Hydrophobicity properties of graphite and reduced graphene oxide of the polysulfone (PSf) mixed matrix membrane

Hydrophobicity properties of graphite and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) (from exfoliated graphite/rGO) towards PSf polymer membrane characteristic and properties at different additives weight concentrations (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 wt. %) were investigated. Both PSF/graphite and PSf/rGO membranes were characterized in term of hydrophobicity, surface bonding, surface roughness and porosity. FTIR peaks revealed that membrane with graphite and reduced graphene oxide nearly diminished their O-H bonding which was opposite to the graphene oxide peak that shows a strong O-H bonding as increased exfoliated times. These results were in line with the contact angle results that showed strong hydrophobicity of graphite and reduced graphene oxide membranes as increased these additives concentration. The effect of strong hydrophobicity in these membranes also has resulted in smoother surface roughness compared to pristine PSf membrane. Further investigation of the performance of water flux also proved that both above membranes have strong hydrophobic effect, with the lowest pure water flux rate (L/m2h) was given by PSf/rGO 3% membrane at 19.2437 L/m2h

The Effect of Cooperative Learning on Reading Comprehension of Narrative Texts of the Eighth Grade Students of SMPN 13 Pekanbaru

This research is aimed at finding out whether there is a significant effect of cooperative learning on reading comprehension of narrative text of the eighth grade students of SMPN 13 Pekanbaru. The research design was a pre-experimental research. The sample was VIII-2 chosen by cluster sampling technique. The result showed that the mean score of post-test (73.44) was higher than score of pre-test (63.88). The result also showed that the value of t-test (8.55) was higher than t-table (2.02) at the significance level 5%. Therefore Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and Null Hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It could be concluded that there was a significant effect of cooperative learning on reading comprehension of narrative text of the eighth grade students of SMPN 13 Pekanbaru

Nelayan adalah profesi utama di Dusun Ujung Genteng, di mana komposisi mata pencaharian nelayan sebesar80% dan sisanya adalah PNS, pedagang, dan pengusaha. Tapi di musim lainnya, profesi mereka dapat berubahbegitu juga dengan nelayan. Tipologi pantai Dusun Ujung Genteng yang berbentuk teluk membuat perairanini memiliki lumpur lebih dari pantai selatan pulau Jawa. Salinitas di perairan ini cenderung rendah danada banyak terumbu karang sehingga Ikan Layur (Trichiurus leputurus) ditemukan di wilayah ini. Layursejenis ikan emas banyak dipancing di Dusun Ujung Genteng. Tingginya permintaan Layur ikan dari Jepangdan Korea juga meningkatkan nilai ekonomi komoditas ini. Ikan Layur mampu terjual dengan harga yanglebih tinggi daripada ikan lainnya. Lingkungan nelayan terkadang menjadi hal yang sering diabaikan.Dusun Ujung Genteng memiliki luas 89 hektare untuk seluruh jangkauan, tetapi semuanya tanah sengketa.Terjadi saling klaim antara pihak Atang Sanjaya Angkatan Udara pangkalan udara, masyarakat setempat,dan calon kebijakan mengenai wilayah pesisir ekowisata. Makalah ini menunjukkan bahwa masalah yangterjadi di masyarakat pesisir tidak hanya terkonsentrasi pada isu-isu kelautan. Wilayah tempat tinggal dankegiatan ekonomi masyarakat yang berada di wilayah pesisir (bukan maritim) juga memiliki gesekan

A Descriptive Study Of Code Mixing Form In Kaskus Online Forum

This research objective is to find out the form of code mixing in Kaskus online forum. The research data were collected in february 2017. The subject of this research was the user of Kaskus online forum in a thread entitiles “Cara Asik to Improve Your English”. The data were collected through online report. The subject consisted of 16 users with 48 posts, and 64 sentences. The research found out that the all of code mixing forms exist in Kaskus and several purposes of code mixing are found in this research. As a conclusion, the use of insertion of words is more dominant than other insertion in the research and Kaskus users are not using the code mixing for their incompetence

Retrospective Study on Milk Production and Reproductive Performance of Dairy Cattle in a Farm in Selangor, Malaysia

