Assessment of evolutionary status of eclipsing binaries using light-curve parameters and spectral classification

We have developed a procedure for the classification of eclipsing binaries from their light-curve parameters and spectral type. The procedure was tested on more than 1000 systems with known classification, and its efficiency was estimated for every evolutionary status we use. The procedure was applied to about 4700 binaries with no classification, and the vast majority of them was classified successfully. Systems of relatively rare evolutionary classes were detected in that process, as well as systems with unusual and/or contradictory parameters. Also, for 50 previously unclassified cluster binaries evolutionary classes were identified. These stars can serve as tracers for age and distance estimation of their parent stellar systems. The procedure proved itself as fast, flexible and effective enough to be applied to large ground based and space born surveys, containing tens of thousands of eclipsing binaries.Comment: 12 pages, 6 tables, 2 figures, 3 appendixe

Каталог в электронной форме опубликован по адресу: ftp://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/pub/cats/J/AN/334/860.Close eclipsing binary stars of different evolutionary types have been investigated. The main goal was to develop the procedure for determination of evolutionary classes of eclipsing binaries based on their observable parameters. To construct the algorithm the analysis of the distribution of observable stellar parameters of eclipsing systems of different evolutionary classes has been performed. As a result the catalogue of eclipsing variables (CEV) has been collected and procedure for the classification (i.e. determination of evolutionary class) of eclipsing binaries has been developed. The new method has been applied to the previously unclassified CEV binaries. Catalogue CEV represents the largest list to date of eclipsing binaries classified from observations. It can be used for the comprehensive investigation of eclipsing binaries and processes of their evolution. New classification procedure allows to determine the evolutionary classes for the eclipsing binaries which are found as by-products of microlensing surveys and discovered in all-sky photometric surveys. Also it can be used for discovering of new interesting stars on the rare evolutionary stages. Catalofue CEV is available in electronic form at the CDS via anonymous ftp: ftp://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/pub/cats/J/AN/334/860.Программа развития УрФУ на 2013 год (п.2.1.1.1

GOLD NANOCONJUGATES: PREPARATION, CHARACTERISATION AND BIOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS

    Get PDF
This PhD thesis is dedicated to the preparation, characterisation and biological application of gold nanoconjugates. Gold nanoparticles are prepared by various modern preparation methods, and subsequently characterised by spectroscopic (UV-vis, ATR-FTIR, NMR), microscopic (TEM) techniques. The stability of the conjugates is evaluated both by using Zeta-potential studies and UV-vis. The nanoparticles are used in cellular uptake experiments using human glioblastoma cancer cells, and are found to possess a low cytotoxicity. The nanoparticles are found taken up by the cells and distributed in different cellular compartments

Methodological approaches to relief role evaluation in soil erosion dynamics

© 2016, International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology. All rights reserved. The article describes the method of some relief indicators estimation in soil erosion dynamics. Soil maps on the scale 1:10000 made for different time periods and topographic maps with the scale 1:25000 are used as the source materials. The areas of agricultural associations, selected according to a number of criteria act as the key areas. The calculation of relief indicators as well as the calculation of soil erosion integral index is performed by the means of GIS technology. A wide range of indices is used for further modeling of soil erosion development, depending on the relief factor. The generalized linear model (GLM) is used as the modeling tool

The native language learning in the General education system of the Russian Federation

In view of the urgency of preserving linguistic diversity in the world, the authors consider the current state of native languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation in the system of General education. The relevance of the research is confirmed by the analysis of publications carried out in the work. There is a controversy in the country about whether native languages should be included in the main educational program and whether it should be mandatory to study them. The study revealed negative trends associated with a decrease in the interest of students and their parents in learning their native languages, a decrease in the number of classes and the number of students who master the main educational program in their native language, choose it as an independent subject for study. The paper presents proposals aimed at popularizing the study of native languages in the General education system, which is the basis for their preservation and development

    Eclipsing variables: Catalogue and classification

A new version of the Catalogue of Eclipsing Variables is presented. The catalogue contains parameters and morphological types of light curves for some 7200 stars. Spectral classification is also given when available. Recently published information about classification of 1352 systems is also included in the catalogue. Thus, the catalogue represents the largest list of eclipsing binaries classified from observations. The analysis of stellar parameter distributions of catalogued eclipsing systems has been performed, and an algorithm of eclipsing-variable classification has been developed. Classification of some systems is troublesome or contradictory due to lack of modern observational data or their possible rare evolutionary class. © 2013 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim

New atlas of open star clusters

Due to numerous new discoveries of open star clusters in the last two decades, astronomers need an easy-to-use resource to get visual information on the relative position of clusters in the sky. Therefore we propose a new atlas of open star clusters. It is based on a table compiled from the largest modern cluster catalogues. The atlas shows the positions and sizes of 3291 clusters and associations, and consists of two parts. The first contains 108 maps of 12 by 12 degrees with an overlapping of 2 degrees in three strips along the Galactic equator. The second one is an online web application, which shows a square field of an arbitrary size, either in equatorial coordinates or in galactic coordinates by request. The atlas is proposed for the sampling of clusters and cluster stars for further investigation. Another use is the identification of clusters among overdensities in stellar density maps or among stellar groups in images of the sky. © 2017 A. F. Cartographic-geoinformational estimation of spatio-temporal erosion dynamics of arable soils in forest-steppe landscapes of the Russian Plain

    Get PDF
The intensity of soil erosion in the forest-steppe landscapes of the Russian Plain was assessed using a cartographic method and GIS. The aim of the research was to devise a method for analysing the spatio-temporal dynamics of soil erosion intensity under conditions of high agricultural production. The intensity of anthropogenic erosion was assessed for the period from 1970 to 2007. These years cover the period of highest intensity of agricultural land use (USSR) and the subsequent period of agricultural loading reduction experienced during the transitional economy of Russia during the 1990s. Spatio-temporal analysis of soil erosion was conducted by the creation of vector thematic erosion maps, generated using the "overlay" cartographic approach. The change in soil erosion contours was estimated for each key soil type. Copyright © 2012 IAHS Press
