Evaluating the provision of information system performance in the public education sector : An extension of DeLone and Mclean model / Mohd Aidil Riduan Awang Kader and Roslina Ali

The DeLone & McLean Information System (IS) Success model has been the definitive framework to measure IS effectiveness. This model has been used in many settings like education and business, but less frequently in the e-government environment. Therefore, this paper aims to measure the IS performance and its importance to the users particularly in public education sector by using an extension of DeLone & McLean model. Respondents comprise of a local public education sector end users (employees) who had access to Information Technology (IT) facilities and services (email, internet browsing and a host of office automation system). A total of 151 responses were obtained. The specific objective of this study includes to identify the IS attribute (amongst systems quality, information quality and service quality), which is perceived to have the most significant relationship with end-user satisfaction. Furthermore, this study seeks to examine the relationship between the demographic factors of the end-users and their evaluation of the overall IS performance. The findings indicate that system quality has the most significant relationship with enduser satisfaction. However, the study also found that there is no significant relationship between the end user demographic factors and their evaluation of the overall IS performance. Findings from this study could give public managers the basis to perform a benchmark amongst the different IS applications. In addition, the results can also be considered by top level management in developing future policies and strategies to exploit organization’s information resources, develop its information infrastructure, and promote the utilization of IS for the purpose of achieving more effective growth in the public service

Pembelajaran melalui aktiviti perniagaan di kalangan para pelajar MDAB/ Nor Hidayatun Abdul Razak... [et. al.]

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauhmana para pelajar dapat memahami konsep pengurusan melalui aktiviti perniagaan secara berkumpulan. Semua pelajar yang terlibat merupakan pelajar di peringkat pra diploma dalam bidang perdagangan seramai 155 pelajar. Selain itu, kajian ini turut bertujuan mengenalpasti kesan aktiviti kepada kemahiran insaniah para pelajar terlibat. Melalui maklumbalas secara bertulis yang diterima, aktiviti perniagaan secara berkumpulan ini banyak membantu pelajar meningkatkan kemahiran insaniah seperti kemahiran berkomunikasi dan berhubung dengan orang lain. Maklumat yang diperolehi dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian SPSS. Secara keseluruhannya, pembelajaran melalui aktiviti perniagaan berkumpulan dapat membantu pelajar memahami konsep pengurusan dengan lebih jelas dan meningkatkan kemahiran insaniah masing-masing

The effect of technostress on online learning behaviour among undergraduates

Purpose – Students’ incompetence to deal with the intricacies of technology during the teaching and learning process may have negatively affected their online learning process particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It is critical to research technostress influence on online learning behaviours among undergraduates. Thus, this research intends to examine the predicting factors that contribute to technostress and the correlation between undergraduates’ technostress and the behavioural intention to use online learning. Methodology – This study employed an online survey and cross-sectional data towards 212 respondents, all of whom were Diploma students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Pahang. This study added three new variables to the existing Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) namely teaching-related aspects, price value, and technostress. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was performed to analyse the measurement model and evaluate the developed hypotheses. Findings – The findings established a significant correlation between technostress and behavioural intention to use online learning. Facilitating conditions also demonstrate a significant relationship to technostress. Significance - The study’s findings are likely to increase researchers’ understanding of the present condition of technostress in higher education as a consequence of the implementation of online learning regulations, as well as the scale of the impacts on higher education