Dairy industry is small in Malaysia and unable to fulfill its dairy self-sufficiency. Therefore, Malaysia has to import most of the dairy products to satisfy its domestic demands. This study was performed to evaluate the performance of a selected dairy farm in Malaysia. A dairy farm in Selangor was selected and the farm records between 2011 and 2015 were analysed for the annual milk yield, calving rate and disease occurrence. It was found that the milk yield was low with average annual yield of 44,967 kg and the average milk production per cow per day was 6.83 kg. Clinical mastitis (67%) and traumatic injury (6.9%) were the most common disease occurrence. The calving rate of 75% was within the farm target. Calving percentage and diseases showed significant (P0.05) positive and negative influences on milk production, respectively

Usability and performance measure of a consumer-grade brain computer interface system for environmental control by neurological patients

With the increasing incidence and prevalence of chronic brain injury patients and the current financial constraints in healthcare budgets, there is a need for a more intelligent way to realise the current practice of neuro-rehabilitation service provision. Brain-computer Interface (BCI) systems have the potential to address this issue to a certain extent only if carefully designed research can demonstrate that these systems are accurate, safe, cost-effective, are able to increase patient/carer satisfaction and enhance their quality of life. Therefore, one of the objectives of the proposed study was to examine whether participants (patients with brain injury and a sample of reference population) were able to use a low cost BCI system (Emotiv EPOC) to interact with a computer and to communicate via spelling words. Patients participated in the study did not have prior experience in using BCI headsets so as to measure the user experience in the first-exposure to BCI training. To measure emotional arousal of participants we used an ElectroDermal Activity Sensor (Qsensor by Affectiva). For the signal processing and feature extraction of imagery controls the Cognitive Suite of Emotiv's Control Panel was used. Our study reports the key findings based on data obtained from a group of patients and a sample reference population and presents the implications for the design and development of a BCI system for communication and control. The study also evaluates the performance of the system when used practically in context of an acute clinical environment

Dominansi Dan Diversitas Lamun Dan Makrozoobenthos Pada Musim Pancaroba Di Pantai Bama, Taman Nasional Baluran, Situbondo [Dominance and Diversity of Seagrass and Macrozoobenthos on Transition Season in Bama Beach, Baluran National Park, Situbondo]

Lamun merupakan tanaman berbiji terbuka yang mampu tumbuh dan beradaptasi dengan lingkungan bersalinitas tinggi serta dapat berasosiasi dengan benthos. Keberadaan lamun di perairan merupakan salah satu indikator tingkat kesuburan dan produktivitas perairan. Terdapat perbedaan dominansi antara musim hujan dan musim kemarau, sehingga enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menghitung dominansi dan keanekaragaman lamun dan makrozoobenthos pada musim pancaroba di Pantai Bama, TN Baluran, Situbondo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu line transect quadran dengan 5 line transek quadran yang masing-masingnya dipasang 5 plot transek. Ditemukan jenis lamun yang memiliki nilai kelimpahan tertinggi di Pantai Bama, TN Baluran pada musim pancaroba yaitu C. serrulata dengan nilai 48,90% , dan makrozoobenthos dari genus Holothuria dengan nilai 52,06%. Nilai Indeks dominansi (D) mengkategorikan Pantai Bama, TN Baluran dalam perairan dengan dominansi sedang. Sedangkan berdasarkan Indeks keanekaragaman (H\u27) mengkategorikan Pantai Bama, TN Baluran dalam perairan dengan keanekaragaman rendah. Musim peralihan berpengaruh terhadap jenis, kelimpahan relatif, indeks dominansi dan indeks keanekaragaman lamun dan makrozoobenthos di Pantai Bama, TN Baluran dibandingkan musim kemarau dan hujan. Perlu dilakukan survei secara berkala untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman organisme yang berkaitan dengan produktivitas perairan

Performance Analysis of 6 Slot 8 Pole Permanent Magnet Linear Motor

Currently, palm oil is the mostconsumedvegetable oilin the world. Therefore, an increment in its productivity is essential to ensure its sustainability in the market. One option is through the mechanization of the tools used to harvest it. In this paper, the design of the actuator for mechanized oil palm harvesting tools was discussed. A 3 phase permanent magnet linear motor with a 6 slot 8 pole structure topology known as 3PhSTLOA was used as the actuator structure. The structure of 3PhSTLOA has been optimized. The aim of the optimization is to allow the 3PhSTLOA to produce at least 200 N of average thrust at a total weight of under 2.0 kg. As a result of optimizing the 3PhSTLOA produced about 202 N of average thrust at 1.8 kg of its total weight. The performance of 3PhSTLOA is then compared with the previous type of actuator in mechanized harvesting tools
