak menggunakan fuzzy logic. Jika tidak menggunakan fuzzy logic maka posisi obstacle akan statis pada default-nya. Jenis inferensi yang digunakan pun akan menghasilkan variasi output yang berbeda. Sebanyak 56,57% responden menyatakan bahwa game hungry pigs lebih dinamis dengan menggunakan fuzzy logic. Sedangkan 23,33 % responden menyatakan game lebih dinamis tidak menggunakan fuzzy logic dan 20% responden menyatakan tidak terasa perbedaan antara penggunaan fuzzy logic ataupun tidak.     Astrophysical parameters of ten poorly studied open star clusters

    We present here the fundamental parameters of ten open star clusters, nominated from Kronberger et al. (2006) who presented some new discovered stellar groups on the basis of 2MASS photometry and DSS visual images. Star counts and photometric parameters (radius, membership, distances, color excess, age, luminosity function, mass function, total mass, and the dynamical relaxation time) have been determined for these ten clusters for the first time. In order to calibrate our procedures, the main parameters (distance, age, and color excesses) have been re-estimated for another five clusters, which are studied by Kronberger et al.     This paper investigates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and the business performance of SMEs in Malaysia. The owner/managers were sent a package of questionnaires which comprised the Entrepreneurial Orientation Questionnaire EOQ, the Business Performance BP questionnaire and the demographic questionnaire. The finding revealed that there was a significant positive relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and business performance of SMEs in Malaysia. This study also provides an opportunity to expand the research on other industries such as manufacturing, constructions, agricultures and telecommunications

    Making software requires a lot of algorithms that are implemented into the making, one of the algorithms used is the sorting algorithm. Algorithms are logical sequences of steps to solve problems that are arranged systematically. Sorting algorithms (sequencing) are generally defined as the process of rearranging a series of objects in a certain order. The purpose of the sequencing process is to facilitate the search process for a beginner who wants to learn to make software, of course they have to go through stages in learning algorithms and in the learning process there will usually be obstacles faced such as not fully understanding how the algorithm works, especially the sorting algorithm or the media used as learning materials have not been able to maximize the knowledge of sorting algorithms, therefore it requires an application of learning aids media that can help in learning and understanding the material of the sorting algorithm more optimally.     Emotion Recognition System (ERS) identifies human emotion like happiness, sadness, anger, disgust and fear. These emotions can be detected via various modalities such as facial expression analysis, voice intonation, and physiological signals like the brain’s electroencephalogram (EEG) and heart’s electrocardiogram (ECG).  The emotion recognition system allows machines to recognized human emotions and reacts to it. It offers broad areas of application, from smart home automation to entertainment recommendation system to driving assistance and to automated security system. It is a promising and interesting field to be explored especially as we are moving towards industrial revolution 5.0. Therefore, a survey was conducted on the awareness and readiness of the usage of emotion recognition system among Malaysian youths, specifically among university students.     Prediction of Temperature and Rainfall in Bangladesh using Long Short Term Memory Recurrent Neural Networks

    Temperature and rainfall have a significant impact on economic growth as well as the outbreak of seasonal diseases in a region. In spite of that inadequate studies have been carried out for analyzing the weather pattern of Bangladesh implementing the artificial neural network. Therefore, in this study, we are implementing a Long Short-term Memory (LSTM) model to forecast the month-wise temperature and rainfall by analyzing 115 years (1901-2015) of weather data of Bangladesh. The LSTM model has shown a mean error of -0.38oC in case of predicting the month-wise temperature for 2 years and -17.64mm in case of predicting the rainfall.     Electrocardiogram Heartbeat Classification Using Convolutional Neural Networks for the Detection of Cardiac Arrhythmia

    The classification of the electrocardiogram (ECG) signal has a vital impact on identifying heart-related diseases. This can ensure the premature finding of heart disease and the proper selection of the patient's customized treatment. However, the detection of arrhythmia is a challenging task to perform manually. This justifies the necessity of a technique for automatic detection of abnormal heart signals. Therefore, our work is based on the classification of five classes of ECG arrhythmic signals from Physionet's MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Dataset. Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) have demonstrated significant success in ECG signal classification. Our proposed model is a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) customized to categorize the ECG signals. Our result testifies that the planned CNN model can successfully categorize arrhythmia with an overall accuracy of 95.2%. The average precision and recall of the proposed model are 95.2% and 95.4%, respectively.     Preparation of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) stabilised by highly branched hydrocarbon surfactants and dispersed in natural rubber latex nanocomposites

    The performance of single-, double- and triple-chain anionic sulphosuccinate surfactants for dispersing multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNCTs) in natural rubber latex (NR-latex) was studied using a range of techniques, including field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Raman spectroscopy. The conductivities of the nanocomposites were also investigated using four-point probe measurements. Here, MWCNTs were efficiently dispersed in NR-latex with the aid of hyperbranched tri-chain sulphosuccinate anionic surfactants, specifically sodium 1,4-bis(neopentyloxy)-3-(neopentyloxycarbonyl)-1,4-dioxobutane-2-sulphonate (TC14). This paper highlights that TC14 performs much better than that of the commercially available surfactant sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS), demonstrating how careful consideration of surfactant architecture leads to improved dispersibility of MWCNTs in NR-latex.
